It went great! This is the whole reason to use Angie's List, so you can meet great service professionals like Terence, that you would have never found otherwise. Small operation, but has been in the business for years. He did a fantastic job, and finished in one day, quicker than he estimated. Great price, very personable and knowledgeable. The wall he repaired looks like glass. He made it look so easy, that I asked him for some pointers on another wall that needed work. He showed me his technique, gave me a little lesson, but believe me, the wall I did does NOT look like glass! We will be calling him again in the near future. A+++++

They emailed soon as they received the request, promptly came and gave an estimate and started the project on time. When a crack appeared in one area, Terrence promptly came back and redid the area to my satisfaction.

From start to finish it was an absolute pleasure to work with Terence. He repaired several spots in the plaster in my house and then skim coated one entire wall. The results were outstanding. He was in constant communication from my first telephone inquiry, providing a concise estimate and showing up when promised. In addition to his craftsmanship, he is one of the most personable and trustful people I have encountered in the contracting field. I will not hesitate to use him again or to recommend him to anyone I know. There are not many left like him.

Terrance responded to my email very quickly. Terrance and Fran came in a couple of days later to quote us on various jobs around our house, but most importantly removing the mirror over our fireplace and painting so I can mount my TV there. We accepted the quote and they did the job a week later. They came even with the power out in my home and it was quite chilly. The end cost was higher than their quote because there were what looked to be 20 holes behind the mirror that they had to patch up before they painted. However they couldn't have known that and the price was still good. We have quotes for some other jobs around the house and we will be using them again.

Terence and Fran are wonderful! They responded quickly to our emails and gave us very reasonable estimates. Although they live in Bloomfield, they were willing to drive to our new home in Princeton to paint for us. It was a two day job so we offered to put them up in a hotel for the night. They refused and insisted on sleeping in the house over night on a cot and yoga mat (!). They even realized in the middle of painting a room that it wasn't quite what we were looking for (we wanted mango but picked a paint closer to taxi cab yellow) and went to the store to choose a more appropriate color. It was exactly what we wanted. On top of being competent, professional, and well-priced, they are lovely people. Completely trustworthy and lots of fun to chat with. My husband and I cannot recommend them highly enough.

They came over and looked at the job, then provided a detailed written estimate. They were able to schedule the job the very next week. They did everything they said they would at the agreed upon price. No hassles or worries. I would definitely use Mulligan & Phillips again.

It was excellent. Terrence and Fran are extremely responsive-- even to email, which is the easiest communication method for me because of my job. They were on time every step of the way and even drew on their expertise to help me choose the colors. The finished product is gorgeous.

From start to finish they were professional and detail-oriented. When they came the first time I was impressed with the amount of time they spent looking at the room and talking to me about different options to make the room look perfect. I choose this company because unlike other companies who came to give us an estimate, they seemed focused on the details of the job. The final product was exactly what we had wanted, smooth walls and trim and painted perfectly.

They did a phenomenal job! I give them my highest recommendation. They worked tirelessly until the job was done. They not only met our deadline but finished early, They went above and beyond. I felt comfortable giving them my keys so they could let themselves in; they also received deliveries for us when we were out and let in other contractors; Terence called each night to update me on the job and repainted a wall, at no additional cost, when we decided that we didn't like a color we had chosen. Their work was not only professional, but also artistic. They are pros and provide only the highest quality of service. They were not the cheapest, not the most expensive, but they were worth every penny we paid. Again, I give them my highest recommendation.

Terence worked for hours and hours to prepare and clean the surfaces in the gritty utility room. Then he painted the whole room white. Next he called in Fran for her artistic touches to provide a mural of bubbles on the walls. Terence also worked to get just the right mix of colors to match the finish of the kitchen cabinets. I thought we were going to have to redo all the cabinets, but his work gave us many more years of life from those cabinets. Both Terence and Fran were always on time, neat while working and on cleanup, and very hardworking!

They did a very good job and we were very pleased with the results! I would hire them again if we needed.

Terence & Fran are amazing!!! What separates them from other painting contractors is that in addition to providing exceptional work, they are artists and that's what we needed. Not only did we need extensive painting done, we needed advice on colors as well as faux finishes. Fran would develop 5-10 sample boards of faux finishes for each room and together we would decide what looked best in our home. We found them to be extremely professional. For each room they would document costs, the colors chosen, what would be included and not included in the job. The quality of work and their attention to details was remarkable. And a real bonus is that they are very nice people and a pleasure to have in your home.

I was impressed by Fran's and Terence's attention to detail when they came to my home to give me an estimate. I wanted a neat, professionally done look so it was my main reason for choosing them from the four companies who gave me quotes, even though theirs was not the lowest. I didn't make a mistake; the results are beautiful. I experienced a lot of uncertainty in choosing colors and they patiently assisted me and tolerated my several changes of mind. They also showed an interest in my redecorating ideas and gave me some very helpful pointers. I plan to have the rest of my condo painted next year and wouldn't think of using anyone else. Fran and Terence are both very sociable and I enjoyed having them in my home. The work was done in the amount of time promised. The price was as quoted. With only the addition of the cost of the sample paints used while I made up my mind on colors.

Fran and Terrance were great painters who were also delightful to have in our home. Fran helped to chose all of the colors and spent a good deal of time helping us on it. They are very professional and have lots of experience. I will definitely call them again. They even came back to touch up a few spots.

Great! Work looks beautiful, very detail oriented, the wood moldings are back their original splendor (original to the 1930s house), repaired walls and ceilings before painted too. Pleasant to work with and helpful in choosing colors. Final price was slightly higher than estimate because tax wasn't figured in and woodwork took more time than anticipated.

Great experience. Fran and Terence both came to look at the place to determine an estimate. It is my first home. They were very knowledgeable and openly gave suggestions for the type of finish and work to improve the condition and look of my walls. They also were very kind giving me tips to make quick and easy improvement throughout the condo. After agreeing to use them, Fran came over to help choose colors. We looked at the bedspread to be used to decide on the bedroom color and considered the red couch in the living room to choose the living room color. She was very helpful and patient. The work was done quickly and cleanly. They even went out of their way to let the gas company in to turn on the gas and followed up with me to tell me it was done. They even went over a few spots where I felt I could see the old paint color coming through. It was a pleasant experience overall.

Mulligan & Phillips is a very professional and talented company. They were very helpful in suggesting color themes and provided various samples in a timely manner. The finished tables matched the respective samples, and the refinishing of the bed room furniture was a perfect match with the new carpet. They are very clean workers, leaving no mess during or after the work, and started and finished the jobs according to the projected schedule. They are fairly priced for the high quality of work performed. I would highly recommend them as a potential contractor.
