Description of Work: Overall, the experience was ok. We needed good irrigation and help prevent water from entering our house. Firstly, the landscape designer Paul smith promised to resolve problem and gave a quote of 22k+2k contingency.. And gave us a bad crew to work in our yard, who broke our well, siding, deck stairs and then fixed it. The work was supposed to start in October and didn't start till end of November. Paul seemed to be nicer before we signed contract and got short tempered each day..he Wouldn't agree or foresee in the beginning that the work wasn't being done right.. Kept saying my men know what they're doing. The French drain pipes were installed too deep with existing clay on top of it, which made lots of water pooling right on top of French drain pipes. Many excuses were given that too much rain this year, too much rock in our yard than anticipated, can't stop water in hilly terrain... Well, it's not my fault and proves the inexperience. After much unhappy talks, couple different crews not fixing the actual problem, constant postponed schedules, we finally found one who fixed all the earlier problems including the main one by July 2014. So, if you are getting service from them, get Esau's crew, no one else is good there. In the end, we got what we signed up for, but was hassle.

Description of Work: I had a landscape lighting tune-up. I also had two automatic digital timers installed for my landscape lighting system. The technician was very professional and knowledgeable. I appreciated that he recommended the automatic timers- that turn the landscape lights on automatically at dusk.

+ -1 moreMy husband was happy with them. He was happy enough with what they did. They were excellent and we had no problems. They were nice and professional. They sent us a bill and the paper bill was fine. Their price was comparable.

+ -1 moreI ultimately selected another provider based on some minor differences between the proposed contracts. However, I would be remiss if I didn't take some time to briefly describe my experience with Hillsborough Irrigation despite not having gone with them to perform our installation. I contacted Hillsborough Irrigation for 2 reasons: 1. At our old house, our neighbor had them install their system and it appeared to function well. 2. Their office is within a mile or two of our current home, so there was a proximity consideration. After I contacted Hillsborough Irrigation, they came out within a day or two and provided a multiple estimates for the configurations I had requested in both e-mail and then hard copies via regular mail. Any questions I had, which I send via e-mail, were always answered within 24 hours. But what I think sets this company apart is that after we considered all the bids and selected another provider and informed Hillsborough Irrigation, the owner reached out to us via e-mail. Not to dissuade me from going with another carrier or make a plea to re-consider them, but to see where they can do better by understanding what factors led us to select another carrier and to keep them in mind in the future. So, between the price (which was on par with all the better rated providers) and the professionalism and courtesy this company demonstrated, I would highly recommend that anyone looking for lawn irrigation work consider contacting Hillsborough Irrigation as well.
