Very pleasant experience. Did the garage tuning/inspection.

VERY OVERPRICED! We purchased an Angies List coupon for a tune-up and replacement rollers for $99. by TGS Garages and Doors. We made an appointment and Eric Nelson came out to do the tune-up. Our garage door was very noisy and he noticed that the cable was frayed and the spring was separated and bent on one side of the garage. We knew that the repair had to be made and that the springs and cables had to be replaced on both sides. Eric was very professional and did a great job, but the service was very OVERPRICED! It took him about an hour to replace the rollers, lubricate, replace the springs, and coils. Even with the $99. coupon for the maintenance, the bill was $743. It's' even more disheartening when neighbors hire other companies from Angies list with A ratings and the same job is done with the same materials and quality of workmanship for less than half the price!

Excellent service; Although I paid for replacing rollers and servicing the rails, I was unsure whether that was actually the problem. The technician looked at it and informed that the issue was with the motor which needed new gears. He was willing to service the part to make the garage door functional again. While he did recommend changing other parts and the opener, he was not pushy. Worked with me to make the garage operational again, and gave me several options to work with. I appreciated his honesty and that he did not try to pressure me into buying something I did not need.

From first phone call to arrange an appointment to installation, the entire process ran smoothly. Deanna, the office staff, was great. After making the appointment, she called to confirm and called again to thank me for sending in the necessary paperwork. Charles, the salesman and supervisor, arrived at my home on time and was not in the least pushy. Rich arrived at my home today at 8:00 a.m. sharp and did a fantastic job with the installation. He went over the operation of the doors and opener and was very patient. I am extremely happy with the job and would highly recommend this company

Pedro ,the technician, arrived on time and performed the assigned job along with replacing the seal and rollers. Everything went quick and smoothly. Pedro was very nice and courtious. I would use this company again.

Service tech ran late due to prior appointments in front of mine but both the office and he contacted me to keep apprised. The original call for just to perform a tune-up but he showed me where the springs were stretched out and needed to be replaced. After talking everything thru, I decided to go with a major overhaul and get a 10-yr warranty. The service tech explained everything to me and I felt very comfortable with what needed to be done and why. He presented options to me and I made the selection that best fit my needs. He also gave me tips on what I could do to help prolong the life of my garage door opener. My dealings with the company and most specifically the service technician were extremely positive and satisfactory. I would use them again and recommend them to others.

Before they came, my garage door, although working, sounded like a shoot-out at the OK corral every time it opened or closed. Pedro Rodriguez came, checked out the door, and recommended replacement of the rollers (I think that's what they're called), so I accepted the recommendation, he installed them, and now the door sounds like a space ship! Terrific!

Pedro was very professional and pleasant. As promised, he called when about a half hour out, showed on time. He answered questions, gave us some information on where the minor problems were (springs are somewhat overstretched as the door has previously spent more time closed than being used), some ideas for addressing over all condition of the door opening system, including some rough pricing for us to consider. When he left, the door worked much better, and we'll hope to maybe do additional work come summer. Very pleased with the in house service, and the cheerful and professional ladies who called to schedule and remind us of the appointment.

I didnt use the deal because I purchased the deal for the wrong area. They were excellent and very nice. Very pleasant.

The initial crew came out and removed the old garage door before noticing that the wood at the bottom of the vertical columns was compromised. There was carpenter ant damage. They could have easily discovered this BEFORE removing my old garage door. It was too late so they partially installed the new door in order to cover the hole. They were going to leave with a 3 inch gap opening at the top of the door until I insisted they fill it with something so the garage wasn't exposed to the elements and bugs. One of the men told me they wanted to get to their family picnic. They also failed to properly install the track on one side of the garage ceiling, so when they moved the metal, they left 5 small holes in the ceiling. The wood needed to be replaced and TGS quoted me an additional $1,000. I got a local carpenter to replace the wood for almost half that. So, when TGS returned later to finish the install, they tried to slip into the balance an additional $80 fee for having to return to my house a second time. No one told me about the extra fee and I refused to pay for it. They also refused to do anything about the holes left in my ceiling which I sent them photos of. When I spoke to "Charlie" on the phone he threatened me that they would come back and remove the garage door they just finished installing. When I told him I would call the police, he said go ahead because I owed them $. He then agreed to remove the added fee. I later that day settled the balance in full with a reduction for the damage they caused to the ceiling. I was very upset about being threatened and intimidated by this Charlie. I was later told by the owner that phone calls are taped. I hope they listened to that tape and fired Charlie. I understand the worker who had to rush to the family picnic was fired for some reason. Overall, not a good experience.

A great experience overall. When I called to schedule an appt they were quite booked up but the woman I spoke with was able to call me back with a time that same week. Rich the service technician called to let me know he was on his way and was great to work with. I never once felt that he was trying to sell me on something I didn't need. As a matter of fact after looking over the doors and openers and explaining everything he explained why the repairs I was expecting to have done that day weren't the direction I should go. He then serviced both doors quickly and efficiently and also took the time to write up an estimate for a future door replacement. We will be looking to replace the doors in the near future and will absolutely be going with Total Garage Solutions.

I couldn't have been more happy. David the tech did it all by himself and took old doors with him and cleaned up area that the work was done in. He even help move stuff in garage for me so he could do the work...... Best part of it all it only took about 21/2 hours to do it.

It was excellent, the technician ( I believe his name was Steven) they sent out to do the original evaluation was great. The technician (Eric) that came to do all the work was great as well. He even programmed the door openers in my vehicles to open the garage doors. Everything looks amazing. The lady that handled all the phone calls was very prompt and did everything she said she would. All in all it was a great service.

We recently moved into a new house, and getting automatic garage door openers was a priority given that its the winter and we have an infant. I searched around Angie's list for well-reviewed companies, and after contacting 3 or 4, TGS gave me the best quote so I went with them. I was happy with the service and installation by the technician and by my interactions with their sales staff on the phone. Only reason(s) I didn't give straight A's down the board were: price: best price I was quoted, but still a tad higher than I would have liked to spend....might have been able to potentially find a better price, but didn't want to contact any companies with below A ratings. punctuality: originally was told 9-1 window, day before was changed to 11-2 (which was fine), and installer arrived at 150. Did receive the 30 minute ahead of time call, and was in the window. So thats just me nitpicking I guess. Overall was happy was the service, and the installer took the time to explain everything.

I came home on a Friday night and saw the old opener die. I called them @ 6PM and they had someone ready for Monday. We had a huge snowstorm that Monday and they called me Monday morning and asked if they could reschedule to the next day. The installer arrived on time. He inspected the old opener and offered to try to repair it but I decided that after 20 years, it was time for a replacement. Besides the opener, the springs on the door wer really small and stretched out and did not have safety cables in place which always bothered me because I have seen those springs snap and the resultant damage. We went over the options (belt, chain, etc) and then worked up an estimate for me. He had all the necessary equipment on the truck. The whole job in a few hours. And that's no small feat because it was freezing that day. I've already referred them to friends and would definitely use them again.

They installed a new garage door in a tight space because most of the garage was made into a bed room.

Excellent. The salesperson answered all our questions and managed to get specific non-standard doors delivered quickly. The price was competitive for what we wanted done. The installation team arrived early and finished early, demonstrated the operation, security, and safety aspects of the systems and answered the few questions that we still had - very polite and professional. Two very minor issues (we can be picky): the installation team actually arrived almost an hour earlier than expected and we all missed that one of the remotes only worked on one of the doors. We fixed the latter problem using the users' guide to reprogram the remote so didn't need a follow-up with the contractors. Overall an excellent experience with a contractor - equal to the very best we have had in 30+ years as home owners.

The Serviceman, Rich was prompt, knowledgeable, personable, dog friendly and just a super representative for the company. He explained everything in detail and showed me how it worked and what he was doing. Best service call I have ever had. Would recommend Rich and Total without reservation.

They did an excellent job, very competent and knowledgeable about garage doors. I just wish it wasn't so expensive. Without knowing what the issue was, we had no idea how to price compare with other companies. My neighbor had the same work done at a fraction of the cost with another company. If money was no object, I would highly recommend this company. But if saving money is a priority, then maybe they're not the right choice.

Making an appointment was easy, and there was no delay. The repairman was professional, and it was clearly the company training and values that motivated this. At the end he gave me checklist of all of the things they consider, from giving an accurate and realistic estimate to fully cleaning up. The repairman seemed to take everything on the list to heart. With extensive experience, he was able to quickly identify the problem and provided several options. We talked about what he could do right away and what he could do later, and we decided on immediate repairs. He even benchmarked the prices vs what we would see with other options. The only thing that felt uncomfortable was that I was given the current "sale" price, reducing the repair visit by $79. Of course, it was nice to hear about a discount offer. But I had seen nothing on their web site about it nor anything mentioning a $79 repair fee. Admittedly, I may have missed it. But it just felt a bit more like a sales pitch than a real offer. Again, nothing major.
