Excellent!!! The sink and plumbing fixtures below it were old and rusty and beginning to leak. The old vanity was the kind that had an arm that stretched over the toilet and the mirror and light fixture were large, old, and long as well. Bryan's crew was punctual, professional, and polite. The job was completed in one day and the price was reasonable. This was for a rental property that I've used Bryan's services in the past and will most certainly be using in the future!
Description of Work: Replaced a bathroom vanity/sink/cabinet, mirror, light fixture and repainted to match.

My daughter asked me to get a recommendation from Angie's List as she was moving from VA to NJ to the house next door to me. I reviewed different companies and Bryan's Handyman & Home Improvement Service was rated very highly on this site. Based on those reviews I recommended this company to my daughter. She wrote the review below as she had the work done. I was interested in this company and closely watched the work done next door as I had some jobs I was interested in hiring this company for. I will not be hiring them. My daughter's review of the work done: Let me start off by saying that the workmen employed by Bryan Grubb are very professional and capable individuals. They do good work and always clean up before they leave. The quality of the work done for me was very good. However, that being said I will NEVER hire Bryan Grubb for ANY job I have ever again. I needed three jobs done, a new Bilco basement door, rebuilding a small side porch, and a storm door installed on the back door. Bryan and his wife came to see the jobs that needed to be done and to take measurements in the beginning of October. Approximately a week later I received the estimate for the job and was told that I would be put on the schedule once the Bilco door and the custom door arrived. I paid a deposit and the cost of the storm door which would be custom made. After emailing Bryan a few times I was told that I would be put on the schedule for November 2-6 and all jobs would be completed at that time. I have a toddler so I cleared my schedule and made arrangements so that I could be available at this time. On November 2nd the men arrived and started work on the side porch. They almost completed the side porch on one day but they told me that they would not be able to finish it until the next day as they did not have enough planking. They also told me that the Bilco door was slightly too big for the space where it was supposed to be installed but it was alright as they would just use concrete to expand the foundation. The next day they returned and completed the porch. I heard work being done on the Bilco door for some time before the men left at 1PM without telling me anything. When I went to inspect the Bilco door I found that my old wood door was still there but it had been removed and placed back on with a 2 x 4 nailed over it. When I emailed Bryan asking what was the status of the Bilco door, he called me and told me that the Bilco was the wrong size and would have to be reordered. He told me that it would take about two weeks for another door to come in but that his men had ?secured? the door so no one could get in. He also asked me to send him the remaining payment for the side porch as this job was done. He also added that it would be helpful if I could mail it to him the next day so he could ?make payroll?. I asked if his men would be back the next day to install the storm door and was informed that they would not be back until Friday, November 5th. The next day Bryan called me while he was at Home Depot to order the Bilco door and asked me to go downstairs and remeasure the area where the Bilco door would be installed to relay to him while he ordered the door. On November 5th I did not see any workmen and tried to call Bryan several times and was always put through to voicemail. I emailed him and finally received an answer. He informed me that the men would not be coming that day and would it be possible for them to come on Saturday to install the door, that is if one of his men was able to get a babysitter. I told him that would be fine. On Saturday the men arrived and started to put the door on but soon stopped. I was then told that this door was ALSO the wrong size, once again too big for the area, and would ALSO have to be reordered. The workmen who were there remeasured the door and found that the door was nine inches too big. After another series of emails to Bryan I was told that the men would return the following weekend to install the new storm door. On THIS Saturday, November 13th, the installation seemed to go smoothly but after about five hours I was told that there was a problem. The glass was not fitting correctly and there was a problem with one of the handles. As this was a new door that the company had never used Bryan had to email the company to find out how to install the glass and to get a replacement handle. On November 24th, after another long series of emails to Bryan asking when the Bilco door would be delivered, the workmen returned and finished installation of the storm door. I was told that the intention was to complete the Bilco door at this time as well. However, the men only completed the storm door. When I emailed Bryan I was told that they would return early the next morning to complete the Bilco door. Let me just say that at this point the basement door has been pretty much open for almost one month. The door we were replacing with the new Bilco door was wood and after being removed and placed back on, it was partially open letting in rain and bugs as well as being a security hazard. The door was finally installed on November 25th. Once again the work crew who was on site was very professional and installed everything properly. While I had my jobs completed and while the quality of the work was good, I would never hire Byran Grubb again. He is very difficult to get in touch with, he never apologized or offered to make amends for the difficulties encountered during the job, the issues that came up were due to incorrect measurements that were taken during the initial visit, and I had to constantly stay on top of him in order to find out anything that was going on. He would never notify me when schedule changes happened, never let me know when to expect his men to arrive, never let me know when my payments were received even though I asked him to, and never let me know when any of the doors were delivered unless I sent him several email messages. Three jobs that I was told would take one week took almost one month to complete. I do understand that issues arise during construction but the fact that the issues that came up were purely workman error and bad measurements was extremely frustrating. Overall this was a very poor experience and one I hope never to repeat. Update. March 10, 2016....major problems. The porch floor were coming undone. The pillar was rotted and they put it back instead of replacing. They did not put any flashing around the back door allowing it to leak like Niagara Falls. When I called I got not answer. When I emailed I got one not very professional answer. And no date to come and repair. I have had to hire another company to repair this work. I will NEVER hire them again and I recommend that you not hire them.
Description of Work: Tore down and rebuilt a small porch. Put up a set of storm doors. Took off and put on a Bilco door. Very shortly after the work was done major problems came up. The porch floor was splitting. There was no flashing around the double back door which allowed rain to pour in.

This is the second time I've used Bryan, and the results are great! The final bathroom is actually better than I imagined. The guys on the job are extremely courteous and accommodating :) I ordered a tub, which unbeknown to me was cracked! Bryan's guys caught the crack, and worked with me to reschedule the renovation as soon as possible. Even went as far as to say "don't rush the decision on the new tub to get it done in the short term, you want it done right". I will definitely be using them again in the future!!

Needed some work done around the house prior to selling it. Bryan was the only person I reached out to that provided me with an estimate in a timely fashion. Scheduled the work, and everything came in on budget and finished ahead of schedule. We were very pleased with the quality of the work, and would definitely use him again!

Overall, my husband and I are pleased with the quality of the work done on our house. We are happy that Bryan's crew was able to take care of all the little and not so little projects we were putting off. Bryan always responded to my emails with 1 or 2 days. There were a lot of back and forth emails and he was patient with all of my questions. We added extra things to the list and his prices for the new additions were reasonable. He followed up and made sure that the jobs were done to our satisfaction. All the members of his crew were very polite, professional and respectful of the house. We asked that they take off their shoes when on carpeted areas of the house and they had no issues with that. They cleaned up after themselves after each job and left the house looking tidy. The painting jobs were very thorough. I was pleased that they really took the time to sand and scrape off all the rust on the railing before applying the paint. The deck looks beautiful. We no longer have any issues withwater seeping through our backdoor due to the new weatherstripping. The only thing I would mention is that the list of projects took more than one day to complete. Bryan didn't specify a specific timeframe for completion. We weren't in any rush. I would imagine that Bryan is very busy and has to juggle multiple projects at once. We were flexible and Bryan certainly worked with our schedules so that the work was done when it was convenient for us. Everything was completed within a week. We are certainly happy with the completed work and will contact Bryan for our future needs. Thanks, Bryan!
Description of Work: Powerwash exterior, replace deck boards, install new weatherstripping on back door, install new handle on screen door, install 3 new light fixtures, sand and paint railing for steps outside, paint shed door, paint front door, paint walls over stairs and landing, install new exhaust fan for bathroom, install towel rack and toilet paper holder, replace strip of molding by backdoor, replace air conditioner line insulation foam, fix broken kitchen drawer, replace shower head and trim for shower control, secure fence and gate, replace rotted wood and flashing above shed, replace rotted wood and intsall new threshold for shed

Requested and received an estimate in September. Approved the estimate and scheduled for work for mid-October. Then Bryan asked to push back the work to November. I was not given any confirmation on what day the work would begin. One day in November, I received a call that they were on their way. They completed only the exterior masonry work (which was good quality) and Bryan told me that next time they could return for other repairs was in late December. If you need repairs performed in a timely manner, I highly recommend against him. This was a frustrating experience.
Description of Work: Requested service for interior painting, drywall repair, tile repair, trim installation, ceiling tile replacement, exterior masonry and handrail replacement. Total estimate was for around $4,500 of work. His price was 3-4 times higher than other quotes. Since he had such great reviews, I thought it would be worth it. After two months of waiting, they completed only about 10% of the work (exterior masonry work). They are asking to wait at least another month for the remainder of the work.

The work was done on time and the quality of work was excellent . Bryan answered all questions quickly and was quick to respond when called. His men were very neat placing tarps through the house and leaving everything clean and neat each day. Outside they had a dumpster bag which they removed when the work was completed. He gave us a complete estimate list of the work to be done and as expected there was some additional work I requested and His additional charges were very reasonable. I would use his services again and recommend him highly .
Description of Work: Gutted our bathroom except the tub . tiled the floor , removed the old tile around the bath tub ,removed the old drywall around the tub ,placed waterproof drywall and tiled the shower. removed old exhaust fan and replaced with a recessed light and put in a new exhaust fan and light above the shower .Put in a new vanity and toilet . Placed trim on walls and painted the entire room and trim. He picked up the vanity and toilet at lowe,s and transported them to our house. replaced existing pipes ,shut offs & hardware.

This was one of the best services I've had done on my home. Bryan and his team were very professional from beginning to end. He came right on time to examine the site and provided me an estimate via email that same day. We scheduled the work and his team came right on time. They removed the interior walls and ceiling with very little noise and dust. The new drywall was installed the same day and was taped and plastered. Bryan's team returned 2 days later to sand and add the second coat of joint compound. Two days later the final sanding was done. I have since had the garage painted and it looks beautiful! Bryan's team did a great job. The result is far better than I expected. I will definitely use Bryan for future repairs/remodeling of my home and I recommend him highly!

I had Bryan's Handyman Service quote me a price to scrape the popcorn ceilings off of a dining room, living room, foyer, and hallway. They told me that it was be cheaper and come out better by sheet rocking over the existing popcorn ceiling using the thinnest sheetrock available. The entire process took about a week and a half and that included sheetrocking, taping, mudding, sanding, priming, painting, and replacing some moulding. They originally quoted the work as 3 days but when it was apparent that we would go over that timeframe they helped me get the house back together for a party that we were having over the weekend. Bryan sent some guys out to clean up and replace the recessed lighting that had to come down. All in all they did a fantastic job, the ceiling looks great and I will be using them again in the near future to replace 2 custom sized entry doors when they arrive.

Job was to put in 3 base kitchen cabinets, a dishwasher panel and frame 2x4 in 12" open space at corner of wall to support counter top. The dishwasher panel ended up not being needed due to change of layout making one less thing to be done. I'm sure due to all previous reviews on here, that he does great quality work. Which is why i contacted to get an estimate for this job. The quote i received for this job was insanely high. Double the cost of 2 other previous quotes i was given. $360 and $420. $825 was not even in the same ball park. Lesson for anyone to learn is always get multiple quotes.

[member name removed], When I went to your home to estimate your project, it is a lot more involved then I anticipated. We then had a discussion via telephone as to how I would cut the plumbing and install the cabinets. Since there is a 3/4 inch copper base board water line that runs along the wall, I explained to you that I would have to drain the heating system, cut and temporarily remove the 3/4 inch pipe then install the 3 base cabinets. In addition I would have to remove the drain line in the wall(temporarily) cut out a large portion of the base of the sink base cabinet to accommodate the dishwasher line, the hot and cold water lines as well as an additional drain line. Then build a support for the counter top , as well as install the dishwasher panel which we discussed. Then reinstall the water line for the heating system , check for leaks and proper operation. I estimated this project would take 2 men a full day once said and done, and that is how I came up with the estimate of $825. I encourage anyone to have several estimates as you have done. Be careful of what is included with the estimates and what is necessary to complete your project. A low estimate may not be the final cost. Bryan

Work was well done. my only critique would be that start time was a little late, stop time very late (but they were trying to get stuff done- but it kept me captive at my house....) and all the materials for the job were not with the team - subsequent trip to home store necessary mid day.... But they got all the stuff needed, did a really good job and cleaned up after themselves. Brian was not on site during the work but his team had the know how to do the job. Bryan was on site at start, and did call me to check on progress. I would use them again and his team could problem solve so that is one of the most important things a handyman business needs. IMHO you can trust this company to get the job done well in a reasonable timeframe and at a reasonable price. Thanx to Bryan and the team for getting my yard back in shape and ready for my next project. Thanx for getting the porch back in shape too!

I've used Bryan on previous occasions and, as in the past, he and his team did a beautiful job. Bryan, Josie and their entire team are the most professional individuals, one could hope for. They always do their work, to a high standard of excellence, that has never left me disappointed. When the job is completed, they have always left the space immaculate. As far as I'm concerned, Bryan's Handyman & Home Improvement Service is a true gem amongst contractors that I've used in the past (and those that I've heard about). As far as I'm concerned, Bryan is the first person I'll turn to for any future work that I'll have.

Our home suffered tremendous smoke damage from a fire that took place at my next door neighbor's house. It has been an endless battle with the insurance company trying to secure a settlement and obtain disbursements to make the many necessary repairs to our home. For months, Bryan has provided me with incredible service and attention. He went out of his way to make appointments and take trips to the house, and provide multiple estimates. Though we ultimately have to go with a different contractor who specializes in smoke remediation, it is quite obvious why Bryan's Angie's List reviews are higher than anyone's I've ever seen. Bryan worked tirelessly on my behalf and I was so impressed with his professionalism and the time and energy he devoted to my project. We fully intend on using Bryan for a number of projects around the house once we are back in there.

Ive used Bryan's handyman and home improvement service a couple of times now. They are reliable punctual and very responsive. It was very important for me to have someone that was responsive and reliable since the work done was in our rental home and I don't live in the area. Bryan and his crew have been very accommodating in fixing a few other extra small jobs that arise after the initial estimate. We are satisfied with the quality of the work. The one detail I wasnt to happy about is the price, I find Bryan's pricei to be a bit higher than other contractors I've worked with... But then again, I haven't had much luck with others, so I guess you get what you pay for. I would recommend to anyone in need of a contractor.

A few months after the project the patches that he had fixed had started falling apart with the concrete and bricks and more bricks are coming apart. His customer service was great and would return phone calls or text message. Several times we had to point out the things that were wrong during the repair. The door that was done wasn't sealed or hung properly and we had to have him come back several times to complete till we were satisfied.

Response from Bryan's Handyman & Home Improvement Service
Hi [Removed member name], I just drove by your house and took a photo of the stone slab that we repaired last fall. When we did the repair I did advise you that this was a "repair" and that it may crack again. The winter's are harsh on concrete and asphalt, due to the constant freezing and thawing. The only way to make this a permanent fix was to remove both of the iron railings, then install a new stone slab then reinstall the railings. I am willing to repair it again at no charge, but it will more then likely fail again. Thank you, Bryan

My experience with Bryan's Handyman & Home Improvement Service was excellent. I would hire them again. I called Bryan and described the job. My bathroom towel rack was a ceramic pink bar supported by two pink ceramic holders connected to the wall by going though ceramic wall tile. One of the holders had broken off years ago. I still had the broken holder, but not the ceramic bar that the holders supported. Bryan said he could do the job and asked me to send him a picture to his cell phone which I did. He quoted me a price of $75 which sounded reasonable to me. I did not solicit quotes from other contractors so I don't know whether the quote was high, average or low. We set up an appointment for 3 days later between 11 am and 1 pm. They were punctual. About 11:15 Bryan's assistant called me and said they'd arrive in 20 minutes. They arrived at 11:45, took measurements, told me what was possible to repair and what was not possible, and described the job to me. They left and about 5:30 pm the actual workers arrived and replaced the towel rack. A worker explained my options. I agreed with the worker's recommendation to install a new rack. I relied on the worker to pick a rack that would fit the bathroom decor. He chose to knock off the other holder and attach a silver colored metal rack (holders and bar) that matched the other silver colored metal pieces in the bathroom. The job took about an hour or less. I am very pleased with the result. The new rack matches very nicely with the other metal pieces in the bathroom and it is solidly attached. The workers were friendly. I watched them work and they appeared skilled to me. The remaining holder had to be removed from the wall where it was attached to the wall by going through the existing wall tile. A worker placed a large chisel at the juncture where the holder met the wall tile. I was wondering how he would remove the holder without damaging the tile. With one sharp blow to the chisel the holder popped off and the tile remained intact. That seemed skillful to me.
Description of Work: The provider replaced a broken towel rack in the bathroom.

The entire process was easy; all the communication was done via mail. I called up to explain what I needed done; they came out to review the job and provided me with a written estimate with a day. I accepted the quote, scheduled the work and on the day and hour two people showed up. The work was done completely to our satisfaction and the workers themselves were courteous and professional. Would use Bryan's service again on upcoming projects.

Bryan went above and beyond. I wasn't very clear about what I wanted but he accommodated me with the add-ons. My powder room looks gorgeous now. The transformation is unbelievable. The workers were professional, polite, and hard workers. Bryan will also be doing my main bathroom in a few weeks and I have no doubt it will come out as beautiful as this one did. I highly recommend him!

Josie came out as scheduled to look at the project and take measurements and photos, then emailed an estimate. Tony and Henry arrived on the scheduled day and got the job done efficiently. A problem arose when an old plumbing connection broke as they were working around it, but they went out and got a replacement part and fixed it quickly. All parts of the job were done as requested, and the area was left clean. The workers were pleasant, courteous, and hard-working. We would use this company again.

**REVISION TO REVIEW STILL TO COME I called Bryan for an estimate and he came to my house within two hours to check out the work that needed to be done. He emailed me an estimate later that night. I emailed back to say that I was satisfied with the price and he scheduled me in for the very next morning. By 10am, two of his workers were at my door ready to start the job. The entire job took about 3 hours and the area was cleaned up when they were finished. This was, by far, the quickest turnaround for an estimate and job completion that I've ever experienced. Bryan was a super nice guy to top it off.
Description of Work: **REVISION TO REVIEW STILL TO COME. Repaired cracked concrete on porch and steps. Also, they repaired broken bricks on steps and repointed where necessary. Parged surface of side of porch and face of steps. Repaired broken outdoor electrical outlet.
