+ -1 moreWe had experienced many overflows when running the dish washer. He spent a good 2 hours on a Saturday, and then ran the rinse cycle to test his work. We have had no problems since then.
Description of Work: Fixed our dishwasher drain overflow problem. Tim cleaned out dish washer drain system including hoses, overflow drain, dishwasher pump and basin, then replaced a kinked hose routing it so that it would not kink and cleared other plumbing and hoses under the sink.

+ -1 moreMr. Marshall showed up on time. He was pleasant and professional. Checked out the problem. Had to replace ice maker unit. visit was about 30-45 minutes. Was thorough, left area clean, and ice maker operating. Later on, I called back because there was some backdraft freezing in the chute. He advised us on problem, a quick fix and a quick estimate of replacing the chute. Happy to say that we have managed that problem with no further expense.

+ -1 moreTim responded to the call in a timely manner and worked with us to get the refrigerator repaired. Tim diagnosed the problem which involved a circuit board (CB) malfunction. The CB was sent for repair and returned only to still not function properly. Tim returned to my home and determined that the CB still had issues. He worked professionally with the repair company and sent the CB back with diagnostic info he collected. The board was returned, Tim installed the board on a Sunday and it has been working since. Time was very professional and charged for his initial visit and cost for the CB repair. He came to our home about 6 times including weekend days. I would definitely recommend Tim and Marshall Appliance Repair for any appliance problems. I would totally recommend him to my friends and use him for any additional appliance issues that I have in the future.

He recommended fixes to avoid having to purchase a new dryer and the fixes definitely worked, which saved us money. + -1 moreI called the company at about 8:00 pm on Sunday, sent them an Email. as well. My son's refrigerator was not working. He was using a small cooler to keep his food. He has two small kids. I was called Monday morning, Tim came out to the house by 12 noon and fixed the refigerator. He also fixed the door because it was not closing well. There was even a shelf in the refrigerator that needed fixing. He fixed that as well. This man is true to his word. He came out in a timely manner and did excellent work.. Hands down, he is excellent. I will certainly recommend him, and I will use his services again.

Tim returned with the proper item and did a second replacement. He also provided a 1 year warranty on parts and labor. I would recommend Tim without hesitation.

Tim verified the problem, performed multiple component tests and narrowed the problem to the motor control board. Based upon the initial description of the problem when we made the appointment Tim had a new board with him and repaired the washer on the spot. A test run verified the fix.

He spent about 1.5 hrs diagnosing issue. Turns out it was a faulty sensor of some sort. He replaced it and it seems to be working fine now.

While running late from another appointment, he did apologize for arriving late, which is something I never hear from service providers these days. He came prepared since he asked a number of questions on the phone and he listened carefully to my description of my refrigerator symptoms. He showed me the damage on the motherboard and patiently answered all my questions. He was careful with my brick floors and cleaned up after his work was done. When we settled-up, Tim actually reminded me about my AngiesList discount. I appreciate that! All around, a very good experience and I feel I have someone to call for other appliance repairs that may pop up.

Took the stove apart, diagnosed the problem and fixed it very quickly. Then he stuck around to let the stove preheat and test it out to make sure the problem was fixed. We had no complaints and will definitely call him for future appliance repairs!

Although it was the end of his work day, Tim cheerfully did the additional work on the washer and dryer, which we had not thought to mention when we made the appointment earlier in the day, even though we were indecisive about how to rearrange things, and it took extra time.

Very nice to not have to wait around during a long 3-4 hour window that larger companies give. He found the problem quickly, left to get parts and then replaced the fan. He also noticed a drip where the defrost drain tube attached, and put some putty on it to be safe. He was professional and friendly throughout and left things cleaner than when he arrived.

He removed and replaced the leaking line; in fact, did more extensive check and repairs to ensure the problem does not recur. Tim is professional, friendly, patient, a good listener and very very clean while doing repairs. Then cleans up beautifully when finished. He shares all the details re the repairs and is open to answering questions. This is the third time I've used him. He has a strong work ethic and we are very comfortable having him in our home. + -1 moreI discovered water seeping from under my refrigerator on Saturday morning, and called Marshall Appliance Repair after reading reviews on Angie's List. Tim said he could be here Sunday morning, which surprised and pleased me -- he showed up on time and spent over an hour trying to find the source of the leak. He ruled out some major possibilities and couldn't find anything else, so he extended the filter hoses so I could keep an eye on the filter for a few days and we set a time for him to return on Wednesday. I observed that the filter was, indeed, leaking -- and when he returned on Wednesday he determined that the cause was a non-brand filter that I had installed. He installed the brand-name filter and it stopped leaking. The cost I've listed includes the price of the filter -- and considering the time he spent, I'm more than satisfied with what he charged me. It was an expensive lesson -- I will always purchase brand name filters from now on! Tim was very professional, pleasant, and knowledgeable -- I will definitely call him when I need any other appliance repair.

+ -1 moreFirst, he trouble-shooted the problem of my frig being warm over the phone. Then he made an appointment as soon as possible for the next morning to come out and look at the frig. I like that he started with what was the smallest solution possible testing this part and that, and then took it to a next step until he found what needed replacing. He assessed that a relay might need to be replaced and bought that part. When that was not the solution, he found another relay part that might need to be replaced, and that did the job. Frig is cooling again! He checked in with LG tech support along the way to double-check that he was on track. Also the light in the frig had stayed on all the time a few months ago, and so I had taken the bulbs out to preventing overheating the light fixture. He replaced the control board and now there is light again! He gave me a very fair price for all. The next day, when I took out the freezer liner to clean the freezer, and I could not get it back in right, he came back just because he is willing to help, and put it back in.
Description of Work: He replaced a relay part to get the frig compressor to work again. He replaced the control board & repaired the light fixture that would have kept the frig light on all the time (had I not taken the bulbs out of the fixture.) He came back and helped me put the liner of the freezer back in that I had taken out to clean, but could not get back in.

+ -1 moreAs I noted above I had a suspicion the issue was with the thermostat, but that was just a 'guess' on MY part. All went well with the replacement and Tim indicated it would take 24 hours or so to be certain all was well. Initially the refrigerator simply "ran and ran"; the temperature with settings we had used in the past was way too "low". Reducing the number setting on the thermostat finally reached a point where any lower and the unit would turn "off". There was not a great deal of food or frozen items in the unit and Tim suggested that it would be a better indicator when the 'box' was heavily loaded. We agreed to give it a few days to see if the temperature leveled off; which it finally did after the "refrig and freezer" were loaded. All seemed well ..... so we waited another few days to see. Now - nearly a month later the "refrigerator and freezer" are doing quite well. Temperatures are perfect as we head into summer. TIM did a heck of a job at what I believe was a very reasonable price. We pay folks like Tim for WHAT THEY KNOW as opposed to the actual work they perform. That's only right in my opinion. THANKS TIM and rest assured that when the next appliance decides to take a dive -- we WILL be calling you!
Description of Work: I called Tim and told him what our AMANA BOTTOM FREEZER / REFRIGERATOR was "not doing" - which was properly cycling "on and off". I had a suspicion the issue was with the thermostat, but that was just a 'guess' on MY part. Tim asked for the "Model Number - Serial Number and manufacturer's designation of the model"so he would be reasonably certain of bringing the proper parts. When Tim arrived (on schedule) he did a quick review of what might be causing the problem, detailed the parts he suspected and began diagnosing step-by-step until he was reasonably certain it was indeed the thermostat causing the problem. He also was kind enough to clean the inside and outside areas of the refrigerator. The exact "part number" replacement had been "discontinued" (of course) so Tim had the latest part that should have been a good replacement part. Naturally, the manufacturer had modified the design of the "universal replacement" and Tim had to carefully alter the layout of the 'coil' that is attached to the thermostat; he was careful and finally had the part configured so it would fit in the small space allowed. The proverbial "bottom line" is that it appeared the problem was resolved and all it would take is time to be certain.
