John and Michael Villella, as well as the handful of painters who work with them, did a fantastic job painting the exterior of our home. The house previously looked worn and rough around the edges - it now looks bright and almost new - a total transformation. John and Michael were helpful in choosing colors (and patient while we considered a few alternatives), responsive to questions, and worked quickly and efficiently once the job started. We've had a lot of contractors working on our house since we bought it at the beginning of the year (house was older and has needed restoration), and Villella and Son have been among the most professional and easiest to work with. I'd also note that their estimate was lower than other vendors we talked to, and given the scope of the work, was I think quite reasonable. Highly recommend.

They were very responsive after the initial call and came and gave me an estimate very quickly. I booked them in the beginning of spring and they told my they could begin in June. I did not hear back from them until July and they did not come until end of August. They said the rain really hampered their schedules, I can believe that. When they did come, the painting was very professional and looks great.

Job went very well and in a timely manner. All calls were returned immediately and paint crew was there on time each day and actually finished job early. Complete clean up was performed after job to my satisfaction. I intend to use Villella again for interior painting. Price for this job was less than same job when I had it done 10 years ago and job was completed in less than two days.

We could not be happier. All work was done in a professional and respectful manner. Mike (the ?and son?) is very detail oriented and was very helpful when deciding where to put what color. In addition, they saved us several thousand dollars by power washing and staining an existing deck, instead of replacing.

A little trouble scheduling, but everyone is busy these days, but in the end worth it - they did a terrific job - even came back a week later to fix a shudder I had to order. Their painting job was great, but they also fixed little things they saw on the way, and even cleaned everything up when they left (unlike other contractors I have hired). Very happy overall, will definitely hire them again in the future.

They responded quickley after my call. The estimate was fair and the job they did was excellant. I found them easy to work with and they went beyond what was expected. A great company to work with. I have a large house and will hire them again for all my painting needs.

It went well overall. My only concern was their attention to detail with the room preparation. They overlooked a # of blemishes on the walls by not using a light to scan the walls first to prepare them. However, when this was pointed out to them, they redid that work to our satisfaction and their attitude was pleasant throughout. To me, they way that they handled this oversight was positive.

From estimate to finished product, John is very good to work with and his price is very fair.

John Villella, his son Michael and assistant Eddie are magical! They have made our nearly 100 year old house looks like it has new shakes and siding not just a repainting job. They all take great pride in their work as the final product shows. Michael has a great eye for color and helped select the accent scheme for the shutters, doors and porch. As an added bonus, Michael is an artist and has agreed to do a painting of our home and gardens. We highly recommend Villella and Son and plan to use them in the future for interior work.

John Villella was very responsive to my initial call and came right away to give an estimate. They were in the middle of the three estimates we got, and it was very clear that they are passionate about their business and that customer satisfaction is their highest priority. We could not be happier with the job they performed. They fit us in very quickly despite their busy schedule. John, his son Mike and one other worker did all the work. They even noticed some rotting boards and changed them out at no additional cost (we just provided the new wood). They finished this morning and the deck looks fantastic which I know was a lot of work given the neglected condition of the deck when they started. We are so pleased with the experience that we have just hired them to do some interior painting next.

John and Mike Villella arrived on the date and time - as agreed- to take a look at the work that needed to be done and gave me a detailed description of how they would approach the job. A few days later - as promised - they called me with an estimate. Since I had requested quotes from several companies, I was able to compare the promised work and price. Even though they were not the cheapest I felt that they had the necessary skill to perform the job I was looking for. John was able to give me a price more comparable to the other estimates I received. I also liked the fact they could do the job within the time frame I was looking for (about 6 weeks from the time I had first contacted them). They started by powerwashing the whole exterior of the house, they even took the time to power wash a cement walkway between the front door and driveway - I hadn't even asked that, I knew right away I had found the right people for the job! All screens and shutters were removed and washed. The house was then completely primed an afterwards painted in the same color as it was before. Mike suggested to use a slightly brighter color to bring out the contrast between the walls (light-yellow) and the white trim, black shutters and front door. All plastic shutters were then painted with a semi gloss paint which made them look better than new! All rain-pipes were removed and repainted too, to make the whole house look like new. Mike recommended to accentuate one side of the house near the entryway - which initially looked like a a big yellow slab with a small window on the second floor and three white gararage doors. We decided to add shutters to the window - matching all the other windows - and as Mike suggested the garage doors were painted black to make them stand out. It looks great and now makes the whole wall pop. Even the old rusted lanterns next to the front door and above the garagedoor were meticulously painted to match all the other trim (and we had not even asked for it!). If I have any other paintwork ever done - I know who to call now!

John Villella was prompt in responding to our request for an estimate. We soon received his written estimate. The figure he gave was not the lowest, but it was the second lowest of the four estimates we obtained and far below the top two. We had told him the time frame we were thinking of and he made it happen. He advised us of the schedule well in advance so that we had ample time to remove all the storm windows (which were not to be painted). They arrived to start work on the appointed day and finished on the fourth day. Throughout the job they kept us informed about what they were doing and what was next. They always checked with us before doing anything not explicit in their proposal. They performed some extra work without charge. For instance, they not only removed a picture-window-sized storm window that was too big for me to handle, but also cleaned it and the inner window it was protecting. Throughout the job they were sociable and communicative. It was a pleasant experience overall. We were especially appreciative since our last house-painting experience had been very unsatisfactory. We didn't pay anything until the job was complete and we had expressed our satisfaction.

Overall the job went quite well. John was ill, so his son, Mike did most of the work. They started the project two weeks ahead of schedule. throughout the project i voiced a few concerns which were dealt with immediately as soon as i pointed them out, without so much as a grumble. They didn't pressure for payment at all. (in fact, they didn't take a penny until the project was complete and i was satisfied) We arranged to meet the next day at the house after i looked at the completed work. I took this opportunity to inspect their work ( i'm in the trades myself, and i nitpick,,,) I formulated a short punch list of minor details that i wanted addressed. ( some bleedthrough of the original color where old siding overlapped on one side of the house, a chip where something must have bumped into the siding, and a bubble.) when i arrived to meet with them, i found them waiting for me. They had done their own inspection while waiting for me and addressed all the items on my punchlist before i had a chance to discuss it with them. After all was said and done, they even offered to come back at no charge once i was done with the rest of the capping if my new caulk lines didn't look right and cut the color back in around the windows.

Overall, we are very pleased with John's work.

I cannot imagine a better house-painting experience than that delivered by Villella & Son Painting. They were completely professional, showing up when they said they'd be here and always doing what they said they would do. They were courteous and thoughtful. They made suggestions. They engaged. And while not the least expensive of the four bids we got, they were $8,000 less than the most expensive bid. This is the third paint job we've had in the past 23 years. One of the painters we considered for the first paint job came out, made notes, and then never submitted a bid and refused to return our calls. The painter we chose for the second paint job was quite respectable and well-spoken, but his workers left a lot to be desired. We later found beer cans stuffed into the gutters and discovered unpainted surfaces on the roof that were not visible from below. The owner of that firm did not paint himself. Villella pere (John) paints, as does Villella fils (Mike), and both genuinely enjoy their craft.
