Kelly's Carpet Omaha

I went to Kelly's to purchase tile and carpet, even though I had heard some horror stories about bad pricing and availability. I specifically asked for what they had IN STOCK. "Janine Marsh" was my sales rep and while she said tile she could get in "a couple of days", she told me to my face that she had my selected carpet IN STOCK. (I didn't need a lot...about 1100 square feet of carpet and about 250 square feet of tile). However, when my installers went to pick it up the next day, it turns out they did NOT have it in stock and worse, after a couple of days of broken promises, it turned out it would take over a week and half MORE to "maybe" get it in. My tile was the same way--over a week and half to "maybe" get it. Promises, promises. Look, if you want my money, don't LIE to me to get it. I cancelled my order the next day and complained to the Manager. This type of sleazy, poor customer service in order to "make the sale" is unacceptable. I ended up getting tile and carpet from the Mart and Floor and Decor for MUCH LESS money for the same or better quality, and they both had a much better selection, which I picked up THE VERY NEXT DAY. I believe the horror stories now on Kelly's and wish I had just gone with my better judgment in the first place. Overpriced, poor selection, and bald faced smiling liars as sales reps. Shame on them, especially "Janine"!

At this point, I couldn't be more pleased. John worked hard to help me find something that was good quality, looked good and still stay in my budget. The installation crew showed up on time and worked extremely hard and efficiently to get the carpet installed. It has been a long time since I have seen workers work so diligently. They were courteous and professional.

When they came out only one spoke english which is fine. As long is the do a good job. They really just came out and did their job.

Kelly's Carpet did a great job on our flooring. They had a wide selection to choose from, the measurement process was smooth and the day we placed our order went well. We were incredibly impressed with our installer, Justin. He was punctual and professional. We appreciated how clean he kept the work area and was very respectful of our home. We noticed a few pieces of wood in our entrance that had spots we didn't care for. They were natural to the wood, but we didn't like them being in the main walkway. Since he had not permanently set the wood, he was happy to move them to a different spot. The tile in the master bath looks great. The grout is a perfect color too. We are very happy with the results.

The installation crew arrived on time and did an outstanding job. They carefully moved our heaviest furniture, took up the old carpet and pad, installed the new carpet, moved the heavy furniture back, and cleaned and vacuumed. They did it all in 4.5 hours one morning with no breaks. They were a very friendly and efficient crew. And the new SmartStrand carpeting is absolutely beautiful to look at and to walk on. After the crew left we got out our 9 year old Oreck to verify its ability to vacuum and discovered that we had a serious problem – our Oreck would hardly move across the carpet. Since the problem seemed to be related to the silk fibers in this new type of carpet, and since our Oreck was 9 years old, we decided to go shopping for a new vacuum cleaner designed to operate on SmartStrand carpeting. We took a large piece of the carpeting to Sears and the vacuum cleaner salesperson tried several different brands and models including Hoover, Dyson, Samsung, Sharp, and Kenmore, as well as upright and canister models. All of them did the same thing – they were impossible to very difficult to push across the carpet. The salesperson concluded that none of his cleaners were compatible with this carpet, and that the carpet would actually be damaged by some of them. So we went back to Kellys Carpet and talked to Rick and asked to see what kind of vacuum cleaners they used to clean their carpets. It turns out that they use an Oreck as he had originally told us, but it was an Oreck Magnesium. He showed it to us and demonstrated it on SmartStrand carpet. It worked just fine. It is a much newer Oreck model than our old one, and was specifically designed for these newer carpet fibers. We then went to the local Oreck store and found the same Oreck Magnesium model that Rick demonstrated for us. We brought our carpet sample into the store, and the store salesman demonstrated the Oreck’s ability to vacuum our sample. He told us the Magnesium was specifically designed to handle the silk fibers in these newer carpets. So we bought the Magnesium, brought it home and fired it up, and it does the job very nicely and gently. It works best on low speed. The moral of this story is that you should not assume your current household vacuum cleaner will operate properly on whatever carpet you are considering buying unless the carpet you are buying is the same type of carpet that you will be replacing. If you are not sure, then since the carpet salesperson can’t be expected to know which vacuum cleaners work with which carpeting types, before you buy: (1), Always ask the carpet salesperson what kind of vacuum cleaner the store uses on the carpet you are considering and have him/her demonstrate it, and/or (2) Always take a good sized sample of the target carpet home and test your vacuum cleaner on it, and/or (3) If you feel a need to replace your vacuum cleaner, always take a large sample of the carpet to the vacuum cleaner store and test it there. Regarding Karastan SmartStrand, there may be other vacuum cleaners in the marketplace in addition to the Oreck Magnesium that handle this carpeting nicely, but you need to test them before you buy the carpeting. ,

We spent many thousands of dollars at Kelly’s as part of our recent remodel. I highly recommend them. Their prices, selection, service and support are outstanding. They help with the little things and the big things. We love the products we purchased and all of the help they gave us during and after installation.

We were putting our house for sale and I needed to replace the carpet in one of the rooms in less than one week. As I found out, that is harder than is sounds. I first tired a few of the big box stores and they could not meet the installation time frame. I finally headed to Kelly's carpet. The sales person at Kelly's carpet was great and was able to find me a remnant that could be used to save money. We worked with the installation office to make sure we got the installation scheduled before our house went on the market - he called me the following day to confirm. Instillation team were great guys and went out of their way - they helped me move my desk back into the room after the carpet was installed. Overall, I was very impressed and will use them again in the future.

Excellent. Repeated from above - I bought new carpet from Kellys after checking with NFM and Smart choice carpet outlet. Smart Choice had very friendly and knowledgable staff but they just didnt have what i wanted for my home. I found an excellent product at Kellys at a reasonable price and went to NFM to see how the 2 compared - I was first surprised at how much more NFM wanted for just the carpet, and that didnt even include a pad or installation cost. Their salesman spoke extremely positive about my choice until I asked about their price matching and told him what I would b paying at Kellys. Then he changed his tune and was very aggressively trying 2 sell me a 15 year carpet (my choice from kellys is 25) at over twice the cost even after I repeatedly told him my budget and wanted to write me up on the spot within 5 minutes of showing me his version of "something better that Kellys didnt have" even going so far as to suggest I put money down to make sure they would have the carpet he wanted me to buy. That I wasnt seeing anything I liked and that the carpet alone was twice my budget wasnt important. I returned to Kellys after 2 weeks of playing with 20 some carpet samples I had accumulated from the 3 places hoping they would still have that selection in stock. I purchased my carpet from Rick Kavich. He was very knowledgeable and experienced and easy to work with, even lowered the carpet cost allowing me to have the bathroom done as well. He was very attentive and polite even after job was completed. They Installed new carpet and pad on landing and stairwell and basement living room. Removed old carpet and pad and installed their new pad and carpet I had on hand in basement bathroom. The installation crew were very clean and professional. The lead tech explained how they would have to round out the corners along the runners for best appearance down the stairs and was able to take care of several request I forgot to discuss with Rick prior to install. Overall an excellent job and very good experience and an outstanding product and will return to Kellys for future carpet requirements.
