We recently purchased a new home that unfortunately had mold in the basement. We wanted to make sure that it was taken care of immediately> Dennis contacted me quickly after I submitted my request through Angies' List and within 2 hours of speaking with him, Angel stopped by the house to take a look at the damage so he could put together the estimate. Angel was extremely professional and very helpful. He explained the process and answered all of my questions. We were extremely pleased with the thorough estimate. The team that arrived was very professional and on time. They set up the barrier so the dust and materials from the basement would not get into the home. What I also liked was that Angel was always checking to make sure that everything was ok! They made sure that everything was cleaned up and we really appreciated the fact that they were able to get to us so quickly. What was also impressive was that they sent me a survey in the mail to ask me about my experience-I think that is great that they care. We are very pleased with the work completed

From the initial visit by the owner to the last team member leaving the site, every contact I had with this company was professional, pleasant and efficient. The owner and team leaders pinpointed what had to be done, explained it clearly and answered every question I had patiently and thoroughly. By their answers and actions, I had full confidence that they had the expertise to turn a disaster into a successful cleanup. And they did just that--the crew of workers who were onsite during the week worked almost without stopping. I want to emphasize that again: every member of the crew, as well as the team leaders, dove right into the work with a singular determination to get the job done right. They went inch by inch through the damaged rooms. To protect the rest of the house, they laid drop cloths over two flights of stairs, taped down runners and sealed the rooms they were working in. They made me aware of what they needed to do to make sure the damage was contained as they finished one room and started another--you don't always know what will be found until the walls are opened. They gave me updates on their progress and told me when they thought they had to go further to make sure they found the end of the damage. Their attention to detail helped calm my concerns that everything had been uncovered--in short, they took an enormous amount of worry away, and their reassurance that it could be fixed got me through the whole experience. On the last day, when all the machines could be removed and the rooms were unsealed, the team leaders made sure I had toured every room and understood what had been done and why. Their work was clean and neat and there wasn't a speck of dust when they left. I would hire this company again in an instant.

The team of about five members arrived on time the first day of work, sealed off the basement and began removing the moldy materials. They had to remove plasterboard walls and ceilings and the metal ceiling in the boiler room. There were more materials than originally estimated that needed to be removed and the manager let me know that they would have to charge more, and I agreed. The team hired a carter to remove the discarded materials and trucked some of it themselves. This work went on for two days. At the end of the second day, a Friday, they installed dehumidifiers to run over the weekend to make sure the newly exposed surfaces were dry. On the third day, they applied the anti microbial agent and did the fogging. The original estimate was for $5475 - 5% for Angies list referral = $5201. We agreed to pay another $350 for the extra work which took several hours, and the carting. The manager was very responsive when we called a few weeks later concerned that because of moisture, the mold problem was continuing. He came to the house to inspect and was able to show us that the mold had been removed and was no longer a problem.

There was no work done but Denis was very professional and honest saying that although he would be very happy to do the work, he would recommend going with a smaller contractor to keep my costs low.

The crew from Service Team were complete professionals and extremely pleasant. They were at our house for the bulk of the day. They first explained the process in detail, how they were going to extract the water, what they were going to remove from the basement that had been damaged by water, the need remove some of the baseboards because they had gotten soaked and the chemicals they would apply to prevent a break out of mold After drying out the floor, the crew then proceeded to remove furniture, doors and other items that had been sitting in water and putting them in the garage. The things we decided we would throw out they put in a pile in the driveway. We asked about what they were applying to prevent mold and they assured us that it was not toxic. Fortunately, we had gotten rid of the water quickly, making it unlikely that mold would appear. At the end of the day, they left behind several blowers and dehumidifiers around the basement. And they took away a big chunk of the garbage. The crew came by the next day to check on the machines and take readings. And a day later they came and removed the machines and moved back the furniture that we had decided to keep. And they mopped the floor. Our basement is clean and, most of all, dry. Overall, though we wish it had not happened, we were delighted and impressed with the responsiveness and the quality of work provided by Service Team.

A three man crew showed up two hours later. The foreman explained the procedure, met with the insurance adjuster who also arrived promptly and they got to work after making sure that tarps were down on the first floor to prevent any dirt or damage. I don't think we've ever come across a more fast-working, professional, courteous contractor. All of the basement carpet and much of the furniture was brought to the curb (in snowstorm conditions) and picked up by another contractor. All of our personal belongings from desks, bookcases, file cabinets and a large closet were packed in labeled boxes. We didn't have to do a thing. I give them an A+ in all categories. They were excellent. They were clean, professional, knowledgeable, on time, and gave accurate estimates. Their team went out of their way to get the work done, like moving furniture when the owners were not available.

We had what looked like a moisture and mold problem on the ceilings of our finished basement.? After looking on Angie's List, we called STOP who assessed the situation and called our insurance company.? They were there when the insurance adjuster showed up and for each step of the repair process.?? The workers were polite, professional, and thorough.? STOP removed the damaged parts of our ceiling, removed the mold, scrubbed the air in the basement, leaving it as good as new.? We would definitely use STOP again if the situation arises.

Dennis came to do the assessment and was able to provide a quote by email the same day. They removed the backwall of the laudry room and cleared all drywall covered with mold. They sealed the area first before they start work and then vacuum out the sealed area so that no mold pores will affect other areas. They also explained the possible cause of the mold buid-up and suggest we remedy the cause before covering up the backwall. All in all, a good job done and they were very professional.

We will follow his clear advice on fixing this problem. We highly recommend him for your consideration if you have a problem.

Thankfully we did not have mold however, i appreciate the fact that they were honest about it!

I wish I had had the presence of mind to write a review straight away so I could recall all of the details for which these gentlemen deserve recognition. They were professional, calm, explaining what I needed to do - and patient during my anxious moments. I called with a question and they actually rushed over to see what was speaking of... They went beyond our expectations.

We had a positive experience from the time they entered our home, applying no pressure to sign a contract. Once we made a decision to go with this company, a technician (Juan) came through and did a final measurement and confirmed the order. We were kept informed through each step via the with the owner, Dennis Chinea. His response and follow through to our insurance company was very professional. Juan, our installation technician, was very particular and meticulous in his work. Great customer skills and very informative during each step of the project. I was highly impressed with their clean up procedures. Every day before the crew left they stacked up their equipment neatly, vacuumed the floors inside our condo, as well as, cleaning up the main entrance hallway in to our building. I was highly impressed! The interaction with the crew was great and supportive. In fact, one of the guys brought me back a Cuban Sandwich remembering me mention to him that I once lived and worked and Miami and missed those Cuban Sandwiches. Owner, Dennis Chinea management style, customer service and timeline for our projects were great! The finished product is great and we could tell a difference in our homes warmth immediately. We look forward to hiring this same crew to work on our next kitchen project.

The owner, Dennis Chinea was very responsive and professional. He and his crew are very trustworthy. Juan and the rest of the clean up crew were respectful and skilled. They did an excellent job of cleaning and sticking to the quoted costs as per the contract. They were always punctual and were careful to lock up appropriately before they left for the evening. They worked around the few items left in the building, including a pool table, and made sure everything was appropriately covered and protected prior to working near them. Juan went above and beyond, even cleaning out and wrapping our dehumidifier in plastic to avoid dust accumulation during the tear out. They treated the entire structure for mold and it is like new again. We were so happy with their work, and developed such a trust for them that we would have loved to have them perform the re-build as well, but their price was just unfortunately way over our budget for that piece of the project. I would highly recommend this company to anyone who would be in need of this type of service.

Our small beach bungalow took on 2 feet of water after Sandy, leaving it with extensive mold and much damage. We hired Dennis and his crew initially to do mold remediation, and they did such a great job (very professional and thorough) we asked if he would consider working to generally remodel the interior which needed a huge amount of work. He promptly came up with a detailed (and we felt reasonable) estimate which we accepted and then they got to work. This was a major renovation, requiring many man hours, alot of labor, planning, and follow through. Dennis and his crew were just great and always available if we had questions. Dennis would send us pictures and videos of the work as it progressed, which were very helpful and reassuring. We visited on one weekend and met some of the crew, who were extremely pleasant, knowledgeable and helpful. For such a messy and big job, they managed to keep the place neat and clean, and we never had to deal with any clean up issues (they did everything). We are thrilled with the results and feel very fortunate to have found Dennis and his team. We would gladly hire them again for any renovation project.

Dennis and his team were great to work with.. The project was quick and they were prompt.. They successfully removed all of the mold in the basement.. I had the basement retested for mold and the it was significantly lower than before STOP came in to remedy.

This company is very responsive, punctual and easy to work with.

When I initially called Dennis he told me upfront that he remediates mold but doesn?t find mold. He advised me to hire an industrial hygienist who is certified to detect and identify mold. He said that once I had the lab results from the hygienist, he would then come in and remediate what the hygienist found. As he put it, if I send him to both find and remove mold, it?s a conflict of interest. A less honest person would find as much mold as they want and then charge me to remove it. The STOP crew was meticulous and thorough. They followed strict standards to isolate the problem and remove contamination over a period of about 5 days. Other companies quoted lower but they weren?t going to follow the same standards. We?re talking about the health of my family here! After spending nearly half of this year dealing with contractors of all kinds, I?m now convinced that Dennis and STOP are a rarity in the general business of home improvement. Dennis Chinea is a patient and decent man of high standards who puts you at ease and then follows through just as he said he would.

I won't need his services at this time but would not hesitate to call him right away in the future. Frankly it was very honest of him to talk through the matter with me and actually suggest I call a different type of firm. Even offered for me to follow up if I have further questions.

tt They came promptly and did the cleanup thoroughly. A few days later they started work on our new bathroom which required replacing wood and piping that was damaged with a hidden leak that had been going on behind the wall. They did ot take any short cuts and Dennis, the contractor was always in contact making sure we were happy and addressing all our concerns. The work crew were very nice menand answered any questions we had. There were no debris left over for us to bother with. They took great care to make sure the bathroom looked nice and we are very happy with it.

The tech (Angel) arrived on time and was completely professional. He listened to me, went up into the attic and checked the vent (small space) and inspected the insulation for signs of moisture, mold, etc.. There was none and he noted that it appeared that the insulation was relatively new. He also showed me how to replace a bulb in the bathroom ceiling vent fan (I could not figure out how to do this without breaking the whole thing). When I asked about the price for his visit, he said that it was free since no actual work was done, just a basic assessment. What a concept! Professional, punctual people who actually only charge for actual work done. This appears to be the philosophy of the company. I am impressed by that and by their thoroughness. Should I need their services I will definitely call them.

I was checking on a house for a friend that was out of town and found the kitchen and basement flooded. I contacted STOP late Friday afternoon and spoke with the owner, Dennis. He had some people out in a short amount of time to provide an assessment and estimate for water damage remediation. Throughout the process they were very responsive and professional, and I would not hesitate to recommend them in the future.

Dennis and his team were responsive, reasonable and altogether pleasant to work with. They started work within a week of my calling them and did everything they said they would. His man Angel in particular was a great worker and did a great job.

They arrived on time, they did the job right and they put everything back in pristine condition!
