He answered the phone on a Saturday(himself). We got an appt. for Monday @12:30. He was 15 minutes early and finished in a half an hour. His work was great and the price was fair. Very professional. I'm joining the chorus of great reviews--this guy's great.

I've used them twice. The experience was positive. He answers his phone, which is nice. He is very nice and does a good job. He is quick. The price was very reasonable especially the first time he came for a house call. I haven't compared prices. I will absolutely continue to use him.

Called same day that I sent request, set up time to come out for estimate, he was on time, set a price and time for installation, he was on time for that, completed the job in two hours and provided instructions and helped set the key pad remote.

The cable detached on one side of our garage door. We called a different company (A ASAP) who came out and initially quoted $395, then said they could not fix it and that both tracks needed to be replaced, then charged $50 just for coming out. I checked out Angie's LIst, found A-1, and called. He was out the following day and fixed the garage door in about thirty minutes. He was professional, courteous, and definitely knows his stuff. This is our garage door company from now on.

He arrived exactly on time (which we appreciate). Fixed it all pretty quick and he just seemed like a really nice guy.

He came to my house the same day that I called and did the job in about an hour. He asked relevant questions on the phone when I called so that he had the right parts with him when he came. The door has worked perfectly since he fixed it.

I have used A-1 Garage Doors on three occasions at two different homes. The first time repairs were needed I called some of the larger companies advertising 24 hour emergency service. They were sorry but they could not get to my problem for two days. I called A-1 and Mike Jackson responded in a matter of hours. This has been the case every time A-1 has been called for repairs. Mike always comes to the job with the correct parts to effect the repair. The third call was for a balky garage door opener. Mike determined that a gear was worn and close to complete failure. He gave me the option of repair or replace and due to the age of the opener I decided to replace it. Mike had a new opener on his truck and had installed in an hour at a fair price. I will always call A-1 for repairs in the future.

I called Mike on June 21 because my garage door would not open using the switch or remote control. I was having to manually open and close the door. He said he could be here at noon the next day. He was at my door at noon. He looked at the door, checked the sensors, and showed me where a spring had come off the pully. He fixed it right away and said that was all that was wrong there wasn't anything that needed to be repaired. I ask about the switch and he said he could replace it, it didn't always work the first time. He said he would be back at 9:30 the next day and he was. He replacced the switch, lubricated the rollers and showed me how to fix the spring and sensors if I had problems again. He also said he saw me working on the outside keyless entry when he was leaving the day before and wanted to know if I needed any help with it. He was very polite and professional. A very refreshing change from some of my more recent experiences. I will definitly use him again and recommend him to anyone who needs work on a garage door.

It is difficult for me to get away from work during the work week. So, Mike came the next day, Saturday morning, to replace the opener. He was finished in about an hour. He is very punctual. I am thrilled with the new opener and the service.

I called Mike on Monday to see if he was available for a Thursday morning appointment the same week to check out my garage door and he was. I'm not used to having someone available at my convenience. Then he called a few minutes prior to the appointment time to let me know that he might be a few minutes late, but he surprised himself and me by only being 3 minutes late. I showed him the problem with the broken torsion spring, he told me what may have caused it, how he would fix it and gave me the price and that he could fix it immediately. I was so impressed with his professionalism and preparedness that I gave the go-ahead. He was done in 30 minutes! He even lubricated the door opener as part of the service. Now the door works beautifully and the cost was significantly less than a new door! I highly recommend Mike!

Mike showed up a few minutes earlier than promised, determined immediately what the problem was, quoted a price, and finished the job in no more than 10 minutes. He did not attempt to sell me an entirely new garage door opener, when the old one needed just a replacement part. Excellent all around. Highly recommended!

Mike had come out before, installing a new garage door opener one time, then, another time, after I hit the door with my van, he came out the same day to repair (although I had cracked the door and knew it would have to be replaced down-the-road) and get the door working again (this was over a year ago). So, this time, he came out on a Tuesday, gave me the estimate on the door, and installed the door two days later. Very professional and knowledgable. He knows his stuff and you feel like you couldn't do any better.

Responded quickly to voice mail requesting service, set appointment at that time, 2 days in future. Called prior to arrival, because he was running a few minutes late, I hadn't even noticed. Suggested lower cost repair, but gave estimate for replacement. Made repair. Very courteous.

I had Mike Jackson(A-1 Garage door) stop by to look at my garage door and motor. Motor was broke. Mike troubleshot the problem and said all I needed was to have the garage door motor serviced. I told him that I wanted a new door and motor because what I had was very old(door) and worn out. He was very helpful in picking out exactly what we needed. He ordered the parts. This took about 3 weeks to come in(Dalton door). He called me when the new door and parts came in and we set up date for him to install. He completed the install in little over three hours. He was very prompt and courteous and explained everything and cleaned up well when done. I would highly recommend A-1 doors for anyone having problems with their garage door or anyone looking for a new door

Mr. Jackson was professional, clear in his communication and fair in his pricing. There was no business "run-around" as to getting a more expensive system if it was not necessary. Later on, we had a question and he responded promptly with a clear answer. Definitely go with this company.

Mike arrived on time for a free estimate. The estimate was in line with the estimated replacement price that the insurance company had given me. I set up an appointment for replacement and Mike was prompt again. The newly installed door looks good and operates smoothly. The service was friendly and professional. The only slight issue with the job is that he had to cut off the existing support brackets from the garage ceiling and install new ones due to different dimensions of the new track - so the base of the old brackets stick out a bit from the ceiling, but it is a garage after all and not a bedroom.
