Friendly and courteous

I had high hopes for James. His work is quite good and he is very timely. Unfortunately, he was far more expensive than anyone I have EVER hired (before and after him). Additionally, he did some things that felt very questionable. For example, we told him we were thinking of maybe redoing the toilet and sink in the guest bath and what might that cost. The next day, we entered our home and the toilet and sink were gone. So it didn't matter what it cost, we were now committed to doing it without ever giving the go ahead. Additionally, we did two walk throughs ahead of time and James never wrote anything down. So of course he ended up doing something incorrectly and then asked that "we split the costs in order to maintain a good relationship" when he was the one that messed up. Also, he wouldn't provide us with receipts for anything he bought and when I said I wasn't comfortable paying until I got some receipts he became very nasty via email. Something doesn't add up with him and I will not be using him ever again.
