Description of Work: John installed two hot water heaters. Work was done in a timely manner and his crew was punctual and clean. Could not have gone better.

Description of Work: I have used Visentin Plumbing in the past and for this issue they recommended Essex Drain to clear clogged drain. Mike, from Essex Drain was responsive, clean and professional. Problem resolved.

Description of Work: Diagnosed leaking steam radiator,found cause after a few minutes,replaced valve,done. Replaced two stems and seats in the shower,done. Polite,clean,professional and reasonable.

Description of Work: Had tried several ways to clear kitchen drain which has been slow since I purchased the house. They came, tried to snake it from kitchen, then had to disassemble pipe in basement. Spent quite a while working on it (worked the entire time), tested with significant water for quite a while, asked me to verify it was ok (drains quickly now regardless of amount of water), cleaned absolutely everything, wiping down every little drop of water anywhere (including what I said I would take care of). Very professional and pleasant.

Description of Work: Believe in second chances, however, I was extremely disappointed in the work, responsiveness of Visentin. The initial visit to stop a leak in my shower into the basement was slowed but not stopped. All he did was wrap the connection with a bit of tape. I could have done that. After contacting the company again, it took two phone calls to get a response. He said he would be out Monday or Tuesday. I waited two weeks with no work or action. Also wanted more work done, but no action. Have contacted another plumber. Would not continue with Visentin.

Description of Work: I bought a Big Deal ($79 for $149 worth of services) and made an appointment for Mr. Visentin to repair a leaky toilet. He came out January 25, 2014, looked at the toilet for one minute, stated he would have to order a part and would call me when it came in, and he left. Having heard nothing further, I called him on March 19, 2014 to inquire about his search for the part. Mr. Visentine at first didn't remember the January appointment, then apologized and said he would order the part and get back to me. I never heard from him again. Most expensive - and disappointing - minute I ever spent for a plumber.

Description of Work: Beware of this company.John came out to install a p trap on my bathroom sink and charged me 167.00 for all of the 10 minutes it took him to do it.I felt it was overpriced but I have a large family and neede my sink.Within a week the sink started to leak.I called John and he sent two guys out who could not fix the sink because they did not have the correct parts so he wrapped a glob of plumbers tape on the drain pipe and said that should hold it,and charged me 85.00 for putting globs of plumbers tape on the pipe.Simply a patch job because within the week the sink started leaking again.I called john and he said he would come back.Well he never did so i never sent him the 85.00 he wanted. About a month later when he realized he had not rceived payment.He had a lawyer call me.Yes he sent me to a collections agency.So to sum it up my sink still leaks and I paid the 85.00 to stop the harassment calls and i will never recommend this company to anyone.

Description of Work: I was told that this company was working on an apartment building. The person said they would call me Monday I waited no call. I dont feel that this company was responsive to my situation. I will not use this service again.

Description of Work: Last October we decided to switch over to gas heat, and called John Visentin after reading about him on Angie's List. He came to our house promptly and in a focused and knowing manner examined the existing furnace, pipes, and radiators, making notes and checking everything. He said he would get back to us with an estimate. My wife suddenly appeared at the door and introduced herself--she wanted to get an impression--asked if he knew of the singer Robert Goulet and he indicated rather shyly that he did not, whereupon she said he was a singer from a time gone by and that he reminded her of that singer. As he turned to go down the steps she called after him, only you're better looking! Well, we got the estimate and it was similar to the other quotes we received, except John recommended a larger furnace than the others. After that I called him several times with a lot of questions, and he was very patient and informative and always returned my calls promptly. We engaged his services and the work began. The first day a crew of about five or six appeared to remove the old furnace. They set about like a team that was not only knowledgeable but used to working with each other. Off to a good start. The next day the installation began and continued for few days. When it was complete, my wife appeared again to view it and exclaimed my gosh what a beautiful thing, it looks like a piece of art, a giant sculpture...shiny and new and so different from what was there previously. The installation included piping and shut-off valves that were more than the minimum required for the job. For instance, there are extra valves that permit half the system to be turned off if there is a problem, leaving the other half to work until repairs are completed. The person who worked closely in this creation was Richie. John and Richie are totally a winning combination of two people who clearly know and love their work. They take great pride in their work and it shows. After a couple of months with the new furnace we have found that John's recommendation of a larger furnace was a good one. The new unit heats the house much more effectively than the old one, and so far our gas bills have been surprisingly low. I have a tendency to want to know everything about how an installation works, and so during the time that followed I called John several times with questions. Even though he had finished the work and had been paid, he gave me the same prompt, helpful responses as before. John Visentin is a gentle soul, patient with putting the old existing pipes with the new. He seemed to sense them. That's a really good asset when you're working in a town where a lot of the houses were built in the early part of the last century. When it came to a tricky situation, John knew when to hold it and when to press on. Like the time when he was tightning a large coupling between the old and new pipes. It had to be very tight so as not to leak, but not too tight or it would break. He knew just how far to tighten it, and it worked! Do we recommend him? Without reservation, John is the man. He's the king. Call him. You'll be glad you did!

Description of Work: I contacted Mr. Giancarlo Visentin because one of my radiators was not functioning properly. Mr. Visentin initially took his time on the telephone with me to assess the issue and provided advice aimed at solving the problem. The problem continued and he then visited my home free of charge to assess it himself. Mr. Visentin pinpointed the problem and gave me an honest and fair assessment of my alternatives. He was very professional and helpful. I would definitely call on his services again.

Description of Work: Completely unresponsive. I reached out to them via Angie's List in late December. Never heard back from them. I called them in early January and made an appointment for January 21st at 3pm. At 1pm, they called to tell me that they couldn't make it because of the weather. This was disappointing because it had snowed the previous night, but by 1pm all of the roads were already cleared. In fact, I had an HVAC estimated scheduled for 11am, and that company had no problem making it ok. Nonetheless, I didn't give Visentin a hard time, the gentleman said that he would call me on Monday to reschedule, I said ok. It's been five days and no one from there has bothered to reach out to reschedule. Very unprofessional and disappointing given the stellar reviews here.

Description of Work: Had them quote a job. They responded to my call and arrived on time to review my needs. They struck me as very professional. Their price however was extremely high ($2700). The solution to my heating problem was overkill. I got another quote and for a 1/10 of the price ($300) they were able to fix the problem. I just think they went for the costliest repair rather than thinking through all the less costly options.

Description of Work: John cleaned and flushed the boiler over & over & over until it ran clear. He did a wonderful job- unscrewing and checking every connection into and out of the boiler (furnace). He 'blew out' the dirt with a water hose until all corners and parts were clean & the water ran clear. He also replaced a valve on my steam radiator fast, clean & well. Gave me the 1st time Angie's List discount (10%) on the job. Great guy- very thorough & very clean & very reasonable! One guy that I called wanted $350 to do the flush & clean of the boiler!!! Very reasonable!
