First of all, they called and showed up when they said they would. I've dealt with other contractors who did not, so this is important to me. Andrew actually arrived a few minutes early, wearing a mask (important since this was around the first of May). He inspected the pipes, went over what needed to be done, and emailed me the estimate about two hours later. And they didn't charge me a fee to come give me an estimate. I asked for an additional quote for installing the utility sink and all that went with it and promptly received a quote for that also. On work day, they arrived when expected and immediately got to work. Andrew and I went over the installation of the utility sink and he offered a better solution for the same price. The work went quickly, the crew was courteous, and the clean up afterwards was fantastic. As always happens with any project of any size, they encountered a few problems created by the prior installers. Andrew went over the problems and explained what needed to be done. I felt comfortable that the work needed to be done and was not just some random add-on to the price. They completed the work on the sewer main on Friday afternoon and we scheduled a time for them to come back and finish the sink installation, with the possibility they might be able to get back earlier, which they did. The final bill was higher than the original estimate, but I was satisfied that I was not being overcharged for the additional work. I would like to mention a couple of other things that impressed me. The first is that Andrew stopped by several times during the day to make sure the work was going well and to see if his crew needed anything. He also brought them lunch so they wouldn't have to go off-site, delaying getting my bathrooms operational again. I had another contractor whose crew was here for five days. I saw the supervisor once. The other is that I had a question a couple of days after the job was completed. I emailed Andrew and he promptly called me back, even though an email would have been fine. Bodenheimer did a good job for me at what I thought was a good price.

They did just a fine job. They come out when they said they will do, and they are pretty dependable. They did the job on time, and was pretty reasonable. They get high markings. You can call them when you have a problem, and they come take care of it.

I've never gotten over it. The guy did seven welds on a copper pipe, when there should of been one. He kept welding and welding, and scotched the boards on my floor. When you're in my basement and look up, the wood is gorgeous. The wood is replaced with all copper, it's very industrial looking and kind of neat. I like it. I took down all the extended ceilings. I needed and outside faucet.  It was broken, and leaking, so it was shut off. I asked the guy to replace it. Instead of replacing just a piece of pipe, there was seven welds in it. He couldn't get it to stop leaking, so he finally took it out and he left it with me. I have it till this day. I can't believe that someone would put that many welds in a short piece of pipe. It's ridiculous. That's not all they did. They put in a thermostat. I have a gas fire hot water boiler that they put in.They put in additional pieces of lumen. When they did that, it changed our room temperature control. It's a mechanical device that closes off the hot water to the room if it does not need more heat. They put that in wrong, and they killed to thermostats, and they still didn't get it right. I had to get another plumber to fix that. The heater that they sold me is not the most efficient heater I could have gotten at the time. I just give them a solid "F" for screwing up multiple times on my property, like they weren't given a chance. They came in and said that they fixed it, and they didn't. It was just a mistake upon mistake. I spent thousands of dollars with them. They put in a furnace, plus the service calls, which was their fault, and then I had to pay for them. Putting the outside faucet in was a fiasco. They weren't timely. I just felt like I was taken advantage of because I was a single woman, and I was going through a really bad time. They just didn't sit down and talk with me when I brought the heater and furnace.

The plumbers were very intelligent, knowledgeable, respectful, and enjoyable to talk to. They left the place cleaner than they found it and we've had zero trouble with anything.

Bodenheimer has done other work for us. In this case it was an emergency as we wanted to get our water turned back on asap. They were very quick and the plumber had to go to a remote and difficult place in our crawl space to do the work. I am very please with what they did, how quickly they did it and the price was fair.

They've worked on everything from boilers to general plumbing for 20 years. It's been a while since I've had to call them. They are not the cheapest but I think it's worth it.

Ed, who provided the estimate, was very prompt and professional. . However, I had to call and email Bodenheimer several times before they sent out an estimate; it took almost 2 weeks.
Still, we chose Bodenheimer after weighing all of our proposals. We original set a date in January, but I had to cancel because of some changes to my work schedule. Dave, who schedules the appointments, told me to call back when we could reschedule.
After some back and forth, we set a date. The week prior to the job, I called Dave to set inquire about changing the project plans. I wanted to install a sink in the garage, and wanted to see if they could adjust for that. I never heard back from Dave, so the sink was never installed.
On the day of the project, the workers were prompt and professional. They were minimally invasive and completed the project in one (1) day.
As far as the overall project, I was very happy with the end result, but there were several issues I found that I take partial blame for. First, the some of the polybutylene was left in the ceiling. While it was disconnected and drained as best as possible, the workers stated they couldn't pull it out without taking out more of the ceiling. I should have just had them take it all out (to avoid any mold issues, or leak), but I wasn't sure if we were going to demo the ceiling or just sheet rock over afterwards. The second issue I had was with how the new pipes were connected to the sinks and toilets. In stead of using the existing connections, the worked drilled new holes through the floor and cabinets. Again, I'm stuck with water hooks up in my wall and under cabinets that aren't connected to anything and need to be sealed.
Their methods were probably the  most cost effective and less invasive way to complete the project, but now I'm left with more stuff to figure out. I should have asked better questions, but I also feel Bodenheimer should have explained how they were going to run pipes to the fixtures and explained any complications that could have emerged (not being able to get all of the poly pipes out of the ceiling) during the project.
Overall, I'm happy with how the project turned out. Their price was excellent, they were on-time and professional when I interacted with them face-to-face. However, their sustained lack of response to my phone calls, combined with my slight disappointment with the final installation (I take partial blame, which is why I gave them a B and not a C), I just can't give them an A overall.

Our water heater was not heating properly.  Came out soon after I called and checked it.  We needed a new one and it was installed the next day.  Terry was wonderful and professional.

Bodenheimer is a real and licensed plumbing company that truly earns their great reputation around Winston Salem NC. They know their stuff and do very quality work. I am very particular and they lived up to my high standards. They came out when they said they would and were very professional. They are not the cheapest plumbers but their prices are fair and they will get the work done correctly the first time. They are our new plumbers.
