Bob (owner of Weather-Tite) showed up for the initial consultation punctually and gave me a very competitive price ($6500) and time-frame to water-proof 3/4 of the basement walls (the last side had an older but functional drain); plus, Bob's team would handle the prep-work and rebuild all of the walls after installation, which is why we ended up going with them. Day 1: Bob's team arrived around 8AM, rolled back the carpet and pad, covered everything in plastic or tarps, removed the drywall and wainscoting up to ~24" above the floor (left the studs/framing), and dug the trench. Day 2: Bob's team again arrived promptly and installed the french drains, pump, and cemented the floors. Day 3: two people arrived to re-install sheetrock and wainscoting. The workers did a nice job of minimizing the dust and debris in our finished basement (there's only so much you can do when you're dealing with busting up a concrete floor). The one thing that I wasn't so pleased with was the fact that a lot of water used during the process (cleaning, concrete curing, etc) made its way into the carpet pad, which the workers at the end of the process rolled back down and and put carpet back on top of without drying it out or letting me know it was wet -- after noticing the carpet was soaking wet, I rolled back a lot of the carpet and dried out the pad and carpet with towels and fans, which took about a week. If I hadn't caught this, we would have had a mold problem and possibly ruined carpet. Despite this, my experience with Weather-Tite was still very positive, and I would recommend them, the caveat being to check the job-site afterwards to make sure that everything is as clean and dry as possible. Of note: prior to contacting Weather-Tite, I had two other highly-rated waterproofing companies come out to quote on an intermittent but recurring water issue in my finished basement. One company quoted $12k to install french drains along all four walls of my basement and new pumps; this also included removing all wall coverings (including breaking up a shower and bathroom as well as the staircase) but did not include putting everything back together, which would have probably have been an additional $6-8k. The second company wanted $5300 to install drains on 1/2 of the walls, but that price didn't include removal or repair of the walls; I would have had to have paid a contractor to do both the pre-demo and the rebuilding. Again, Weather-Tite took care of everything, including prep and re-building.
Description of Work: Internal French Drain installed around 3/4 of our finished basement, drilled weep-holes in all cinder-block cavities, installed mira-drain paneling, expanded one drainage sump, and installed a new high-performance sump pump. Also included prep-work (removal of sheetrock/wainscoting and wood paneling) and re-installation of sheetrock/wainscoting.
I've used this company twice now. In the first instance (2014), we had a leaky basement and interviewed at least three different french drain companies. Bob Lindsay, from Weather-tite, immediately stood out as one of the most experienced and knowledgeable. A bit gruff, but the man knows what he's doing. Importantly, his team is top notch. Many times I've been in situations where the owner sells you on his services but the team doing the work is terrible. Not so with Weather-tite. His lead guys were amazing (a couple of the newer guys were not quite as ambitious, but the foremen and most of the team - -A-MAZING). They were there on time, worked quickly and efficiently, cleaned up like a dream. I couldn't believe how fast they dug up my entire basement, laid the pipe and put it back together again. Excellent all around. About a year later, we started getting little flies in the basement. Drain flies, sometimes called sewer flies. They seemed to be in the french drain and were coming up from behind the walls. It took close to a YEAR to find the source of these flies. I was killing more than 100 per day - they drove me crazy. I brought in a pesticide company, a contractor and three different plumbers to try to find the broken pipe. (I had an ongoing 7-10 page status report of every possible thing that could be causing these flies and what had been done - like I said, crazy!) Every single person who came to the house wanted to blame the french drain company. "They must have put a hole in the sewer line when they dug up the floor" they all said. I called Bob. I knew from working with Bob that he was a stand up guy. He stood behind his work and assured me that there was no way that happened. After numerous tests, the plumbers finally found the broken kitchen pipe that was the culprit and confirmed that it was NOT caused by the french drain installation. It was broken on the underside and had just rotted through. Unfortunately, the french drain system became contaminated with organic material from the broken pipe and became a ground zero for the flies. After the floor was dug up and the plumbers fixed the pipe, I literally had thousands of flies in my basement. The horror. I was regularly in tears. The practically brand new french drain system was totally contaminated. Bob's team came back with a different foreman, who was also excellent. This was a very unusual situation for a french drain company, but they took care of it like champs. They came in and suffered the storm of flies and dug out and removed the contaminated french drain pipes and the dirt underneath and reinstalled whole sections of the french drain with new pipes. Once again, they were on time, efficient and fixed the problem beautifully. One of the guys even patched up some of my outside stairs just because he had the concrete out and saw it needed fixing. It's now months later, I'm happily living with a dry, fly-free basement and my sanity has been stored. Was Weather-tite the cheapest estimate I got back in 2014? I don't think so (though they were comparable). But not everyone stands behind what they do like Bob does. The team, the workmanship and the follow through were top-notch. I highly recommend them.

We used them but I'm not satisfied with them they did a very good job waterproofing the basement but they were suppose to clean up afterwards first of all told us when they were here that evening that they were going to charge us sixty five hundred and then the next day came and they said that they was going to charge us seventy five hundred and we said is there any discount and they said no and we saw the Angieslist afterwards we saw it and so of course we couldn't get it and ten he said oh well we gave you a discount but he didn't. that was one thing the second thing I wouldn't recommend them because although they did waterproof they said they were gonna do on the edge and they ended up right in the middle of the basement and then in addition to that they were suppose to, they wanted the cheque immediately and we did give it to them however, when we sign the contract we saw the owner and that was it and he kept telling me oh he was sick he was this he was gonna come back he was going to send somebody he didn't I mean it's not a big deal that they left some junk in the basement and they never really cleaned up.

From the first phone call, Bob was very responsive. He is knowledgable, and patiently answered all our questions. He had a large crew--about 9 men--come the day the work was done. They came as scheduled in the morning and did the whole job by mid afternoon. The crew was efficient, and respectful of our property. They left the area as clean as could be expected. I would highly recommend Bob and weather-title, and would use them again.
Description of Work: Last spring when the snow melted, we had water leaking into the basement through a crack in the foundation. Occasionally, water also would come in where the wall meets the floor. Bob came out to look at the basement and we hired weather-trite to fix the problems. They chiseled out the crack and applied a hydraulic cement patch, then covered it with PVC flashing which extended down to a trench. They dug the trench along the wall, put in a PVC pipe, and ran it to a new sump pump, along with a battery backup.
Work went extremely well. Fast Scheduling, and guys worked well. Removed an old sink from the basement as well, and scrubbed all walls / floors when done. Since the work has been completed, the basement has been bone dry. Very happy and impressed with work performed. Will have them quote on finishing the basement as well early next year.
Description of Work: Replaced aging sump pump to include new one with battery backup, replaced old interior drains with new interior drains around perimeter of 24' x 32' basement and from sump pump to middle of basement. Patched concrete as needed.
Bob was very professional and more responsive than any contractor that I've used in the past. His estimate was accurate - the work was done fast and efficiently. After several spring / summer storms - not a drop of water in my basement I would hire him again on the spot -
Description of Work: Perimeter French drain system around the basement with sump pump and back up battery
Bob, the owner, was the one that came to the house to do the estimate. After the first call, he came over within a couple days to investigate the situation. He was punctual, honest, and very detailed in his evaluation. Once we decided we wanted him to be our contractor, he came to our house Monday at 8-8:15, like he said. He came over, wrote up the final estimate, which was exactly the same as the initial estimate, and got to work. He said it would take 2 days; one to demo, and one to lay in the concrete. His team completed the work on time, on cost and did a great job. I highly recommend him!
Description of Work: Installed a french drain around the perimeter of the basement and installed a sump pump.
We recently had a sump pump, French drains and window wells installed by Weather-Tite Waterproofing and had a great experience. Bob, the owner, answered all of our questions about the process and gave us a very fair price for the job. They were even able to complete the job that same week and in only 1.5 days. The customer service was great and they left the basement clean each of the days they were here. We would work with them again.

I had water seepage through the blocks of my basement which got worse in one area over the years. I had another contractor doing outside work for me and I let him look at my basement. The guy wanted to replace the blocks for $$$$$! Fortunately I came to my senses and found Weather-Tite Waterproofing on the list last week. Well, it was my lucky day. I messaged them and within minutes Bob called me. He just happened to be heading my way anyway. Within a half hour he arrived. He was very professional and efficient as he assessed my basement and outside foundation. It turned out that the blocks were fine. The original drainage system in the house needed to be unclogged. The water had nowhere to go. He took his time to go over his proposal to put in a new drainage system. He was very informative and instructed me on what I needed to do. Over the weekend I hustled to get stuff out of the basement so that his team of 8 men could begin work on Monday. Monday morning came and sure enough the men arrived promptly and got right to work. They very quickly got everything in their way moved. Paneling was removed and they covered everything up to protect it all from the dust. Then the excavation began. I left for work. By mid-morning Wednesday they were done cleaning up just as the snowfall outside started to get heavy. They did an excellent job! Now my basement is completely dry. I can't tell you how pleased I am with the whole experience. I highly recommend them.
Description of Work: Installed new french drain system, sump pump in basement
We had a major basement flood in May 2014 after several days of heavy rain. We obtained 3 quotes for the drain & sump system and Weather-Tite was the best by far. The price was in the middle of the range, but they include the backup battery in their price, so the value is better. Since our house is one side of a duplex and the basement floods on both sides, it didn't make sense to only install the system on our side. If we had only done our side, it would have been $7,500, but since we did both sides, it was $5,200 (per basement). Our neighbor agreed to do the installation, but was a little flakey about getting back to me and the owner, Bob, to schedule the work. Bob was patient and persistent in getting a response from them. Bob is friendly and knowledgeable - I called him a few times with some questions about the installation (permits, where to discharge the water, etc.) and he always got back to me with detailed explanations. Once the work was scheduled, everything was a breeze. The crew showed up right on time and the job was completed in 3 days. Bob was on-site to check in with the crew and to make sure we were satisfied with the work. When they finished, they cleaned up after themselves and left the basement cleaner than they found it. Our basement has been dry since the installation.

Robert Lindsay, owner assessed our water problem and provided an estimate. The outdoor drainage system was clogged. There was excess water on the rear lawn and water was entering our finished basement. We were concerned that our lawn would be compromised due to the installation of pipes. Mr. Lindsay assured us that our lawn and flower beds would not be damaged during the construction process. The job was completed in two days. The construction crew arrived on time on August 6th and 7th. The workers carefully dug up the externior of the home and installed new pipes. The workers created a great system for neatly removing and replacing the soil. The workers were organized, tidy and hard working. During construction, our lawn remained intact. The portion of the lawn which was impacted by construction was almost unnoticeable. I would recommend Weather-Tite Waterproofing Company. It is obvious that the employees were well trained to complete major construction with minimum impact. We are hopeful that our water problem was resolved. The company was obtained from Angie's List.

The crew arrived on site and went about their work, total professionals. They completed the work over 2 days. They had to move some material out of their way but they were very careful. When finished they cleaned very well. I tested the system before making final payment and I am very pleased.
Description of Work: The owner came to my home one evening, we spoke about the basement and then he made a thorough inspection. He formulated a plan that would rectify my problem, it was basically the same as several other waterproofing services that I had called. We spoke about price and Weathertite was the most reasonable. I thought that the lower cost might entail some cut corners so I was home and observed them closely.

Working with Bob Lindsay was a very good experience. He explains everything and is very knowledgeable and professional. We had a complicated situation b/c our house is contemporary with many angles and 9 ft ceilings in the basement. The only disruption was the noise from the jackhammers, which I knew, but that was done quickly and efficiently. After that I barely knew there was a crew of 8 in the house. The completed job was amazing. He tied in my downspouts to the new drainage system b/c of the water issues we have. The work was very neat and the men cleaned everything. Bob really knows his business and currently will be working on another project for us. We highly recommend him.

It went better than expected. Bob and his workers showed up on time. They did exactly as Bob explained in our pre-meetings. When there were any issues, Bob was prompt in raising the concern and discussing solutions. One example was the water inlet pipe was found to be dripping. Work stopped, we discussed, a plumber was called, United Water was contacted. The entire stoppage was taken care of in less than 3 hours. Some additional work was suggested, it was all explained and the extra cost was reasonable. Overall, great job!

Bob punctually arrived to offer an estimate. Although more than I expected, for th service that was being provided, I felt I was going to get what I paid for. Bob explained in detail what will be done in addition to the "what if's". After having lengthy disussions and making sure the scope of work was clear, I agreed to have Weather-tite do the work. I was told that the job would be done in two and half days and it was. They arrived on time and began immediatley...no messing around. The basement was prepped with drop clothes on all the furniture and other belongings. The bottom 3 feet of the sheet rock and paneling was removed in order to drill holes in the foundation to allow the water collecting around the foundation to enter the drain. Behind the wall was a significant amount of mold. At the end of day one the entire trench around the perimeter was dug. Under steps, a boiler, hot water heater and an interior wall. Day two...all of the mold was remediated by scrubbing all the walls and sprayed with anitmold solution. When I arrived home from work that day, all of the mold was gone and the job was 90% complete. The sheet rock installer arrived promptly at 7:30am Memeorial Day Weekend to replace the sheet rock that was removed and by 2pm the job was complete. they even installed chair rail around the perimeter so the seem between paneling and sheet rock was covered. The next day I was painting and getting my living space back to normal. I can't say enough about the confidence, professionalism and dedication of Bob and his employees. They're all business. I gave the price grade a B because you can get a french drain installed for less but as I said, you get what you pay for and I got the best. My mother always said..."don't ever be afraid to pay for the best because you'll never be dissapointed."
Description of Work: Installed a french drain with sump pump around the interior perimeter of my basement.
The job started promptly on time. Crew was here and amazingly enough within 4 days, completed the french drain portion of the job. The tiles took longer due to finding matching tiles. Week 1: Friday - Day 1: cut out all old dry wall, insulation and prepped the area Saturday - Day 2: started demolition (loud jack hammers - so stay away). Was hard seeing those nice tiles being ripped up from the inside of the basement. Dug the drain areas along all the walls, and dug the wells inside the basement. Monday - Day 3: installation of 4" pipes throughout, sump pump systems, mesh lining, fresh rocks (including exterior french drain) and concreted all along the inside perimeter wall. Tuesday - Day 4: Installed replacement dry wall with mold resistant dry wall. Had to re-install the dry wall with the right thickness and replaced insulation Week 2: Saturday/Monday - Tile installer came out and installed all the tiles in 2 days Week 3: Saturday - Baseboard was installed Bob was always accessible and this was a very big job. I have a fully furnished basement and so prep work for me was very significant. Bob's crew came and covered everything. However, with a job like this, no matter how much plastic is used to cover things up, when there is jack hammer and concrete being torn apart, you are going to get a lot of dust. I would advise, if possible to move things out of the basement if you have a furnished basement. Bob also went out of his way to do some extra things for me such as hook me up with a tile person who found a tile that was as close to the original as possible. My tiles were 13.25 inches. So we had to make due with 13 inch tiles, but the tile guys made it work and it looked very good when it was done. The grout had to be matched and so this caused an extra day of delay, but all in all, the work got done to satisfaction. Also as all jobs, it is very important as a general rule of thumb that the owner be present to ensure all key work is being done to spec and as agreed. I did catch the dry wall used was the wrong thickness and had to wait for the right thickness dry wall material was brought in and the initial installed dry wall was taken down. The same goes for the removal of an old pipe that was found that needed to be removed. The lead person was not aware of this and had to be addressed with Bob while the demolition was taking place. Overall I am satisfied with the job performed. It was not cheap but our basement should never flood due to heavy rains ever again! I'd like to post pictures of the job, but the site does not seem to have this feature.
Description of Work: Installed french drain throughout the basement with 2 wells and 2 x sump pumps with both battery backup. Installed exterior drain from back yard that connected to the rear well. As part of this job, about a foot of dry wall was cut out and replaced along with baseboard and tile.
He explained everything clearly. We found him on Angie's List. We had two people who gave us bids, and his bid was very good. He said he would come in day, and they put plastic all over the flooring and carpeting, so everything was clean. They put up plastic on everything so dust wouldn't get into the other rooms. They came in the morning with about 7 people, and they finished the job in one day. They did everything they said, they did it on time, and we were very satisfied with them. We didn't think they would do it, but by about 2pm they were done. It was a good experience from A-Z.
Description of Work: I used Weather-Tite Waterproofing Inc. They dug drenches, and put pipes out, so the water would drain out, and they put in a sump pump. They poured cement, and digging out trenches all around the wall, and putting outlets so water would drain in the back.

I contacted the owner, Bob who promptly came to evaluate the problem. Bob has extensive knowledge of the building trades in general, and home drainage, foundations and water problems in particular. Bob evaluated the area beside the house which turns into a roaring creek during very heavy rain and provided a solution. The hard working amiable men came to do the job the next day. A 24' long trench was dug down to the footings (4+ feet deep). The wall was then cleaned and treated with a black tar-like substance (more sophisticated than tar), covered in a plastic like board and covered again with an opaque membrane sheeting which covered the wall, and the trench. Then the perforated 4" piping was laid in the length of the trench then filled with gravel and covered again with that same membrane which allows water in, but keep most mud and dirt out. Each end of the pipe had clean-out access covers put on and then attached to an existing 4" drain pipe that goes to the end of my property. The excess dirt was used to landscape the area so that future roaring creeks would be channeled away from the house. Everyone including Bob were professional and worked very hard to solve our wall/drainage problem. In case you're reading this Bob, Thanks again!

It was excellent. The guy who came was very good at explaining what they were going to do. They'll break it down for you. When the guys come to do the work, they break their behinds and do a great job. This was all done in a day. I could like, fall down that they did this so quickly. Their price was exactly the same as everybody else and I really can't complain. When an electrician came to check the crawlspace, he said it's great job down there. When you have a sump pump and a system put in, you need a dedicated line into your crawlspace. They were supposed to be here at 9 and at 9:30 the guy called me and said they're stuck on a highway. They did so much work that we only had a little vacuuming to do when they were through. They sealed off the whole house. They're the best. They also have a lifetime warranty and if you sell your house, they'll transfer it for $75.
Description of Work: Weather-Tite Waterproofing Inc. installed a weather tight system in the crawlspace and installed a sump pump and a humidifier. They also scraped down the walls and rewater proofed the walls and the floor.
