A1 Guaranteed Garage Doors

I asked him about repairing a malfunctioning door opener. He said it needs to be replaced, and gave me an estimate for new doors and new openers. He offered to apply the fee I'd paid towards the products he offered. He gave me no information about repairing what I had, which is what I expected when I bought an 'inspection and repair'. Not a Great Deal! Without his help, I have since found ways to repair my existing doors. It was a waste of good money!

I contacted A-1 after one of the springs broke on garage door early in the morning. Mike scheduled me for repair during his lunch hour the same day. He arrived on time and replaced springs and noticed that the door did not close smoothly. He then relocated the bottom rollers on door solving the problem. His charge included a 10% discount for Angie's List subscriber, which I thought to waive since he solved the additioinal roller problem. He insisted that I take the discount. Door has worked well since.

One of the torsion springs on our garage door broke recently. The bottom weather strip has been non-functional for a long time. Yesterday afternoon I called Mike Jackson to request replacement of the two springs and the weather strip. He was able to schedule it for today at 1 pm. He arrived 5 minutes early and completed the work in about an hour. Mike was friendly, but professional. He didn't try to sell me anything extra. His prices seem less than other companies. Maybe because he, the owner, does all the work himself. The door is quieter than before. It's been working fine for two whole hours now. (lol) I would recommend Mike to others.

He is wonderful. I had to call him back and he came back and made adjustments right away and everything is good.

One of our garage door springs was already broken then yesterday the other spring broke. I couldn't get the door open at all! The next morning, I searched Angie's list and decided to call A-1 Guaranteed Garage Doors. I called and spoke to Mike. He asked a few questions about the problem and was able to give me an estimate right over the phone-He didn't waste any time which in my opinion means he knows what he's doing! He was able to come the very same day! He was on time, prepared, and did a great job in a short period of time. I would recommend him to anyone who likes good work and good service. Thanks Mike!!

I had no idea how to pick a garage door repair person or what was exactly wrong. I looked on Angie's List and found A-1 garage door company. Mike Jackson is the owner. He returned my call promptly. The day of the service he showed up promptly,even a bit early. He fixed the middle rod in a very short time and did a detailed inspection on the door. He found a horribly frayed cable which would have broken in a short time. Yes, I saw it myself so I know he was telling me the truth. He replaced the cable swiftly. He balanced my door. He went way above the average repair job I have ever had and his work was exceptional. His pricing was way below what I expected. He is highly skilled, honest, and I would recommend his to everyone with no hesitati

ike arrived on time to replace a hinge between two garage door panels. He had the part with him and performed the replacement in less than 10 minutes. He checked all the other hinges and the complete garage door operations, also greased the rail and chain.Very courteous and professional service, cost was well below competitor.

Wonderful. As I stated above, if you're using another garage door company you're missing the boat and paying too much money. A-1 and Mike are absolutely sterling and I recommend you use A-1 for all your garage door issues.

Late Monday afternoon after trying to get the garage door to shut (it kept stopping), I kept trying and the opener seemingly blew up. We called Mike (after finding him on Angies List) and told him the problem. He said he was booked the next day but since it seemed we were really in a bind he would come out at 7:30 in the morning. He arrived at exactly 7:30.....checked for the problem and installed a new capacitor which he had in his truck. Wow, we were expecting to have to get a new opener. The part cost $75.00 and we got 10% off for using Angie's List so we are hoping he made some money somewhere in there. He was very professional! He also oiled the door and it works perfectly now. We are thrilled to be able to know where to go when something goes wrong.

I bought a garagr door opener and decided I could not do the installation. I called the store where I bought it and couldn't get a fixed install date in less than a week. I called Mike and he came out the following work day. He did the installation very professionally and even had to come back because part of the opener was defecrive and I had to go back to the store and get it replaced. He didn't charge me any more even thought he had to come back to finish.

Mike came early! He was amazing. He worked quietly for 3 hours installing our new garage door opener. He was professional and worked for a great price. I recommend him and will use him again.

Mike (the owner) arrived 15 min early, and completed the spring replacement quickly (about 1/2 hour). He explained what he'd done, tested the door, and drove away. Twenty minutes later, when I operated the door, it would not close properly--though it had worked fine when I tested it myself after Mike departed. I called Mike, explained what was happening, and he told me how to adjust the door closing feature. That didn't work, so I called him again. He was in the middle of a another job, and thought he couldn't return until the next day, but he finished that job ahead of schedule and returned to my house en route his next appointment. He watched the door operation, immediately saw a problem with one track, then removed the cover from the door opener motor and made several adjustments inside the mechanism. Result -- a door that now works perfectly. Mike is good natured, experienced, totally professional, and ensures that his work is completed properly. In this case, he went out of his way to perform services that normally would have required a separate service call, but he fixed the problem and declined to charge me for the additional work (I did tip him, anyway). In my book, this is a highly reliable company.

I contacted Mike to schedule removal and replacement of my existing garage door. The work was done on a rental property. I live out of state and did not have the door measurements available when I called to set the appointment. Mike agreed to go by the house and measure the door. I appreciated that extra service. Mike was able to schedule an appointment that coincided with a trip I was making to Albuquerque. This is the second time I have hired Mike. He previously replaced my garage door opener. My experience this time was as positive as the last. Mike responded to my call quickly, arrived a bit early to the appointment and got right to work. He is professional and does a great job. The new door looks great and operates perfectly. I highly recommend him.

Last month I purchased the Special offered by A-1 Guaranteed Garage Doors to inspect and service the garage door. I had just moved into this house and the home inspection report said the garage door need to be balanced. I called Mike, the owner, and he came over to look at it. He balanced the door, oiled it and showed me how to change the code on the keypad. He was very prompt, courteous and helpful. A month later there was a problem with the garage door catching after it started to close, and it wouldn't go down all the way. I called Mike and he came out and fixed that problem, no charge. I am very pleased with Mike's work on my garage door and will call him again if any other problems arise.

A spring broke on Tuesday evening, rendering the door inoperative. I called A-1 Wednesday morning, and the owner Mike scheduled for a technician to arrive between 4:30 and 5:30 pm on the same day, which I really appreciated. The tech arrived at 5:39, apologized for being late, and offered a discount which I thought was above an beyond for being 9 minutes late at the end of the day with same-day service. He determined the correct size springs for the type of door I have, very quickly did the installation, and made a small adjustment to the door opener mechanism to adapt to the strength of the new springs. He then installed a new roller to replace one previously broken off when SOMEBODY backed into the garage door from inside the garage. He knew exactly what he was doing. Changing the roller took quite a bit of effort because we had stuff in the way that made it impracticable to remove the rails. It appeared that he did not charge for the roller replacement at all. These guys are real gentlemen and I will definitely call them next time we need garage door work.
