Cipriani Remodeling Solutions

We were undertaking a major remodeling project. They were very professional but they did not fully understand what we wanted done or about our project. I have found other companies that I think highly of so I would not use them again.

Unfortunately they are one of the few companies that will handle all of these items together. I work full time and did not want to be a general contractor for the job. I knew they had been around for a while and mistakenly assumed that they would be reputable. I later asked various individual contractors how much they would have charged for each of the individual components of the job, and my total was far less than half of what Cipriani charged me. They also changed out some of the materials to cheaper ones without telling me. After installation of same, it was too much of a problem to replace them. On the positive side, they did show up on time, they were respectful, clean and courteous. There was a small problem with the electric, which after two phone calls they did fix. In general I would view them as a company of last resort. If you absolutely can not hire the individual contractors yourself, and do not care about the cost they are for you. Otherwise, I think you can do better elsewhere.

Our interactions were pleasant.

Their price was double that of other companies' prices, so we found someone else to do the work.

It was a really trying experience. Thankfully, my husband was able to supervise throughout the entire project but if he was not present during the work a lot of mistakes would have been covered up. They promised a certain project manager but he was only there for maybe two hours tops per day because he was at what you might say a “bigger and better” project. This was not what we had agreed on. The tile leading up to the shower was fitted with subway tile and not fitted properly because the drywall was not leveled right. They tile showed an obvious curve. They tried to cover up the mistake but we made them redo the work. It was later resolved but I was not satisfied with the service. They did promise they would follow up a year later but they never did. A lot of promises were made but not kept. The upper management did a fine job and tried to mend things over. However, they could have acknowledged their mistakes better. They also left marks on our floors and did not correct the issue completely. We hired them because of some work we have seen completed by them but we were disappointed. It was not one of our better experiences but the work was good.

Jim Z the site supervisor was very responsible and competent. All workers were polite and clean. Also Cyprian gives 3 years warranty all working Very prompt n call back for ac.

They were very good to work with and the guy came out to the house. He gave us a quote and they were way out of line. He met with us and before he gave us the final quote we told him that we had gone with someone else. The gentleman that came out was excellent. He was really good to work with and he had a lot of information and suggestions. When they ball parked the price they were just very high. The information that they provided was excellent, it was just that the pricing that we got from other contractors were much lower. They were really good and it was not his fault the prices were high.

They came out took all the measurements and photos to provide us with a complete estimate. We met after about 2-3 weeks, at their office to go over the scope of the work. Very disappointed to find out how much this kitchen was going to cost, very expensive! We are going with someone else.

Cipriani is an excellent company. They do very good work, and they have stood by their work for the last 6 years. They repair anything when asked, for no charge. Cipriani is a unique company in that they just don't do the work and leave. They stand by their work. They have repaired things that didn't work, and put a new roof on when it started to leak. I can't recommend them highly enough! They are very personable, and very reasonable. They also have a flexible payment plan. I would give every thing about them an A Plus!

Cindy came for an estimate within a few days after I called and came at the appointed time.. I needed some home repairs, and repair/ replacement of some cedar boards on my deck.This company truly only does big remodeling jobs like kitchens & baths, thay are not interested in the smaller things. Cindy did give me the name of a local handyman, and was really nice about it. I just wish they had pre-screened (asked me) my questions on the phone.I do not understand why Angie's list referred them for handyman services. It was a wasted time for both me & them.Angie's needs to refine who will do Big vs Small jobs

They are a professional company that clearly does excellent work however they are a bit out of our price range and we won't be using them.

We met Jay Cipriani as a result of a nightmare from another contractor. Ours was a waterproofing job that went terribly wrong. We were going to contact another waterproofing company to remediate the situation when a friend suggested using a builder. Immediately we thought of Cipriani Builders in Woodbury. We didn’t think of contacting a builder for home projects since we thought they only build additions or new houses, but that is a misconception about Cipriani Builders & Remodeling Solutions. The owner, Jay Cipriani, was very sensitive to our concerns about contractors and we were cautious about this project too. Just like many homeowners, we also have an array of contractor stories. Jay visited our home and then we met at his office to discuss all the details of the job. We didn’t want anything to be omitted, misconstrued or missed and he understood our need to have a complete understanding of the job in both written and visual form. He incorporated our modifications to the job into the contract and told us that it was important that the homeowner and contractor are in complete agreement and understanding to avoid any miscommunications. Jay continued the communication with his team and checked every aspect of the job with us. As the job progressed we could hear the team reviewing, describing and verifying the job specifications to make sure everyone was on the same page. We are so delighted that words can’t express it. It’s hard to believe that we can now use a positive word when it comes to a contractor, but we can with Cipriani. The job was over the top superb, on time, on budget, at a fair price and the workmanship was fantastic. We will be contacting Jay Cipriani for all future work and in fact have already requested a quote to refinish our damaged basement. We are looking forward to working again with Jay and his team, and more importantly to get a superior job done right the first time so we can once again enjoy our finished basement. All of the people at Cipriani from the owner down to the workmen were professional in every way. We were informed of every step of the process and when a problem with the construction of the wall was discovered, they took pains to show and explain exactly what the problem was and what our options were. There was existing shrubbery and lawn around their work area and after they were done, we couldn't even tell that a new wall had been constructed. That's how careful they were. Since the wall opened onto our bedroom and it was winter, they constructed a temporary plastic enclosure to keep out debris and weather. Our salesperson came by every few days to make sure everything was going well and to see if we had any questions. In fact, I enjoyed John's visits and rather miss him now. He's a great guy. Same with Bud Hiles, the project manager and foreman. His work was topnotch and you couldn't ask for a nicer person. All in all, it was the best experience we could have had, considering that noone likes to discover this kind of costly and major structural defect.

He was very professional. He was really very honest. He said that he was really far and it wouldn’t really cost a little bit more for them to really come this far as it was kind of that small job. He was very nice and very professional. He sent out the whole portfolio about how the job would go from the beginning to the end before they even came to the house. He didn’t come out but I talked to him over the phone and then he sent me a packet. Then when I called back and said where we live, he figured out that it was really too far for him to come.

Cirpriani first has you meet with a designer to explain your needs, etc. He provides plans, examples, and than a price for each project. Once approved, he went everywhere with us to pick everything out so that it matched and could get us the best prices. We had a great time, it was so much fun. A great service if you have trouble coordinating items. From the sconce on the wall to the faucets to the shower head down to the handles on the vantity. The overall timeframe was much longer than they originally quoted us. This was due to the problems with the township inspection and it seemed that Cipriani had trouble getting their own workstaff on-site at times. As with any construction project they ran into problems but were able to figure them out to our satisfaction. My biggest problem is that the on-site contruction guys kept asking us questions about the remodeling that their designer already knew and we decided on. Seems like the communications between the designer and construction crew was lacking several times which cause us aggravation. I expressed this concern to Ciprirani and told them they need to improve their communications. You also pay as you go. As certain items are completed on your checklist you will provide them with a check. I did not pay my final bill until all the work was completed and the designer came back for a walk-through which we found a few things and he honestly did not like a couple of final items so he had them change it on their own dime. After this was completed and cut the last check. What is important to know is that Cirpriani will NOT be your cheapest vendor to provide services. You can find cheaper vendors but I went with Cirpriani because the end product was always excellent. About 10 years ago they built a $80K addition on my home and it is still in excellent condition with no problems. In summary if you want a quality product they will give it to you but you will have to pay alittle more.

The work started after all the materials were in and they stuck to the approved timeline they had given us. Everyday the men arrived as planned and cleaned up before they left. They were dependable and went over any questions that we may of had prior to doing the work since this was our first major remodel. Nick, who was our project manager, was friendly, honest and a meticulous craftsman. From start to finish, Nick took care of everything that took place on site. I can not say enough good things about the work that was done from Cipriani Builders. At the start of the project Cindy Cipriani, who is their remodeling designer, visited us to see what we had planned. I felt she not only listened to what we had in mind but she also was able to take our vision and add her expertise design skills which resulted in a new kitchen that not only looks better but is organized better than what we had ever imagined! During the early design stage, Cindy and I shopped together for specific countertops, faucets, tile flooring and backsplash. We made a few changes from our initial quote but the change orders where handled quickly and professionally. Cost changes were discussed and we had good communication from all parties involved. We spent a bit more than expected but the new layout and additional options proved to be well worth it! Cipriani Builders is truly a grade "A" professional company and I recommend them without hesitation. I would definitely work with them again on future remodeling projects. They are a full service company. It is magnificent. It looks absolutely beautiful. They did a terrific job. The owner of the company is awesome and we are very pleased.

They were outstanding. They were the ideal contractor to get.

Except for the pricing problem, which is critical to completion of the project - everyone was responsive, polite and made you feel like part of the process.

We had a tight timeframe to completely renovate our kitchen. Cipriani worked within our budget, came up with a great design and executed on the job within the timeframes we all committed to. It was a very aggressive timeline from our first meeting to completion, and Cipriani made it happen. It was a great experience and the kitchen turned out beautiful and in time to celebrate Thanksgiving with our friends and family.

Kyle who made estimate for small bathroom job [= chrome & glass shelving in shower & bathroom, safety handlebar in bath, no-slip strips in tub & wood shelf in cabinet under sink] was extremely polite, well-spoken, well groomed & courteous.However, the price was so outrageous we never contracted with them.I assume they didn't want the work, unless we were dumb enough to pay their price; especially since they never made a follow-up call after Kyle's visit. Even though we indicated that if we liked their work we had 2 more bathrooms & shelving we needed along stairs to basement.

The home addition completion was promised in 8+ weeks. It was completed in 7, even with unforseen problems. One of these having nothing to do with the house- a terminal illness in the family . The crew and project mgr. were prompt, polite, personable. Neighbors commented that they worked full days-no standing around talking. They always had time for questions and suggestions from us ('change orders' became our theme song). They ran into unlevel floors where connecting new to old , termite damage to exterior support walls and you wouldn't know it to stand in our home. The subcontracting was arranged by the project mgr.and they were there when we told they would be At the end of each work day the area was broom clean . We felt our comfort was taken into consideration each and every day.

We didn't use Cipriani as we felt their quote was a bit high. We did hear that they did great work, but the price seemed a bit more than we were willing to pay at the time.

They were very nice, but their options of remodeling were a bit pricey for me. The estimator was prompt and knowledgeable but they weren't the company for me. Thought I did appreciate their information and suggestions.
