Excellent. After checking Angie's List, I callled A-1. The next morning Mike called and said he had "an opening" at 12:30 p.m. Although I had done a little more internet research, and thought I would try it again (with a motorcycle helmet for safety), I asked how much. He told me $60. Perfect -- a late extended lunch hour from work and cheaper than my medical co-pay! Mike showed up exactly at 12:30, even though I live near the base of the Tram. I was worried that he would be late, thereby making me take additional time off from work. He was done in ten minutes, and lubed both of my garage doors. I was impressed by his responsiveness, promptness, friendliness, and quality of work. He also honored the 10% Angie's discount coupon, which I never told him about previously. Most mechanics make additional money by selling parts. Even though I bought the spring from another company the previous day, this didn't seem to bother Mike, or cause him to raise his prices. Don't tell Mike, but I paid over $60 for the spring from Wayne Dalton. I don't want to know, but I bet A-1 would have charged me less than that. I will definitely use A-1 for the next broken garage door spring; and strongly recommend hime to everyone I know. As a first time user of Angie's List, I amalso sold on this service too for selecting services.

Mike does an outstanding job. This is the second time I've used Mike and both times I have been completely satisfied. I have used garage door service companies in the past and it was always a situation where I never trusted that I was being dealt with honestly and that they were more interested in selling parts, equipment, service that I didn't need. In the case with Mike, I trust him explicitly and I know that he will do everything possible to make sure that I actually need something. If he says that I need a new garage door opener (at some point), I'll believe him...yesterday, he serviced it but said it didn't need replacing yet. Workman like Mike are hard to come by; when you find someone that's honest, reasonable, and professional, hold on to them!

Mike arrived on time (actually 10 minutes early). He listened to the problem we were having and immediately determined we had a sensor problem. He checked all the wire connections, found the problem and quickly corrected the issue. He also checked the door balancing, made some minor adjustments and lubricated the moving parts. Finally he added some additional hardware to the sensors to minimize the chance that they misalign. Very honest and knowledgeable and I would definitely call or recommend Mike to others.

The reason I am filing this report is that I less than a month later I called another garage door company. This company came out and thoroughly greased my garage doors and gave them a good overhaul PLUS changed out my old outdated(large!) and non working remotes with a new and modern small remote, plus made sure that it worked before leaving my residence. There was a clearly audible difference in the sound the garage doors made when rolling up and down after this service. This garage door company stated that the garage doors were in dire need of greasing to stay working well, and that they would be good for many years to come. - This less than a month after the previous company had been there. Do I need to say more?

I found them on Angie's List and used a Big Deal for this work. I will use them again in the future.

He was really excellent. He had about thirty or forty positive reviews on the site. I called and I left him a message and then I called him again the next day and he had somehow missed my message. He came I think the following day and was very quick to finish. I had no problem. I would use him again in the future.

I paid a fair amount for the job. Before this they did some temporary repairs. They were very friendly, fast and they gave me great service. Their price seemed to be very good. They did a good job. I didn’t actually meet with the guy.

I was VERY impressed with Mike and recommend him highly based on my experience with him last week. I read the user reviews on Angie's List and noticed he had only excellent / great reviews/ ratings so I called him. I told him what our problem was over the phone (which was a very old Garage Door not closing all the way). He came out exactly when he said he would and quickly fixed the problem. Even though our garage doors and the garage door openers are very old. He never once tried to "up sell" his services. He just fixed the problem. No extra sales pitch or anything. It is such a relief to find honest, affordable and competent small business owners. I recommend him highly. I had one other larger company come out before him and they were professional but very much geared towards "sales" rather than just fixing the problem I called about.

I backed into the partially open door and made a mess of it. Called and he came that day and made temporary repairs so that the door functioned until he could schedule installing a replacement. The following Monday he was here and installed a new door, tracks and all the connections for alarms and the like. He was prompt, professional and courteous. I would hire him again in a flash.

. I was advised of further work and some parts that were needed to correct the problems. The estimates were reasonable and Mike was very professional, thorough and explained everything clearly. He returned on the date we had scheduled and completed the work.He also advised that if I had any problems to call him. I was very pleased with the entire experience and will use him in the future for any repairs to my garage door..

As above - no charge- not able tomake the metal on metal sound stop. I have had 3 different services on that door in past 3 years. Only one glitch in phone number he called was transposed number then I called him and he came right out within 20-30 minutes.

Overall everything went A-1 perfect. Mr Jackson removed, installed, adjusted and tested everything in about 8 hours of work.He is experienced, equipped and efficient.

One of the overhead springs on our 2 car garage door broke just after closing the door. Called Mike at A-1 guaranteed garage door the next morning. Same day service - he was there within 2 hours. Prompt and on time - courteous and professional - Had all the parts with him. We had him replace both springs on the door. He completed work in 40 minutes, greased and adjusted everything while he was there. Price was great and service was wonderful. Will use Mike anytime I have garage door issues

No complaints at all. Mr. Jackson was prompt, courteous, competent, and congenial. He went straight to work and made sure that all parts were tight, secure and workable. The doors operate much better after servicing.

MIke did a great job. I'm glad I was able to reach him for immediate service.

Three calls - first, intermittent failure, he serviced the door. Later, diagnosed a intermittent short; third call, replaced system - on a Saturday.

After obtaining an estimate from another well known garage door company (approximately $1200), A1 came out promptly, gave us an estimate of just under $500--same services, same parts! A1 replaced the motor and broken parts. The work was stellar. He replaced only the parts that needed to be replaced, as opposed to the competitor who said we need all new parts. We were amazed at the speed at which the work was performed, as well as the thoroughness and great attitude we experienced. If you need garage door work, call this guy. He's a real professional!

Mike arrived early to our apointment to evaluate the problem. He identified the broken spring quickly and gave me an estimste right away. Mike was fully booked for the next day so he came at 7:30 the next morning before his first scheduled job. Within 30 minutes, he installed a new spring and bar assembly which functions better than the original equipment. Mike knows his trade and is very efficient. Without reservation, I recommend this contractor.

Mike was great. He was punctual, efficient, and very professional in every aspect. I will definitely use him again and highly recommend him.

Mike sold us a new garage door and installed it for us. He sold us a better series door than the local home improvement store for much less. Mike was punctual, professional and did an outstanding job. I would definitely recommend for any of your garage door repairs or to have your garage door replaced!

He was great. I called in the morning and told him what the problem was and he said he would be here by 5 o’clock in the afternoon and showed up at 5 o’clock. He took a quick look at the door and gave me an estimate at that point and he said he could do it right then and he was done within an hour. I didn’t get an estimate from anybody else but I was satisfied with the price. He quoted me $250 to do the door and he gave me 10% discount because I found him through Angie’s List. It is a small business and I think he runs it out of his home. I would use him again in the future if necessary.
