Description of Work: Did 4 loads of laundry and noticed a back up of water in my basement. The shower drain near my washing machine was backed up. In addition, 2 other areas in my basement had water including the area around the main access to the sewer line towards the front of the house. Got out my wet vac and started cleaning up. Next stop was my computer on Angies List to find a plumber. I was really apprehensive that this was going to cost me an arm and a leg and was hoping I would find someone who I could trust. I chose Peace of Mind Plumbing and Heating. Thank God I did.

He was very very responsive - once he came and fixed the issue early in the morning, the second time (the problem was different) after I left a voice message to them late night - he called me back at midnight to help us (even though they don't have 24 hour service) and came right away. Thanks to Mike - we will sleep in our warm house tonight... I cannot thank you enough for tonight... I suggest them to anyone who needs heating service / repair. They do a quick /proper work; and also they are polite - easy to work with...

Description of Work: I have called them for two separate things. Once was to replace my kitchen faucet. The other time was because I had a leak in my basement from a water filtration system. The cartridge was leaking.

Description of Work: I have been using Mike for a long time. They have done work on toilets, sinks, sump pump, and all my general plumbing issues that arise from time to time. He has cleaned out my furnace before as well. He came to fix my sump pump most recently.

Description of Work: They fixed a little leak that was in a pipe in our basement. They cut out that section and put in a new nozzle.

Description of Work: I had a couple of emergency issues happening in my bathroom and my landlord entrusted me with finding a plumber to take care of them, at his expense. I reviewed a few companies' info ratings on Angie's List and decided to call Peace of Mind Plumbing & Heating (it had pretty good reviews). Mike was very quick to call me back (got a call-back within the hour I left a voice mail). We made an appointment for the same day at 4 P.M. This was very convenient since we could not use our toilet without getting rained-on by the tenant above's own toilet. I gotta say that Mike and his assistant Jordan were extremely gracious since I ran out of the office late and made it to our appointment late and they still waited for me. Once inside they pinpointed the problem happening to the toilet above and determined it could be 2 issues. One was a leaky valve that needed to be replaced and the other could be a wax ring replacement. They changed the valve since it was an obvious issue and we agreed to wait a day or so and see if the wax ring also needed to be dealt with (why perform a repair if it was never needed right?) I also had a heat pipe in the bathroom radiator that threw off extreme amounts of steam and it had caused my walls to peel and fall apart. Mike realized the base pipe had a hole and replaced it right then and there. These two items were done in about 1 hour and a half (they had to wait for the upstairs tenant to allow them in for the toilet valve repair). Later that evening (around 9 P.M.) I noticed the toilet above still leaked over mine and I called Mike. I left a voicemail and he called me back within 20 minutes. We made an appointment for the very next day at 5 P.M. and he and Jordan showed up promptly. They replaced the wax seal at the toilet above and even caulked the base as an extra precaution.

Description of Work: The cast iron drain stack was replaced from the forth floor into the basement crawlspace with two inch PVC pipe. The line was reconnected into the kitchen sinks and all the piping was strapped and secured.

Description of Work: Came and diagnosed problem. Cleared difficult blockage from drains. Explained all work that was required to complete the job. Efficiently completed job and cleaned up completely afterward.

Description of Work: Mike really was a breath of fresh air. I was skeptical of Angie's List but when our regular plumber became extremely busy, we knew we needed to find someone else. We have a bathroom circa 1976 that has a tub that has a shower with sliding glass doors on it and it was leaking badly. We didn't know exactly where the leak was coming from and were afraid that we may need a new bathroom. So when Mike came over first he spoke with my parents and he replaced the water faucets/shower head and then I came home from work and he showed me what he did and why he did it. And then he told me that we would also need new shower doors installed but that he didn't work with glass so we would need to find someone else to do that. But I didn't understand why he changed the faucets, after all, it didn't stop the leak and challenged him. Mike's demeanor was calm, relaxed and reassuring and told me that my old ones were faulty/leaking and that when I took a shower that I would see what he was talking about. He further said that we didn't have to pay him right now and that we could wait till after the new shower glass doors were installed if wanted to do and thats what we did. So the next morning when I took a shower, I only realized then why he changed the fixtures. So I called him up and told him that he was right and we put that check in the mail.

Description of Work: Two jobs were performed. The first was the installation of a toilet (toilet supplied by owner) in a rental property. Mike did an excellent job in removing the old toilet and replacing it with a new one without any issues. The second job was the installation of a drain for a washing machine in my basement. Mike had to cut out and tie into the existing plumbing to make sure water for the washing machine was able to drain without having a 10 ft hose run across the basement. He came up with some good ideas for routing the pipe which was all done to code.

Description of Work: Mike is a true professional with superior customer service. I had a boiler that I needed replaced in a home I own occupied by tenants. I live in Columbus, Ohio now and recently moved from MAywood, NJ but have a property manager running the show. The property manager got me 2 estimates from respected companies. I decided to research prospects on Angie's list to get a few more estimates. I called 5 other companies and was really impressed when I spoke with Mike. He answered all my questions, went to my house that afternoon to get me an estimate and followed up with me. The tenants said he was much more thorough then the other service providers when he assessed the situation at hand. The work was done the day after I approved the estimate and everything has gone smoothly.
