Mike arrived on time, removed the old door, and installed the new one in less than 3 hours! He works hard and is very systematic in his approach. He removed the old door and took care of disposing and recycling it appropriately. He cleaned up all packaging, etc. Overall, he was very competent and professional. I will not hesitate to call on him in the future.

I called Mke at 8:00 AM to see if he could repair my garage door the same day. He said his schedule was full for the day, but he would stop by at 6:30 PM. At 6:00 the doorbell rang and Mike was there. He said he had finished a little early and thought he would stop by. He checked out the door and said he had a spring that would work and began the repair.While inspecting the door, he noticed that a cable was damaged and also needed to be replaced. The cable and spring both got replaced and he verified the operation and smoothness of the garage door opener. The whole process took about 35 minutes. When he presented the bill, it was very reasonable and he did not charge for the cable he replaced. I found Mike to be friendly, fast and very efficient. Excellent service. He was very quick, only took 30 minutes to fix. He was also the most reasonably priced among the other companies I contacted. He was a really nice fellow.

My garage door was making a huge racket for awhile and suddenly wouldn't function. I noticed that the spring was broken and called a few places for an estimate on Friday. Mike at A-1 had the best price AND came out the next day (Saturday). He was at the door 5 minutes earlier than scheduled and besides replacing the spring which was the only item on the original estimate; he also showed me that the door had been hitting the header and was cracked and bent. He straightened the door and added a brace. He re-attached cables that had come off. He greased the rollers. He showed me that the tension was at a dangerous level and adjusted it to work properly. After doing all that in half an hour the price was still the same as the original estimate and he honored the Angie's List coupon to boot. I would recommend this company in a heartbeat and thank you so much for a great job!

I recently purchased a home that had a very old garage door opener. I called and left a message for Mike to schedule installation of a replacement unit. I was pleased by Mike's responsiveness. He returned my call within just a few minutes. I live out of state and was going to be in town working on the house for a short period of time. Mike was able to accommodate my schedule and we set up an installation date. Mike arrived as scheduled, actually a few minutes early. He was very personable and professional. He removed the old opener, installed the new one and set up an entry keypad. He hauled away the old opener and left a clean work area. He provided business cards and told me to contact him if I have any problems or concerns. Mike had a discount coupon available on Angies List at the time of the installation. I had seen the coupon but forgotten to print it before leaving home. I had not planned to bring it up but Mike asked if I had the coupon. After telling him that I left home without it, Mike was generous enough to apply the discount despite the fact that I did not have the coupon. I really appreciated that. We also briefly discussed the condition of my garage door. The door will require replacement in the next year or so. I will definitely contact Mike when it's time to install the replacement door. Overall a very positive experience. I would not hesitate to use Mike again or recommend him to others.

I called and left message asking for an estimate at 7:30am. Mike called me back at 7:40am and we set up an appt that day at 4:30pm. Mike arrived on time, performed work as he indicated he would. Greate experience. Will use A-1 next time we need garage door service.

My garage door opener was not working and I called Mike to come check it. He was very prompt, the same day, and very professional. He explained the problem with the old opener and recommended a new replacement. The new opener was installed the next day. When my old keyless entry pad wouldn't work with the new opener, he installed a new one at no extra cost. I called him again when the spring on my garage door broke and the door wouldn't open. Mike came out the same day and installed a new spring. I will definitely call A-1 the next time I have problems with my garage door.

The reason I gave Michael a "B" in Professionalism is because of a racist comment he made, maybe thinking I have the same prejudice against a certain group of people. One should never espouse racism to a customer. I didn't appreciate that. I was taken aback at the time but regret that I didn't speak up when he said it. My Mother taught me to not let these things slip by. I would definitely use Michael's services again if he would take a lesson from my comments. I believe he's an honest, good person.

I called Mike late on a Friday afternoon and left a message. He returned my call early Saturday, and gave me an estimate for the job. I asked his opinion about the brand and type of opener I was planning on buying and he said it was a good choice. There was absolutely no pressure to purchase the unit from him. I said I would call back after I did a little more research. I called back Monday morning and we arranged a time on Wednesday when he could do the job. He arrived when he said he would, went immediately to work and finished quicker than I expected. He did the job in less time than it would have taken me to read thru the install instructions. He programmed both handheld remotes and an exterior keypad, and explained the features of the new system.Mike is a very friendly outgoing guy and before he left we chatted about our previous military experience. He ended up charging me less than the original estimate because the install turned out be easier than expected. Before he left he gave me his business card and told me to call if I had any problems. I recommend him highly and would definitely use him again.

He was able to be here at a time that was convenient for me, showed up on time, and completed the job quickly. He had the proper parts and the door works fine now.

Michael was right on time which was a feat in itself as I live in the boondocks of Sandia Park.NM.It is not easy to find my home.He was here about 50 minutes and had it fixed good as new(also amazing as my garage door opener is ancient!!) I had knocked the threshold off the door 2 years ago when I backed out of the garage too fast.I didn't even ask him to fix that but he did so simply as a kindness.Professional,considerate,honest....who could ask for more?! My printer was acting up and I could not print the angie's list discount,but he honored it anyway.What a nice guy! Such help is hard to find these days.I so appreciate him and know you will be pleased also!

Mike was very prompt, early even and completed the work in less than half an hour. My garage door was very noisy and I had tried lubricating with sprays to no avail. Mike checked out everything and lubricated the noisy parts - my garage has never been so quiet! Mike also pointed out areas (springs) that I needed to keep my eye on in case of any future trouble. I used A-i Guaranteed Garage Doors thru an Angie's Big Deal and it was more than worth it. Will use them again if have any more troubles with my garage door.

He lubricated the door and it works much better now. He was prompt, competent, and didn't try to sell us another garage door opener. He fixed this to allow us to get by with this door opener for awhile longer. He was very nice. I referred him to my friend who also had garage door problems and he fixed their door.

He gave me an estimate for the work needed and we agreed on 9:30 the following Tuesday. He showed up at 9:30 on Tuesday. He replaced the garage door opener and put in a new bottom seal on the door. He also installed new rollers and adjusted various tensions. This was done on a heavy steel door circa 1975, which I wanted to keep. He was done in two hours. Mike's final price was $45 less than the estimate because the seal took less time than expected. He was cordial and professional in every respect throughout the service.

We called Mike, who came out within an hour and fixed the door, and gave us a 10% discount on the service for being an Angie's List member. He was prompt, pleasant, and professional. I'd use his company again and also highly recommend him.

Used the Angie Coupon for a Garage Door Tune Up. This is a privately owned/operator company. When you call you will speak to the owner who performs the work. Was very satisfied with the inspection and maintenance of a garage door that needed attention. About a month after the inspection our main spring broke. Called A-1 for the repair. Service was excellent and the price was lower than well known competitors in the area.

I called Mike at A-1 and explained the problem. Based on the age of the door, Mike made a couple of suggestions. He said he could come out that day or the next. We agreed on a time the next morning, he was there right on time. Mike is a great guy, very professional, made the repairs, also made adjustments to the opener to make it run more quietly. I also needed a new remote which I forgot to mention over the phone, but he had one with him. Charged the price he quoted over the phone. Just a very good experience. I will absolutely use him again.
