Technician said that tenant had set air temp for 80 F and water heater couldn't keep up, thus it cooled down and no hot water or house heat. Tech set temp to 70F allowed water heater to catch up and heat to return to house. While I'm not entirely convinced by this explanation (when we lived in the house, we routinely had temp set in high 70Fs and water heater had no issues). Pump is designed for high duty cycle.
Description of Work: tenant called on cold house w/ not hot water. ( House heat is driven by the hot water heater which circulates the hot water through a heat exchanger (next to A/C heat exchanger inside house); water returns to hot water heater to be re-heated or used normal water heater.)

Customer Service: After the installation, I had asked them for a transferrable warranty, heater warranty/manual and bill and they said they would get back to me. I had also asked them to ensure that they coordinate a city inspector to come out to ensure everything was up to code since we would be selling the house this spring. I received nothing but a week later I received a voicemail while I was out of town asking for me to call them to set up payment. I called back and we scheduled a time and then I also asked again about the inspection and they said they would take care of it and which day suits me and I gave them the information. They came by the day to pick up their check and brought the heater warrant/manual and I received a bill that also "served" as the transferrable warranty to the next owner. Again, I inquired about the inspector and they said they would set it up. It's been several weeks now and no inspector. My overall impression was that they were good but inexperienced. In hindsight, I should've gone with a more experienced business as I think they would've been able to resolve my issue with my older heating unit initially, or at some point, realized, there's a ROI on recommending a new heater. Prior to indicating we wanted to purchase a new unit, our place in the priority list of their service calls seemed to vary. I prefer companies that pay a bit more attention and follow through on everything and I would not mind paying the additional money as it's a trade-off. So if you are in need of just a new heater and/or repair on a model that digitally tells the plumber/heater person in this company what's up - then this is your company. If you have an older one, then I say, find someone more experienced.
Description of Work: Technical Competence: We had an older model of heater (15 years old) which wouldn't light. When the first technician came out, it took him almost all day to troubleshoot the issue. The individual was very courteous and prompt. The first technician called another team member who came out and consulted. After about 3-4 hours - my mind was starting to calculate the expense of this so I asked, just off hand, do you think we need to replace the heater and I got a reply of well that's going to be up to you and it was a bit snarky. After going on day 3 of having no heat in the house - everytime, the heater was fixed and the individual left, it'd shut down again - I finally asked them what the cost of it was to replace it and they were very amenable with folding the previous days of work into the cost of the replacement which was very generous. They came out and gave me a verbal estimate. I had gotten another quote from another plumber that we previously used and they came close. I went with ABQ Plumbing because from a cost perspective, it made sense. They came out at the end of the week to install the new system and after spending more time than they had anticipated (which was not their fault), we had a brand new heater installed in one day. We are happy with the unit they installed, and it seems like an upgrade over our older unit.

Excellent. This is the 2nd time I have used this company. They are polite and professional. They come when they say they will and keep you aprised of what is going on and what they will do to fix it. I would definitely use them and recommend them to anyone needing plumbing work.
Description of Work: Broken fittings and pipe in front yard. Tim and his assistant worked nearly 3 hours digging in the yard to find where the leak was coming from. They cut out and replaced pipe and filled area back, so you could not tell where they digging, etc. had occured.

Very professional, clean, and courteous. Our house is over 50 years old and the connections to the water heater were old and leaking. They delivered and installed a brand new water heater as well as replacing all the old copper pipes and connectors to the water heater. While they were here, we asked them also to look at a leak in the drain for our kitchen sink, which they happily fixed as well. They were very thorough and double-checked their work. They cleaned the work area and left everything in great shape! Kenny had left his clipboard here and when he came back to pick it up he even stuck around for a bit and gave us some free advice on a project that I was doing myself: replacing our kitchen faucet. We can't recommend them highly enough!

Ken Cole came out and looked the job over on Wed. 1/5/11, he showed me all the potential problems that where there and made sure I understood what he was talking about. He explained in detail my options for a replacement furnace and again answered all my questions. On Friday he and his helper Bryn were on time to start the job. From start to finish it only took them an hour and a half. That included upgrading the duck work from the furnace to the house. I am very pleased with these guy and would not think twice about using them again.
Description of Work: My furnace went out on New Year's day, considering the age of the old furnace I wasn't even sure I could find parts. I opted to just replace it with a new more energy friendly model. I got several bids and Albuquerque pluming was the lowest. But that's not why I went with them.

SHowed up for appt on time. Absoluted zero followthru after that including a second attempt to have provider get us bid information. Owner of company subsequently followed up after Angies List report. He went above and beyond the call in providing an estimate and followthrough.
Description of Work: Based on Angie's List recommendation we contacted provider to give us a bid on a new water heater or a tankless water heater. Arrangements were made to leave work on hour early on Tuesday, January 4th. Provider rep showed up on time and was given the parameters for replacing the water heater or using a tankless water heater. Provider verbally said they would have the estimates to us by the next day(Wed). After hearing nothing we called provider on Saturday. Was told that they would have bid for us that day(Sat) or at the latest by MOnday. It's now Tuesday night and no bid has been received.

See above. We were quite happy with the service we received and will rely on this company for future needs.
Description of Work: Ken called ahead and he came when expected, He checked 2 furnaces. Explained furnace maintenance details and gave us instructions for future care. Checked both thermostats and gave us information about the use and programming of those. Checked our gas fireplace, which we had never used in 4 and a half years. Got the fireplace back into working condition and explained the operation of same to both of us. Was quite patient with our questions and gave us a refrigerator magnet in order to contact him in the future. Described the company's services and gave us names of office personnel. Was polite and helpful and friendly. We would call him again without hesitation.

The plumber came on time and checked all of the plumbing inside the house. He addressed all of my concerns and was very courteous.
Description of Work: We had two toilets that were not operating properly. The plumber replaced seals in the toilet tanks and adjusted the flow in each. He also checked all of the drains inside the house, finding that one of the drains had not been firmly attached to the wall drain. The work was done well and the plumber was very courteous and thorough. I've used this company before and have been satisfied both times with their promptness and expertise.

Superb! Matt, Tim and Gary were true professionals from the first minute. You get what you pay for and although slightly higher than other estimates it was a first class install. They listened carefully to what we wanted and worked to completely satisfy those needs. Everyday ended with Tim asking me if we were satisfied and they always ensured our home, indoors and out, was cleaned to our liking. They have "earned" the best possible recommendation I can give them!

Ken came to our house on time (very unusual in our area), provided an estimate, and answered our questions. When I wanted more specific information about the efficiency of models included in our quote, he provided me with the specific model numbers. When there were unforseen electrical box problems Ken referred 2 electricians to help us work through it. Albuquerque Plumbing and Heating took measurements in advance, showed up on time on the scheduled install day, completed their work efficiently, and cleaned up after themselves. I don't know how they fit the unit in our small heating closet without scratching the door jam, but they did. I would hire them again.

The technician was professional and very helpful. Thank you so much.
Description of Work: What a pleasant surprise. After waiting hours for another company, I called and cancelled my appt. and called Albuquerque Plumbing, Heating & Cooling. They were at my door within an hour. Due to my ignorance, there was nothing really wrong, but the Kenny the technician explained very patiently what I shoul do and was kind enough to regrogram my thermostat. What a nice Christmas present. No Charge. Will definitely use them again and refer them to all friends and family.

*********More problems have developed. We will update as corrections to installation are made.**************************** -These folks are very busy. -We recommend that if you choose this company you must insist on a clearly typewritten bid that is updated as changes are encountered and call Noritz to confirm that the installation is to be performed as to specifications. -We should have taken bids from Union plumbing shops, which in our experience have higher quality documentation, installation, and follow up inspection.

We had a kitchen faucet that was broken and could not be fixed. In addition, we had a problem with a leak someplace under the sink that was causing serious damage (rotting) to some particle board beneath the sink. We had thought that the broken faucet might have been the source of the leak. We bought a new faucet at a local home supply store. We left a voice message very early on Monday morning with Albuquerque Plumbing, Heating and Cooling (APHC) to have it installed. APHC called me back promptly around 9 AM and left a voice message for me while I was in a meeting. The voice message was very pleasant and included all the information I needed to call back when I was next available. During the call back, I arranged to have a plumber come to our house sometime "between 11 AM and 2:15 PM" on Tuesday. I stressed that it was important that the work be done by 2:15 PM because I needed to run to a meeting after that time. On Tuesday, the plumber (a man named "Ray") called at 11:24 AM to say that he would be heading over to do the work. He arrived around 11:35 AM. He was very courteous and friendly. HIs customer service skills were excellent. I was very impressed by him. I explained what the issue was and he got to work right away. I needed to be in the kitchen while he worked to make lunch for my kids. He was very conscious of his need to keep the aisle clear so that I could get in and out of the refrigerator, etc. He was also very courteous with my kids. Ray installed the new faucet without delay and also replaced the "angle stop" valve that controls the flow of hot water to the sink. He said that the valve was probably what was causing the leak. That seemed completely reasonable to me. The price was about $10 less than I had budgeted for the job, so I was very happy with that too. I can't say enough how impressed I was with Ray and his company . They did great work for us and I would gladly recommend them to others.

This is a very reputable firm as far as I can tell; they are very responsive and work with you to schedule work at convenient times; the techs are professional and knowledgable; show up when they say they will and "get the job done". I also like that they appear to "assign" you a tech (assuming you like them I guess) so the person who provides your service knows your systems and you. I will continue to call on them for my heating and cooling needs!

It took him around an hour to perform all the services described above. He was very pleasant and had advice for future change outs of furnace and hot water heater. We'll definitely use Albuquerque Plumbing Heating and Cooling again. Also, their phone receptionist/scheduler was most patient and pleasant setting up our appointment.
Description of Work: Cooler temperatures were on the way and we needed our rooftop swamp cooler cleaned, drained and shut down for the winter season. Then the gas furnace was inspected and turned on. The thermostat was programmed. It all worked out great. Our service guy was to arrive between 8-10 am. He called right at 8 am and showed up within 15 minutes.

It could not have gone better, in every way. Ray was my service person. He not only did the basics but found a leak under my house from my house humidifier--a leak that was turning into a lake (he made a video of it for my records). Apparently, it has been there for some time and there have been other service people in my crawl space recently, and no one noticed it but Ray. He thinks it may be responsible for the plaster damage in my hallway and bathroom. No one else has been able to figure this out for me in the past. He found another leak on the roof around my swamp cooler and fixed it. He also went around to the heater vents and tested for carbon monoxide--my "old" service person never offered to do this. My swamp cooler has been making a noise recently, so Ray looked at every part of the cooler to familiarize himself with the situation (my cooler is set up in a whacky way) and he said he would return, personally, in the spring and, not only fix the noise it is making, but also re-work the whole system so it's set up the way it should be. Ray told me I could call him anytime I had questions between now and the spring and made it very clear to me that he really enjoys his job and wants to do what ever it takes to make me a happy customer. And, for all he did, I ended up spending less than what my "old" guy charges me for 10 minutes of work! I feel like I've made a new best friend in Ray. He is marvelous and I will definitely be seeing him again in the spring, and sooner if I need him. He is also an animal lover (I have eight) and he was very conscientious when it came to their needs. I even enjoyed his lyrical Louisiana accent--it reminded me of my childhood spent in that wonderful state! Thank you, Albuquerque Plumbing, Heating and Cooling for hiring someone like Ray.
