I unfortunately had an incredibly disappointing experience working with Charlie for a home renovation project. Despite paying him over 26000 upfront for labor costs, he failed to complete even basic aspects of the contracted work professionally. He barely did any work, for the very few work he did, there are issues: • doors were installed improperly without alignment or doorknobs attached • Interior painting was left partially unfinished • Flooring was not installed as outlined in the contract • Floor refinishing was not done as outlined in the contract • An existing sink was removed but never put back • All the outlets were missing from the house • An entryway wall was damaged • The project timeframe extended to nearly 3 months with the home left in disarray Not only was the work extremely subpar in quality, but Charlie also consistently displayed unprofessional behavior. He barely showed up for work without any communication. When I raised concerns, he made unsubstantiated claims about needing further payment for electrical work and floor that was already covered in the down payment. Overall, Charlie took my money without doing 70 percent of the work. My home was left uninhabitable and in worse condition than before. The delays caused me to lose a potential tenant as well. Working with Charlie was a tremendously stressful experience that drastically impacted my life. I would strongly caution others from hiring him based on this demonstrated lack of workmanship, poor time management, and unreliable conduct.

We hired Charlie to remodel our house and it was THE biggest mistake we have ever made in our life. We paid him $26,150 upfront and not only he didn't do the work we paid for, but also he destroyed out house and abandoned it in a chaotic condition (see attached pics). He kept delaying the project (until he just disappeared one day), lying to us, and yelling very aggressively to us. We are now filling a lawsuit and, according to our experienced lawyer, we have 90% chance to win as, in addition to the fact that he ran away with our money and destroyed our house, his contract violates the NJ Consumer Fraud Act because it doesn't have start/end dates, doesn't disclose his insurance info, doesn't include dates and installments, among many other technical defects. We are after him and his business full steam ahead and I will be posting updates here, MORE to come. Please do a favor to yourself and NEVER hire Charlie, I wouldn't wish even to my worst enemy to go through the **** we went with Charlie!

Charlie arrived and did the installation without even looking at the instructions. He told me he has put in a hundred mailboxes and I believe him. He did the job in about an hour. I was so impressed I am going to have him do an installment of a new faucet fixture in my kitchen. I was truly pleased with the work he did and would definitely use him again.

No problem too small or challenging and Charlie runs his business as a true professional should. I suffered the demise of my mailbox after a recent snowstorm and an overzealous plow driver. Quite simply, the wooden post had been snapped off at the base. I had initially called another well-reviewed handyman who agreed to come out do a temporary repair until the spring when I would have him come back and put a new post/mailbox in. After several conversations and a little delay, that handyman came out and said that, because the ground was still too frozen from the last deep freeze, I might have to wait several weeks for the temporary install. I questioned that simply because I knew that there were ways to work around frozen ground (e.g., even with boiling water and a pickaxe) so, before I completely gave up, I tried Atlantic Remodeling Inc. Both Charlie and his office assistant scoffed at the response I had gotten from the first gentlemen and Charlie guaranteed he could fix the mailbox quickly. True to his word, Charlie promptly came out a couple of days later and, using a steel reinforcement spike I had purchased at one of the big box hardware stores, reinstalled the mailbox that day. It sits solid and firm in the ground and, were I not planning to buy a new one in the near future, could probably last forever (or at least until it meets another overzealous plow driver) Cost? Nothing. As a true businessman understands, good and trusted service brings in loyal, dedicated customers. Not only will I have him install my new mailbox and post this coming spring, but I have several other larger jobs that I will need in the next year or so. Charlie will have my business for those as well.

Charly started on time as promised and finished up in 3 days. He was there from 9am to 6pm with his foreman who did a great job. Charly kept his promises and asked me to review things to make sure I was happy. He did everything as promise. He even went above and beyond. Great guy, I will use him again. Thanks!

Charlie replaced an old mailbox post as well as repaired my mailbox. He was gracious and professional. A pleasure do business with.

I needed my odd size warped exterior door replaced at my shore house as fast as possible because I was having guests arrive this week. I had been trying for three weeks to get someone to do the work (with no success). I decided to try Angie's list. I called on Saturday..they returned my call immediately. We set up an appointment for 9:00 am Tuesday. They arrived on time. Looked at the job. They immediately removed the door, found a replacement, modified it to fit properly, painted it (2 coats). They hung the door and replaced the locks and knob with new ones and cleaned every tiny speck of debris. Then when I was told the price was very happy they charged me a very fair amount. They were great! I will definitely use them again..

Everything was fine. We weren't sure how soon we would be able to use the mailbox, he called me back to let us know we can start using it right away.

Found them here on Angie's list, great reviews. Our mailbox was hit by a truck, they agreed to pay for damage thankfully. Charlie came out and did the job early in the morning a few days after calling didn't even have to buy the mailbox! Billed the truck company, would recommend Charlie at Atlantic for handymen jobs for sure!!!

In both cases, the work was completed quickly, and the result was excellent quality. From first contact to completion of the work, communication was professional and timely. Both Charlie and his workers were pleasant and friendly, and the results were above expectations.

I couldn't believe he worked so fast! He gave me his card and told me that he does other work. Considering the mess my mailbox made, I was happy with the job he did. Everyone else that I called about this job pushed me aside. A couple never even returned my call. I like that he's local and reliable. He said he'd be out ASAP and he was!
