John was very helpful with guiding us in the design and with choosing quality products. Everything turned out beautifully. We have other projects that need to be done in the house and wouldn't think of hiring anyone else but John.

This is my SECOND TIME using John, and just like last time, everything went fantastically! It was also reassuring to see the same faces in his crew from two years ago! They all remembered my last project and so they knew my design preferences which made things go so more smoothly. John is always very patient and works hard to make sure I get exactly what I want. In this case, I had a vintage pedestal sink that I wanted to use in the bathroom. There was no way to buy parts to install this old sink, but John was familiar with these old fixtures, and he was able to come up with a way to get it installed properly and safely and, best of all, without destroying or sacrificing its historical integrity. This was my first time doing a bathroom remodel and so I had many design ideas that I wanted to do. John worked with me through the planning process, going over so many pictures I had saved online, so that we were both on the same page about the scope of the job and the level of detail that I wanted. John was careful to advise me of any risks or advantages to all of my ideas, and we worked together, sometimes even with his crew, to come up with the best way to make things look good, and how I wanted in the end. Overall, the execution of the remodel went beautifully! I knew from before that they work with a very good attention to detail, and this time was no different. My mosaic floor is perfect, and they executed the entire design flawlessly! No detail is left out. I could not ask for more. They deliver a superior level of work every time. Once again, I am so happy with the work he did and will definitely use him again!

From our initial meeting, I felt very comfortable with John. He provided great insight and useful suggestions from the outset and supervised the work throughout. John's initial quote was very competitive and he stuck by the budget, no annoying add ons for seemingly small changes. He also allowed me to procure my own supplies, even after using his distributer to make initial selections, thereby allowing me to save a little money and stay within budget. Finally, I am very satisfied with the workmnship, the tile work is superb, and John is even coming back this week to do some finishing touches ( try to get that service with most contractors). I highly recommend John and Elegant Home Improvement for your next bathroom project . I know he will be doing mine later this Spring!

We had Elegant Home Improvement refinish two stairwells and hallways in our Church's Rectory. This is an older building that has original wood work and hardwood flooring. John came with great ideas for the re-finishing work. He sanded the stairs and the treads as well as the landings and the hallways. He re-stained the floors and stairs. He installed new banisters and decorative spindles. He brighten up the stairwells and hallways by adding white shadowboxes to the bottom of walls utilizing a chair rail to break up the wall and color. He took great care in protecting the original wood work trim around doors and windows. The entire project was skillfully done and the it gives an old building an updated classic but yet modern look. The Team at Elegant Home Improvement is great to work with they are respectful of the space they are working in. Any home improvements create disruption around the home but they worked to ensure that the inconvenience was minimal and that the job site was cleaned at the end of each day. Given that they were working on two stairs wells from the 2nd floor to the basement; they made sure to work on one side from start to finish before moving to the opposite side as to not prevent access to the 2nd floor or to the basement one staircase was always accessible for use. We are so pleased with the work that we have recommended them to other churches in the area.

John and crew were just terrific! They put down a bead of special caulk to keep water from trickling into the basement. The crew came promptly, spent several hours cleaning and preparing the surfaces and putting down the caulk. They cleaned up nicely before they left. John felt that the caulk was just a temporary solution since the slanted porch causes a puddle of water to soak up against the house's cedar shakes. He refused to give us a bill for the time he spent here because he didn't think the fix was permanent. We will ask him to replace the porch when the weather gets warmer. We're thrilled to have such a caring and competent contractor!

The job went pretty smoothly. We had trouble with the manufacturer of the steel beam as they didn't drill the proper holes in the beam per specifications. It delayed the project, but that was not the fault of Elegant. Our cat snuck into the garage and left footprints in the wet concrete, but John graciously came back to smooth that over for us. The team was very hardworking, pleasant, neat, and professional. We've already used them again for some other work at the house and are delighted with the results. We've been burned in the past by inept contractors, but now that we have found an honest and reliable one, we are thinking we might do some more renovations.

The ceiling fan the kitchen pull switch was no longer working and broke off at a point where it could not be replaced. On the advice of John, we purchased a new ceiling fan and remote. John came over with in a few days after purchasing the new fan and installed the fan and universal remote. He even took the time to patch the kitchen ceiling since the original fan base was larger than the new fan. My wife loves the remote that he mounted on the wall it makes it easier for her to turn the light on and off and to adjust the fan without having to stand on her toes. It is always a pleasure to work with John, he is friendly, professional and really cares for his customers. He is a Super Service Provider for sure.

No work was done as I never had the courtesy of a returned phone call to get an estimate.

We had a great experience with John and his crew. He was quick to respond to our call and give us an estimate He understood that we were under a strict time table and was able to start work right away. We called about 10+ contractors before John, most wouldn't even come to give us an estimate or said they wouldn't be able to start work for a few months! We already felt like we lucked out! John was a pleasure to work with, he was extremely knowledgeable, and felt very trustworthy, we knew we were in good hands. Once we received permits he had the job done in just a day or two! Everything looked great, and still does months later.... very high quality work! We were doing lots of other renovations in the house and were working with lots of other companies on various projects, Elegant Home did our biggest project and it was the most stress free. Great quality, great price, low stress... what more could we ask for!

This was an unexected repair that was needed. The drain was leaking under the kitchen sink. I immediately called John at Elegant Home Improvement as he is my go to contractor and within 48 hours he was at my house repairing the drain. He also installed a new faucet for me at this time. He even took the time to go shopping with me to pick out a new kitchen facuet that same day. I wouldn't trust my home improvements to anyone but John and his team at Elegant Home Improvement. He is always there for his customers. He is highly recomended.

I am so happy with my new favorite contractor, John from Elegant Home Improvement. Even my dog loves him and she hates everyone! I got a sense that I could trust him right away. He truly cares about the quality of work he is doing on your home, and he doesn?t want to cut corners just to make things cheaper, because he knows you will not be happy in the end. I had an old ugly stone fireplace that I wanted ripped out and a real wood mantel installed, as well as a ceiling light box installed. He was the only contractor that I got bids from that explained to me, in-depth, the steps required to make the room look right, and that my plaster walls would create a huge problem with dust in my house, so he would take steps to minimize the mess. We agreed on a detailed contract explaining all the work to be done, and fair price, and a payment schedule that we both thought was fair. Throughout the entire process, he was always concerned with the quality of workmanship and the look of the finished room. If I wanted to do something that wouldn?t look right, he would let me know and make suggestions, but if I was adamant about something he had no problem doing what I wanted. He took the time to go over pictures of ideas with me, and he went shopping for materials with me. He had no problem using specific brands of materials that I wanted. I had a strict timeline and he was very respectful of it and he did not take any other jobs at the same time, so he could ensure that my job was done on time. He always answered the phone when I called and was great with staying in communication with me. He uses the same crew of workers so I got to know the people showing up at my house every day. They cleaned up after themselves every day and tried their best to keep the mess to a minimum. They were on time every day, started work right away, brought their lunches with them, and didn?t ever leave early. We were all involved in the design process and when we ran into issues, it was a cooperative effort to make things look exactly right. Overall, I am so happy with him and the finished product! I would recommend Elegant Home Improvement to anyone! For my next project I am not even going to get bids from other people. I am calling John!

Owner promised me an estimate next day - 2 days later, I contacted the office and was screamed at by the office person.She promised the estimate by noon - nothing. I emailed again and she got crazy in the Angie's list email that she is over worked and "too busy" and said she'd have the estimate by close of business. Guess what? 6pm and NO ESTIMATE!At this point, they were the third estimate and holding up my entire process, so I didn't even bother to write to her again.When the estimate finally arrived - the next day - it was way over the other estimates.I decided to go with another contractor because I never wanted to have to deal with that hysterical woman in the office again.If this is how the business is run, the owner should either fire her or consider another line of work.

You could not find a better contractor than John, the owner of Elegant Home Improvements. He is a Gem of Gems. He took us shopping for all that was needed and this was a great relief for us. He makes great suggestions when asked. Performs the work in a timely manner and to your great satisfaction. John is definitely the contractor to choose.

I'm sure many contractors perceive us as their worst nightmare. We expect punctuality, superior customer service as well as respect for our home. Given that we have only 1 full bath, we procrastinated on this project for several years. However, I am happy to share that this was well worth the wait! From the onset, John was a true professional who was genuinely concerned with our satisfaction. He personally answered every phone call and never once resorted to voicemail. I can honestly say that we have never employed a contractor that worked so hard to please. John even accompanied my husband to Home Depot and let us use his truck to transport a new grill! From project onset to completion, John and his team showed up as scheduled and often worked late into evening hours. Having not been through a complete renovation previously, John even accompanied us during selection of materials! He was extremely honest and offered some good constructive feedback. Given that our floors were recently refinished, John ensured they were well-protected and covered them with drop cloths. His team took expert care of our home ensuring nothing was damaged. His crew cleaned up satisfactorily each day and safely stored all materials. Project duration was longer than estimated (4 versus 2 weeks). However, we converted to 200 amp service which was not projected during the original estimate. Given that our home only has 1 shower, John made it accessible in less than 2 weeks ensuring little inconvenience to us. Any issue that was brought to John's attention was promptly resolved. When we noticed a drip in the bath faucet, John came to our home at 8:30 p.m. and ensured the problem was corrected that evening. John's delightful sense of humor and easygoing disposition helped alleviate any stress we encountered. We were so pleased with the finished product, we have asked John to return to install 3 new bedroom doors. We wholeheartedly recommend him without reservation!
