Albuquerque Plumbing Heating & Cooling

Our AC compressor stopped working in the evening. I used Angies List to select this company among others listed. A service tech showed up 20 minutes after the call was received and spent another 30 analyzing the problem. He needed a part for the repair that would not be available until the next day. He set the unit to operate temporarily and cooled the house down. Because of the problem with the unit he instructed us to shut it down after it reached the selected temperature. We all slept comfortably.He said he would return about 2:30 pm. He returned promptly at the designated time and 30 minutes later our house was cooling down. I could not have asked for better service. The A/C unit started vibrating so much it sounded like a helicopter was permanently flying over our house. Within 20 minutes of looking at our unit, they determined the blower wheel needed replacing. They went to get the part, came back, and installed it within about 30 minutes.

They are great! I will recommend them to all of my friends!

Our AC stopped putting out cold air Thursday and started making loud noises. It was a very hot day and we knew it would be a very long weekend if we didn't get the unit fixed. Angie's list rated this company very well, but to tell you the truth, we were going to go with who ever got to us first. We called ABQ plumbing heating and cooling and to our surprise, we had an appointment for the next day. Matt was our tech and he was knowledgeable and friendly. He had the problem isolated and went to get the replacement fan, no problem. Here I sit is pleasant cool air, feeling guilty for my neighbors with swamp coolers.

Fantastic service compared to everyone else. I called six companies, and this was the only one that quoted an hourly rate. Everyone else said they would charge by the job. When I asked the other companies how much it would cost me if the job took 1 hour and the parts were $50, they all said they couldn't tell me. It could be $100 or $1000. This company said it cost cost about $250 to do the repair. We actually had a different company come out first, and they quoted $1000 for the repair and said it could even cost more. I'm completely sold on using Albuquerorque Plumbing and Heating for any future needs. I hope I don't need to mention that anyone that would have charged $1000 for this job is a ripoff artist.

We have been using this company, particularly two technicians, Matt and Ray, or various plumbing jobs for the last two years. Extremely competent and professional! Fixed the problem permanently (we've had two other plumbers come out to fix one problem in particular with no success). We will continue to use them!

I really like them. This is the fourth company that I have had in the 4 years that I have lived here and this is the one I am going to stick with. I really do like them a lot. Their charges are reasonable and their work is really good. When you have that service twice a year, you really have to find somebody that you can depend on or you can rely on to tell you that it is working properly.

Technician called to confirm time. He was ahead of his schedule and we agreed to have him come 1/2 hr early. He was professional and courteous. Could not have gone better. I would definitely call ABQ Plumbing and Heating again.

Overall the service was great. It was easy to set of the appointment and the technician was on time and even called when he was on his way. During the inspection he advised us to get a new air filter. I expected that because the old one was over three years old. The next day he came with a new filter, but it was the wrong size. He then recommended another filter which was half the cost and was an easier filter to install. I have tried several companies prior the this one, but i think I've found a company I can stay with.

Came out very promptly. Called when they were going to a little delayed. Matt was very professional and explained what my options were if the problem were to re-occur. We also worked out a reasonable schedule for checking the system in the future and monitoring its condition.

This was the third time we've had the company do work for us. Each time I've called, I've been greeted by a friendly, smiling voice and given an appointment within just a few days. This time, Tim, the plumber, used a power snake to try to clear the sink line. He worked from below (inside the kitchen cabinet) and above (from the roof) but could not get the sink to stop filling with water. He explained to me some possibilities to solve the problem. I was very concerned because it was already Thursday, and I hated the thought of having to wash dishes in the tiny bathroom sink all through the weekend. He made some calls back to his office and said he'd worked it out somehow. Later he called, after speaking with his boss, and set up another appointment on the following day. The next day he came out with a more powerful snake with knives on it - and that did the trick! We did not have to tear up the kitchen floor to get at the pipe that might be plugged (one of the possible solutions we had talked about the day before). He must have spent almost 2 hours working on each of the two days but only charge us for 1.5 hours total - because, he said, he had not solved the problem on the first day. This was not the first time this company has refused to charge us when the plumber felt he might not have solved the problem. We are now big fans of Albuquerque plumbing - not only for the quality of their work but for their honesty. We wouldn't even consider using anyone else in the future.

I called to make an appointment and one was scheduled within a couple of days of when I asked. On the day of the service, the service person called to let me know he was on his way and was very punctual. When he arrived, the service was performed quickly and professionally. I have already recommended Albq Plumbing and Heating to several people who have used them and were also happy with their service.

Kenny tried to call me on my cell before he came by, but had copied the number off by one digit (something we all do occasionally), so I missed him. I called him a little later the same day, and he made it a point to come by later -- even though it was well after most folks would quit work (especially on a weekend). It would have been awful to have been left in the lurch with this messy situation for another day. He was polite and professional. Even though this would have normally been a two-person job, he was able to do it on his own and call his colleague back before he arrived - saving me $100! My sewer problems are resolved, and I can guarantee that I will call on Kenny & crew again in the future if I have any plumbing problems. Thumbs way up!

The most professional, courteous, punctual, knowledgeable, affordable and just plain nice company I've dealt with in years. Prompt scheduling of an appointment for an estimate with very friendly office staff. Gentleman arrived and looked over my situation, provided an estimate, and I scheduled the service appointment. When Tim, the man doing the work showed up, he very clearly explained that I had purchased some of the wrong replacement equipment, so he went out of his way to work with my busy schedule and make another appointment. The day of the appointment, I received a phone call telling me Tim was running a little late with an emergency call: did I want to reschedule, or was the slight delay okay? I didn't mind waiting, and shortly later, got another nice call telling me he was on his way. He used a chipping hammer to level my wonky floor, and installed my new toilet, yay! He left everything clean and picked up, and explained exactly how to protect my new toilet (it's a smaller low-flow, so it doesn't butt up against the wall the way my old one did.) He replaced a shower faucet, and we discussed replacing the spout, but it is so calcified, there was a chance the copper behind it would break, and I'd rather have an old spout than a broken pipe, so I decided to hold off on that until I REALLY redo the whole bathroom. Tim also explained about Albuquerque Plumbing's ability to replace my old tub quickly, and I think I'll do that within the next year, and worry about updating the fixtures then. The cost was much less than I expected, and more than fair. I expected to pay a lot more, but Tim pointed out how long he'd worked. . .and I wasn't going to argue. 10% discount for Angie's List customers, too. I highly recommend this company, and am so happy to have found a plumbing company I can trust to do a great, conscientious job. I really feel that all the decisions I made (with ABQ Plumbing's help) were the best: I got what I needed at a very fair price, and didn't risk incurring any unnecessary costs. Thanks! They can use me for a reference anytime.

He gave a good estimate. Their price was reasonable. They were very responsive. They came and did the work which they said they would do. They did the work successfully. I have already recommended them. I would use them in the future.

I had an old swamp cooler removed and a new Aerocool installed. They were very professional, easy to work with, and they cleaned up everything including hauling the old cooler away. Price was a bit higher than other bids but worth it. Would use them again.

I've used them so much that I got them on my speed dial. When you have rental properties you need plumbers. They are very responsive and I had one incident that I reported back when we were having the freeze. They will make sure they show up in the two hour window they give you and they call you before they are there. Even if it's a five minute delay they will call you to keep you informed. Actually being a member of Angie's List I got a discount. We were the coldest state in US for a couple of days so we had water pipes bursting all over the town. Somehow when I called about the sewage problem, the people in the office came out instead of the owner who normally looks at things didn't come, so that's how busy they were. When they saw a sewer line, they took off from the list and put it down the list. I kind of got upset about it because when you have sewer bagging up the house you have major health problems. We talked about it and figured out what happened and I've used them six or seven times since then.

My husband dug the trench from the meter to the house. Albuquerque Plumbing replaced the line. They also replaced the front yard and back yard spigots for us. The plumbers were prompt, efficient, and professional. The estimate quoted was the amount we were charged. We were very happy with this company and highly recommend them.

I found them on Angie's List. I would recommend them the most as they are very good. They are prompt and their pricing seems fair. They are courteous and their work ethic is very good.

First I should say that every plumber that has come out has been professional, courteous, and knowledgeable - they know what they are doing and I have had many different things done with this company, and their quality work is consistent. The secretaries are very nice on the phone,and bend over backwards to get everything set up or to get you in. I will report on the biggest job done in detail (installing a new furnace), but all jobs were done excellently and on a timely basis. The guys call before they come and keep in touch with you. Every step of the way when they are in your home, they are professional Also, they always give estimates if you request - they are accurate and very helpful. It took about a day and a half with the furnace. They came on time, immediately got to work, were very precise in what they did, made very little mess (and cleaned up any they made), and were very focused on what they were doing all day long, and the next morning. They had gone over with me beforehand what type of furnace would fit in the closet where the old furnace was. There were computations that had to be done ahead of time, and they must have been accurate because everything fit just right. They also informed me in detail about an available rebate, giving me the necessary forms - this got me a great tax credit. If the had not told me, I would never have known. A few days after the job was done it became apparent that an outflow pipe that they had installed coming outside the back wall of my home was too long, and it needed to be cut. They came right out and fixed it. The furnace worked perfectly all Winter, I had no problems. I am very happy with this company.

Matt fixed my mini-split heating unit!!! He wasn't the first person to ever work on it, but he's the only one who didn't grumble about it. He also explained some stuff about it to me that will help me next time it breaks (i.e. logical replacements).

Ken was here on time, changed over my swamp cooler for the season, told me about their annual service contract, which I purchased for $199 tax, and answered a bunch of questions about other heating and plumbing issues I have, or might have in the future. Plus I got a same-day appointment!

It went great! First off, Ray finished his day early and called to let me know he could come earlier than scheduled. He got right to work and finished quickly. I cannot say enough about Ray (I ask for him, personally). He is prompt, professional and thorough. He checks everything you can think of and does it with a great big smile. He is very friendly and courteous--it's obvious he loves what he does and wants to do the best job he can for you. To the owner of Alb, Plumbing, Heating and Cooling: you definitely did the right thing by hiring Jay--don't let him get away!!
