He unplugged the defrost drain and vacuumed the condenser coils. He thawed out the ice bin and dispenser. Due to his diligence and persistence he found a very large restriction in the evaporator oils. This helped us decide not to fix the refrigerator but buy a new one. He saved us time and effort by properly diagnosing the problem and preventing us from spending good money on a lost cause. He was professional, knowledgeable and honest. Great. When I initially called for service Tim asked me for the model # and serial # in order to check his service vehicle to determine if he had the proper parts to fix our problem. We scheduled the appointment for the following day, which was great since we had just returned from an out-of-town trip and we seriously needed to do laundry. Tim was very thorough, professional, and experienced. We expect to call him again soon as we have a couple of other issues with a refrigerator and oven that need fixing. Tim is honest, professional, punctual, and provides great service at a great price. One of the burners on our cooktop refused to light. Even though he was out of town, he worked with me to schedule a quick visit, showed up on time and quickly finished the job. He also gave us some good advice on future appliance purchases. On top of everything, Tim is just a great guy. We would absolutely use him again if needed.

Tim came out within a few hours of our Saturday distress call. He returned Monday with the part to fix the malfunctioning switch he'd found on Saturday, then discovered that the dishwasher still didn't work properly. He continued to test various components until he found the other problem, then repaired it as well - and didn't even charge us for the broken switch, either. He is professional, thorough, punctual, and more than fair. We will definitely use Tim in the future and highly recommend his service.

Tim arranged to work on the unit the same afternoon as my call. He arrived on time and with the replacement part in hand. He replaced the part, checked the electrical terminations, and tested the repair. We had a good discussion about the how the part failed and he followed up with more information with an e-mail, a voice message, and a phone call.

After my front-loader washing machine filled with water, running out on the floor, during the night I checked with Angies List. I had never needed to employ an appliance repair person before in our area. Tim Marshall was the highest rated person on the list and I phoned him at 11:00am. He asked me a few questions and was able to diagnose the problem by phone. Since he was on the way to his warehouse he added my parts to his list and was able to arrive at my house on the same day within the hour! The repair went well. He was quick, polite, and efficient explaining every step of his repair. Taking a little extra time he looked at some minor problems with my cooking range top. We decide to correct those problems at a later date. All in all ,an excellent experience and the price was fair. Oh, and I almost forgot - the washing machine works perfectly.

Mr. Marshall was prompt and starting in immediately with the service maintenance, starting with the gas range. He checked each burner and turned on the oven and subsequently left a thermometer in there to check that the temperature was correct while he began servicing the refrigerator. He tested the temperature in the refrigerator, and used a long wire brush and vacuum to clean the coils on the bottom of the refrigerator. He also removed the covers on the back and cleaned/vacuumed back there, including the dust on the wall and floor in back of the refrigerator. He went back to the oven to check the thermometer and determined that the temperature was correct at 350 degrees. The washer and dryer were next on the list and Mr. Marshall did an excellent job on cleaning the insides of both appliances, checking and replacing the hoses. He literally took the dryer completely apart to clean out the lint from around the drum and through the vent line, and did the same with the washer, getting to the coin catcher, removing one long nail and $1.25 in coins! They were terribly rusted, suggesting these items were in the trap a long time; the washer and dryer are about 15 or more years old. Mr. Marshall spent more than 3 hours and only charged $245+ including tax. He was cordial, polite and efficient and very thorough in his work; very impressive and hard-working, and cleaned the work areas better than what it was before he started his work. I would highly recommend and use him again.

He came back the next day (March 11) with a new motor. Installed it, made sure everything worked. Also fixed another problem with the freezer. Sprayed foam had partially clogged the drain hole and was causing water to build up and freeze on the bottom of the freezer. He is very professional, knowledgeable, and simply great. I thought his pricing was very fair, and paid him a little more because he worked on the freezer until 10 PM. I would definitely use him again, give his name to others and rate him A++++. And, yes, I told Tim that I would send in a very favorable report.

Great. I was most impressed because he called me so soon after I purchased the service online through Angie's List. He came the very next day after I purchased it! Very efficient and professional; will definitely call him again.

Our 2003 Kenmore side-by-side stopped working Tuesday evening, Feb 24. The interior light worked, but all cooling functions stopped working. We unplugged the refrigerator, and called Sears service 800 number on Wednesday morning. We were less than pleased with the Sears 800 service call. It would be Friday morning, Feb 27, before a service technician could visit our home, and that a diagnostic call would cost $95. Later in the day we decided to see if Angie's list had any references to repairmen who would work on a Kenmore brand. (Many won't). We called Marshall Appliance at about 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb 25. I was impressed that the owner, Tim Marshall, answered the phone himself, and was very responsive. He said he was finishing a job and could be at our home in 30 minutes. He plugged the refrigerator in, and amazingly, it started working. Not being satisfied, Tim performed diagnostics to determine the cause of the shutdown. He opined that the thermostat or computer might be the cause, gave us many good tips for maintaining our refrigerator properly, and monitored its function for about an hour. Tim was very professional, friendly, and genuinely interested in his customer (us). We wish more vendors could be cloned with Tim.

Everything went well; repair turned out to be very simple, so I think the price was a little high for work done, but tech did clean out the dryer and check that everything was working properly...and it has worked well since the repair

Tim was thorough and professional. He ordered a part from the manufacturer to repair our electric cooktop (and double checked with manufacturer to make sure it was the correct part) but the manufacturer had changed the design of the part. When he called them for instructions on how to attach the new part to the old cooktop they were no help. He figured it out on his own and my cooktop was up and working again in no time. I would recommend him to a family and friends without hesitation. A really good guy who knows his stuff!

Everything was good with timely contacts, professional conduct, and most of all, the oven was repaired.

I appreciated Tim taking the time to explain the problem and what needed to be done to fix it.

It runs fine. Tim found a broken wire and replaced it. He came out on MLK Day at no extra charge.

Overall repair was acceptable. I'm not sure the merchant was aware of the value of my time. Repair person made three trips before the repair was complete. Each time he was about 30-45 min late. At the time I didn't know what a fair price was for the service. After checking, the price was fair and the machine works well.

I emailed Tim through the Angie's List site and scheduled the service for the next morning. I provided the oven model number and my opinion that the igniter was faulty. He arrived when promised and made the repair inside of 30 minutes. He arrived with the appropriate part in hand, so didn't have to go to pick it up. Tim is very courteous and professional. I will use him any time an appliance needs work.

Tim is very professional, very good and easy to work with. He fixed both our broken dryer and broken oven in one visit, coming over within an hour or so of when we called in. He does excellent work and demonstrates outstanding integrity. Call him when you need an appliance repair; he will fix it for you and do a very good job.

This was a very good experience. Jim Marshall discovered the problem in a hurry and was able to find the necessary part and fix the problem. He also cleaned up an ice problem in the freezer. I would definitely use his services again if needed.

Yes, Tim is technically excellent, professional, and personable, but he also has a 'savvy', that comes from life experience and a kind spirit, which puts him head and shoulders above many, if not all, others. Tim took the time to 'get it right the first time', patiently answered all my questions, and kept me informed throughout the process. Tim made what could have been a trying event painless. I was very pleased with Tim's repair job. My 11-year old Maytag dryer is now running like new. I definitely recommend Tim and will use him again in the future for any appliance repairs.

He replaced the motor that had died, fixed the silverware basket, tested the dishwasher, and cleaned up.
