Description of Work: By The Yard Landscaping & Irrigation did two jobs for me in the same day. First they installed a paver stone patio which was the "Big Deal" and then they did an additional job of installing 22 flagstones in our courtyard. |It was a long day for Brad,the owner, and his two assistants and they worked very hard to get the job done. |I am very happy with the results. The patio and pavers look great. I would highly recommend By The Yard Landscaping to other people looking for a skilled landscaper .

Description of Work: This was an Angie's List "Big Deal", $49.00 for a sprinkler system "tune-up". Though the provider was friendly and punctual, there was no "tune-up" involved. He located 3 or 4 sprinkler heads and confirmed that they were working, but when asked about the other 20 or so, he said that he assumed that they were working also. He also programmed the unit that controls the system, something that I've done a hundred or more times, so that didn't really add much value to the service provided. He did give me some useful advice, and gave an estimate on installing a new drip system for a vegetable garden,(an estimate which under normal circumstances would be free, I'm guessing). Overall, I have no way of knowing whether the company is competent or not (although their numerous "A" ratings by other AL users seem to indicate that they are), nor if I would use their services again. My primary complaint is that it cost me $49.00 for about 15 minutes of advice, and little else.

Description of Work: The deal I purchased was for a review and adjustment of my irrigation system ($49). Brad Jacobsen, the owner of By-the-Yard, arrived early (calling me first to OK that), reviewed my current irrigation system, adjusted some of the sprinkler heads, and replaced one ($10 extra for parts). What I really appreciate is how he took the time to explain to me how the system is supposed to work. I'm new to irrigation systems, and this was extremely valuable--and reassuring, since I was concerned that I might be wasting water. I would definitely call By-the-Yard again for this and related services. A very positive experience for me.
