Ms. [Member Name Removed]: I am not sure who you are...we did no work for you nor do I have any record of giving you a proposal. Ratings on Angie's List are very important to me and I would appreciate you removing a failing score when I have no Idea of who you are....thanks....Keith Carlson

Every time I sat on our toilet in our bathroom it would sink in to the floor a bit, this obviously had me concerned and I thought there might be water damage from the tub and toilet. When I decided to get this fixed I got several bids for the job. (about 7 or 8) Keith's bid came in a little higher than I wanted to pay but he was pretty much right in the middle of all the bids I got. When I contacted him for the bid he personally called me back right away and was very pleasant on the phone, we scheduled a time for him to come out to look at the bathroom and he arrived right on time. He was also the only contractor that brought out a plumber with him (Mike Tritz with Tritz Plumbing), which I thought was great. He was also the only one that while at my house introduced himself to my wife as well as all three of my kids, which absolutely impressed us! While Keith and Mike were at my house they did a very in depth inspection and let me know of a few different scenarios that they might come across in my old house. He also let me know that he wouldn't be the cheapest person out there to do the job but he would guarantee that the job got done right and wouldn't ask for a penny until my wife and I stood in the bathroom and absolutely LOVED it! This made me a little nervous because I was on a budget and after already having several bids both my wife and I really wanted to go with Keith to do the job because of the impression he gave... we thought he came off as a mix between a grandpa and Holmes on Homes from HGTV. Before he left he got my email address and told me he would send my an estimate in about a week, I received that estimate in two days, I was impressed by this as well because he didn't over promise anything but instead over delivered on set expectations! The bid was more than I was hoping it would be for my budget just like he alluded it would be, but it was also amazingly thorough, he had one main section that came up to about $8700 and another "contingency" that would be added to the estimate depending on what they found when they got the floor up, that part was for $1900-$2400. We decided to go with Keith and pay the extra money because we knew Keith would be doing quality work and we just had a good feeling about him. When I let him know we would be going with him he was very flexible with the scheduling of the project and he had my wife and I go out to Dal Tile to approve the tile he would be using, which was nice because it made us feel "involved" and we were impressed that he wasn't just going to go to a big box store to get generic sub par tile to do the work. When the work started Keith arrived at my house and introduced us to Ryan who would be doing the majority of the work. Ryan was very low key and a dilegent worker who kept us informed of the work and progress everyday. My wife and I were so impressed with both Ryan and the boys from Tritz plumbing, they were so great and never got annoyed with my kids (6&8 years old) who wanted to watch the whole time, in fact they even let them help at time! My kids are still talking about it. We did run into a few hiccups when they tore out the floor and found an existing sub par plumbing job and a lack of floor supports on one whole side of the bathroom (the reason my toilet sank into the floor when I sat on it) because of the extra work that needed to be done I again became concerned with the cost but Keith reassured me that he would be fair. The work was complete on time even with having a major snow storm happen right in the middle of the job. And I can't tell you how amazed my wife and I are with the work. My bathroom feels like a luxury spa and we have the piece of mind that the work was done right. I received my invoice for the project the day after it was completed and I was again nervous opening it because of the extra work I knew they had to do, but my fears were unwarranted as the final price was right inline with what he had originally quoted me. Amazing job all the way around, will definitely use again and refer all of my family and friends. Its nice to know there are still people out there that have integrity and take pride in what they do. Thank you Keith, Ryan, and Tritz Plumbing!

Keith was easy to work with and responded to questions/e-mails promptly. His tile installer did an excellent job. The plumbers and granite people also did good work. I would recommend Keith to others.

The main reason I rehired him when it was time to do our baths was because of his professionalism both in his estimates and his response time. He does what he says he is going to do, on time, does it well and stands behind his work. He is very knowledgeable when it comes to installation of heated floors and the different types of tile and underlayment so that the end product is rock solid and done with an amazing attention to detail. The best part is that his workers are clean, respectable, well mannered and trustworthy. His prices may be a smidge higher than the other estimates but still within reason given the high caliber of service.
Description of Work: Keith just completed his third bath remodel at our house. Our master bath was his first project done about 4 years ago. He just finished our basement bath which was converted from a two piece to a three piece bath, and our guest bath which was gutted and completely redone with a new shower and glass tile wall.

Keith acted as general contractor for the complete remodel (except painting) of our main bath in our 88 year old bungalow in old mid-town Omaha. They had to rework the old plaster walls - some spots had to be removed, others patched and prepared for tile. They removed the old floor down to the basement rafters and put in a new floor to prepar for floor tile. His plumber (Tritz Plumbing) reworked the plumbing and installed a whirlpool tub, new vanity and sink and new toilet. His electrician (RC Electrical Contractors) reworked the electrical, moving an outlet, installing a light fixture and a fan/heat lamp. It also required electrical wiring back to the panel for the new tub. He framed the tub, created a new door for my slightly altered linen closet. It was important to me to keep the and quot;feeland quot; of the original bathroom within the updates, and he worked hard to retain the woodwork and create the access door and linen closet door that resembled the original. They put a simple mosaic tile on the floor - something characteristic of these old houses - and it turned out beautiful. What really impressed me was the precision of the level at the doorways - no more little rise into the bathroom to trip over! And the wall tile turned out fabulous. Everyone was always courteous, even fun to deal with. They all took in stride those frustrations and issues you always run into with old houses. And they came up with solutions that left the project looking tailored and professional. I feel as if I have a brand-spanking new bathroom and I couldn't be happier! I can't wait until I can call them back for other projects I have planned!
