Problem fixed. But they charged $342 to change a $25 water hose. It needed to be done so I paid the price. But never have I encountered a service professional with such total lack of respect for a customer. I expressed my puzzlement at the price forgetting that he had quoted me 300+ for the job over the phone. Oh boy I shouldn't have done that. He berated me over the phone. Guess I got what I deserved. Should have called around and checked prices with other plumbers. Picked Aumenta plumbing due to their stellar reviews. Have to say I am surprised that other people find them/him so helpful and professional.

If Angie's list included an A+ rating, I would use that! Okay, so this wasn't a "major" service call or anything, but the simplicity and responsiveness and focus on customer service is what puts this over the top! Just like one might only hope to find a car mechanic that won't jerk them around with jargon or make unnecessary repairs I felt that Carmine was totally above board. - So, the details - This is a rental property in Elizabeth, NJ. Yesterday, I had the furnace serviced because it wouldn't start up. I used Angie's List to find another vendor who promptly came out and completed the repair. All good. Except, today, the tenant calls to say there was no hot water. He went downstairs, saw that the pilot light was out and couldn't light it back up. Being that I live out of town, I needed help. The tenant has a 1 year old in the apartment so the fix couldn't wait. I turned to my trusty Angie's List and found Carmine. When I called, Carmine answered and said he could have someone there in the early afternoon (in fact, it was probably no more than 90 minutes after our initial call). And so it went - Danny showed up on time, gave me a call and went to work. Carmine later called to tell me that it appeared the gas line had been shut off (to the water heater)! - Did the furnace repair guy do that? Did the tenant do it by accident while troubleshooting? I may never know. But I do know that it made sense and Carmine provided a straightforward answer when he could have made any number of claims or said parts needed replacing, etc. Nope! Not here! THANK YOU, Carmine for your honesty and great customer service! You can be sure to get my business in the future!!!

Needed to replace my water heater. Of all the service providers called their price was in the middle but the lower price quote was for a lesser quality product. The work got done the same day, in by 2:30 and out by 6p. The entire process was handled quickly and efficiently. The worker was friendly, polite, and professional and took the time to answer all my questions about the plumbing system in my old house.

My tenants called me with no hot water and a smoky smell, to hot water heater. I placed a call to five plumbers and Carmine was the only one to call back. The job was done properly. I have a new plumber!

Very good experience. Ben (the business owner's son) was prompt and very helpful. A quick assessment, followed by a fair quote, and all work performed in one hour.

I think Carmine was very thorough and professional. He came out quickly, looked into the issue, and researched options. The estimate to replace our water heater was higher than I had expected, but Carmine explained the reasons behind it as well as possible cost saving options. I decided to put a little more research into issue, so have not yet moved forward. I thought the level of service from Carmine was high enough to warrant an immediate review.

The disposer was replaced within 30 minutes after the plumber arrived at my house, which is timely. However, the contractor has been extremely unprofessional about my simple request to send me a receipt for the work performed. He used words like "nightmare" and "grief" just because I called him twice about the receipt. After charging my credit card right away, it's going to take them 5 days to generate a receipt to email to me. He even said it's not worth for the price paid - I paid the price he quoted over the phone (with taxes). He indicated that I did a "bad thing" by not tipping the guys after paying $190 for half an hour of work, and this is why receipt is being delayed. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL IN DEALING WITH CUSTOMERS!!

We are looking to buy an apartment with some plumbing issues that came up in the home inspection. I called Carmine and asked if he would give me an estimate of the cost of these issues. Within an hour of sending him the list of issues, he got back to me with a rough estimate and an explanation of the issues. I called 3 different plumbers and he was the only one who was willing to give me an estimate based on the known issues from the inspection. I will definitely consider using him for future estimates and work.

Carmine was wonderful to speak with about scheduling and was able to flexible with sending a plumber over to run the line after my new fridge arrived. The tech was polite and explained everything. The best part was that the price was fair ($215) and for the first time I didn't feel like I was getting taken for a ride. I'll definitely be calling Carmine and his crew again!

At 1pm on the Friday before Memorial Day weekend -- and before we were scheduled to depart on vacation at 3pm -- our top floor tenant notified us that they had a malfunctioning toilet that they had neglected to tell us about all week. Our usual plumber was unavailable until Tuesday. We called CPA and explained the situation and they were incredibly responsive and said that they would have someone at our apartment within the hour. The plumber arrived with time to spare and was incredibly professional and was able to address our issue in time to allow us to depart as scheduled. Thank you CPA and we look forward to working with you again. It looks like we found a new plumber!

Ben picked up the phone right away and was very pleasant. Came to our house and got the job done in less than an hour.

Provided same day service for my hot water tank replacement. They provided a free consultation just an hour or two after the call. After confirming that it needed to be replaced, they went out to get the parts and came back and replaced it immediately with ensuring that everything was up to regulation. Hot water is now working great. Would definitely recommend.

The first visit went really well - the two men that came out to work were very nice and informative. The slop sinks in my basement were backed up and full of water, and I couldn't figure out why. They took their time with trying to determine where the clog was exactly and why it was backing up the slop sinks but nothing else. At the end of their work, they took the time to explain all their steps to me and taught me how to turn the water on and off in case of emergency. My tenant upstairs had complained of some issues with her tub faucet (cast iron tub: the pipes outside the tub were leaking, and the faucet ran quite a bit even when she turned the shower head on), and they went upstairs to determine what the issue was even though I hadn't asked for this when I originally called. They also stuck around for a while to investigate a few other plumbing and heating issues that had popped up over the last few months, and clearly explained the kind of work that would need to be done in order to fix everything up. After I paid, they said that I would receive an invoice/receipt by the end of the day, as well as a quote for the other items we had discussed. I received an invoice 3 business days later and about a week after that I received a phone call with a quote for the other services. They came in a second time to replace some pipes and the faucet for my tenant. The work was performed efficiently and afterwards he explained to me exactly what he had done. He also came back down to my apartment to ask a few more questions about my own bathtub issues and gave me some REALLY helpful advice on how to re-tile my the wall around my shower head, faucet, and handle so that I wouldn't ruin any of them (bathroom is currently undergoing renovations). Both times the service men showed up exactly when promised. The only drawback to their service is that it is quite expensive. I received quotes that were far lower for these services from other companies, but I decided to go with them first because they had great availability and were rated so highly here on Angie's list and the second time because they did do a good job.

I called Carmine Aumenta Plumbing on a weekday morning and they came the next business day as promised. This was very repsonsive considering that it has been extremely cold with sub freezing temperatures this winter. As a result, many folks have had plumbing issues recently and reputable plumbers like Carmine Aumenta are very busy. All the work was done carefully, quickly and neatly. Ben Aumenta, who performed the work, made helpful suggestions for the prevention of future issues and answered all my questions very thoroughly. This is a family owned and operated business that I have used in the past, which provides great service at resoanble prices, and which I can recommmend without any reservations.

Came the morning after I reported the problem as an emergency. Work completed with minimal wall and ceiling damage. Very good about cleaning up.

I've used Aumenta for several years -- this experience reminds me of why. Last night was the coldest night in 20 years, so one of my pipes froze. I called Aumenta first thing in the morning, and a plumber arrived within 40 minutes!! Unbelievable, considering the amount of other calls they had. As usual, the plumber was polite, fast, efficient, and neat: once everything was done, we discussed how to stop it happening again. Price was very reasonable for an emergency situation. This is why I keep using Aumenta -- they do good work, and they are SO responsive! I highly recommend them.

Carmine was prompt and very professional. He fixed my garbage disposal, leaks, re-ran my condensation line from my HVAC and plugged the pipe in the basement. The thing I really like was he gave me options, and recommendations on how to save money on a few other HVAC issues I have. Carmine was great!!!! I will definitely use him again.

Two plumbers were polite, professional and punctual. They needed to cut out a portion of the wood floor and replace the toilet flange which had been installed incorrectly by a contractor. They were able to do this by only damaging one tile to expand the opening and install a new pvc pipe and connect it below with a straight section. They spent about two and one half hours and were able to complete the job. They were careful to clean up afterwards. The cost works out to about 235.00 per hour for each plumber including materials.

They were very friendly and courteous on the phone. Gave me best (retrieve with snake) and worst (uninstall whole toilet to unvert and shake object lose) case scenarios, including possible price for both. Said they would come in the afternoon, someone called to ask if they could come by just 2 hours later. They were in and out in about 10min, thankfully without having to take apart my toilet! Very professional, overall from phone call to service and fair pricing for an emergency plumbing call. I would definitely use them again, will keep their business card on my fridge for future reference.

He hung up on me twice. On the third time he claims he didn't hear me. Carmine finally shows up 4 hours later. He refused to come in because another plumber had just shown up the same time he did. Needless to say, he didn't get the job.

Responsive, professional, and courteous. The work was done well and efficiently. Great overall service. Also very forthcoming with advise. I would use them again.

The customer service was excellent. They sent someone out and fixed the problem the same day we called. The person was very professional. The price was a little more than I expected, but the overall experience was great.

They're very professional. That's why I called them again. I've used them in the past. They're just expensive. I had it done by someone else for cheaper. It was more money than I thought it should have been. So, I didn't use them. They were on time.

They were fast, which was great. I called them. They basically came in and fixed it the same day. That was nice. They came in, looked at it, went back, got the part, came back and fixed it. It was done in like less than an hour. They do a good job.

They're amazing. I had them out here twice. They just have been great and reasonable. They're not expensive. We're very happy. It's a family-owned business. They really seemed to care about what they're doing.
