I really can’t say enough about how wonderful they were in every way. Carlos is so knowledgable and kind and was always available for any questions i had. After trying to be hustled by some other paving companies, Carlos came by with a more than reasonable quote. Carlos and his team are friendly, responsive and professional. They do high quality work, are organized and professional. Work was done quickly. They cleaned up everything exceptionally well and even hauled some left over debris the previous owner left behind. I’d highly recommend Mata Paving to anyone looking to have their driveway done.

Excellent. This is the second project that Carlos did for me. The first job in 2017 went exceptionally well and I obtained the trust that Carlos and his team could tackle this much larger project professionally. Carlos was very responsive and had excellent ideas in design and selection of materials. All permits were obtained and they worked well with my electrical contractor in coordinating the installation of lighting for the piers which included trenching and avoiding other underground utilities. The drainage of the new driveway was well thought out and the results are fantastic. All of Carlos' team are customer driven and are devoted to meeting and exceeding the customers expectations. I am confident that this project has added to the value of my property and look forward to working with Carlos on another project in 2020,

From first contact Carlos/Paola were responsive, professional and available. The job was done as scheduled and looks amazing. We had several companies come out to provide estimates but none made me feel like I was a priority. I even had one company give me an estimate appointment for 1 month out, for an estimate!! With Mata Paving, Carlos called me within an hour or two hours of receiving my request he not only called, he came out the same day to take measurements even though I was not home -so that he could give a detailed estimate when we met! That is what I call great service! Once I met with Carlos I immediately felt comfortable with the conversation we had. I felt confident from reading many prior reviews that he was professional and honest. I never felt like he was trying to upsell and he offered his advise and thoughts freely. In the end my gut was right and I am very happy we chose to go with Mata for our paving needs. I could not be happier with the results and would not hesitate to recommend the services of Mata Paving.

Excellent. In an era where finding service providers who are competent, trustworthy, and customer-focused is rare, Mata and his team exceeded our expectations. Their price was incredibly fair (we had one bid 40% below and another which was 2.5x the price) and we felt as though it was allowing Mata to make an appropriate profit without price gouging. While minor adjustments were made to the scope of the job, there was never any request for additional payments. They provided a very high-quality end product with equally matching customer experience. We have already recommended them to others.

The end result of the work performed by Carlos and his team is amazing! Not only does it function extremely well, it looks fantastic! From the beginning when we contacted Carlos, he was great. He responded right away and came up to our property in Morris County to assess the work that needed to be done. Not only is Carlos a really nice guy, he is extremely knowledgeable of the work that needed to be done. The team of men he had working with him to tear out and replace the driveway (and all of the work honestly) were hard working, worked neatly, were very respectful and did not miss a detail. In addition, all of our neighbors have commented how beautiful the work looks that he did and would like to have Carlos and his team do work for them. We will definitely hire Carlos and his team again for any work we need of this nature.

Carlos and Paola from Mata Paving did a phenomenal job. We contacted several other companies and they were either unresponsive or pricey. The Mata Paving crew was extremely professional and exceeded expectations with the end Can be used for patio furniture too!

It went very well. It was a pleasure to work with the owners, Carlos & Paola, as well as the workers who worked diligently for long hours. The driveway was ripped up and installed in one day and their work was impeccable. My husband actually inspects municipal paving jobs as part of his job so he more or less was able to observe their work. They did everything correctly and we are very pleased with the results. The Belgian block paving was done on a separate day as we added that on to the work order a day or two later. The curbing looks great and greatly improved the curb appeal of our home. We had the work done in April of 2019. We highly recommend Mata Paving & More and we also found their pricing to be quite affordable.

Mata paving provided a fair price for the work performed. They were punctual, professional and kept all of the promises that were made during the initial estimate. When I expressed some concerns by email when the work was completed, they surprised me by stopping by 15 minutes later to address my concerns. The company is very responsive.

Excellent....!!! I am an Architect, licensed in NY & NJ, who has recently retired from the Construction Management industry in the NYC metropolitan region. Recognizing that our existing, approx. 1,100 gsf asphalt driveway at our home in Summit, NJ had deteriorated to the point of needing replacement, I interviewed five (5) asphalt paving contractors, providing my detailed project specifications which included the following points for a new, high-quality asphalt driveway: - Excavate all of the existing deteriorated asphalt down to the loose stone gravel sub grade base, regardless of whatever the depth of the existing asphalt is. - Remove and dispose of the excavated existing asphalt and attached stone gravel to an approved recycling center. - Where and as necessary, provide additional new Quarry Process (QP) stone gravel to create the desired substrate base of a minimum depth of four inches (4”). Grade pitch, roll and hand compact stone gravel to achieve the desired proper rain water drainage slope and direction, as discussed with Homeowner. - Supply and pave over graded gravel driveway a new first/base course, two inches (2”) deep, of I-2 asphalt, raked and rolled, as well as using hand and power-tamped compacting methods. - Supply and pave over driveway a new second/top course, two inches (2”) deep, of Dense Grade Hot Mix Asphalt (1-5 FABC) grade, raked and rolled, as well as using hand and power-tamped compacting methods. - The end edge of the new asphalt driveway where it abuts the existing public street, will be slightly raised to form a berm/bump, as well as a depressed drainage channel running along the curb/property line, will also be formed. The intention is to effectively keep all rainwater runoff flowing down on the sloped street, to remain in the street, preventing it from turning and flowing onto and down the driveway. After meeting and discussing this project with all five paving contractors and receiving their written project cost quotes, I decided to hire Mata Paving and More, LLC of North Plainfield, NJ. They have both extensive residential and commercial asphalt paving experience in the northern half of NJ. They were just below the middle cost quote and I had eliminated both the lowest and highest bidders. The reason I hired Juan Mata, Owner and leader of Mata Paving and More, LLC, was my instinct and perception of his knowledge and commitment, based on my professional experience in the A/E/C industry, working with many various trade contractors. From my initial conversation with Juan, I recognized his thorough knowledge of this type of work and solicited his opinion and suggestions on any modifications to my intentions, based on his experience. I agreed with his good ideas and incorporated them into our project approach. Of all five paving contractors, I felt that Mata Paving and More was the most professional, thorough, dependable and trustworthy. When they submitted their cost quote, they included the NJ Sales Tax Form ST-8, Certificate of Exempt Capital Improvement, for me to fill out and return to them so that I would not be charged any NJ Sales Tax on this project. They were the only paving contractor to do this. Also, based on my experience, I requested and required that they provide me with their Certificate of Professional Liability Insurance Coverage, something that all homeowner’s need to get from any contractor performing significant work on their home and property. Their boilerplate form of agreement was typical for this type of work and did not need much modification to be fair and acceptable to both contractor and homeowner. We agreed on a preferred project start date for removal of the existing asphalt, weather permitting, with the two-layer asphalt pouring following about 9 days later. They provided and installed the necessary temporary protection for our custom wood garage door. Juan personally led his crew for the critical asphalt laying, spreading, rolling and compacting process, in order to ensure that the work met his, (an my), high standard level for quality and not disturbing the adjacent yard, walkways and garage door. Thanks to Juan and his excellent crew, I learned a number of new things about the laying of asphalt and am very pleased with the results and can highly recommend him and Mata Paving and More, LLC for your similar projects. Excellent, detailed work, I even saw them bending down to remove a stray rock from the lawn. . Professional and nice workers. The owner, Mr. Mata, is there to supervise. Also, I shopped around, the price was a good one.

Very happy with their work! Mata Paving removed and re-paved the driveway of our rental property. They also replaced the old step under the front door. They did an excellent job on both. They were punctual, clean, friendly, thorough, professional and reasonably priced. Would definitely call them again.

I have a long, stepped front walk from the curm to my front door which was crumbling in a few places due to the winter cold and time. I wanted it repaired, not replaced. I had spoken to several companies, all who tried to upsell me to rip up my entire front walkway and stairs and replace for over $4,000, telling me that repairs couldn't be done. Carlos called me back and showed up same day to give me an estimate. while he recommended for long term stability to replace, he respected my desire to repair, and proposed a way to do it while preserving the repair work over time by cutting out the bad parts and laying down new concrete in the sections that needed to be replaced, as if he were setting down an new walkway, instead of replacing the entire walk. The final job was done in a day, and the finished work looks good. He came in at a tenth of the price that others wanted to get from me to do the repairs. I found them to be honest, responsive, and great to work with. When I need to re-do my drive and patio I'll be working with them again.

Our existing concrete entrance step (front and side of house) were severely damaged and needed major repairs and renewal. The team removed all limestone treads and stripped back concrete to the base and removed a 5 foot section of walkway that had cracked and lifted from a tree root. We needed a quick turnaround with a budget. Carlos took time to understand the brief and developed the appropriate scope of work with no attempt to upsell. The team worked hard to complete the work in a timely manner and updated on progress at the end of each day. The end results exceeded our expectations and provided a great service for great value. I would definitely use Mata Paving again and would recommend them to any friends or family in need of concrete and masonry work.

Called and spoke to someone to set an appointment for a quote and never heard back from them. I do not know how their work is, i do not know if i would hire them or not.

Wonderful. I was given the name Mata by a family friend, and among four pavers who came I was most impressed by Mata. And the price was right. His staff did a wonderful job. They volunteered to re-lay bricks on our walkway and that added to the value.

Very professional team. Great job. No quality issues. The team left the place clean. Carlos has been very responsive, although there was no real reason to call him during the job. We are very pleased with the job. I will call them again for the driveway project.

The Mata crew were doing a paving job across the street from our house and I approached them to ask if they could take care of a small job in our driveway. They came over shortly to estimate the job, got their boss on the phone (he was on vacation) and we quickly agreed on a fair price. Right after finishing my neighbor's project they came back and did a very nice job enhancing our asphalt driveway. It wasn't a big job but the entire company was very professional and I would certainly hire them again.
