First, let me say I didn't know anything about The Sod Man until I listed my project on HomAdvisor. I am just a happy customer who believes that all contractors can learn something from The Sod Man.He is the best.He and his team were very professional.They are very fast and efficient.I think their pricing is unbeatable.I got 5 quotes for my 4000 sqft sod project and his quote was at least $1300 lower than the next lowest quote I got.That is a lot.I was a little skeptical when I got that quote so I relied on some of the reviews here and took a leap of faith by awarding them my project.I am still blown away by how well the executed the project .It has been about 6 weeks since the project and my grass is coming up nicely.If you are not using these guys then you may be missing out.

Murphy IS the Sod Man -- We hired them to install 4k square feet of sod in the backyard. He, Justin, and the team were polite, responsive, professional, hard working and turf-knowledgeable. I received identical cost estimates from multiple companies. Only The Sod Man included a post-install watering service where they set-up multiple hoses/sprinklers on a timer (all THEIR equipment!) to ensure proper post-install irrigation for ~ 6 weeks. In addition, this service saves home owners from purchasing these items for short term use. They over-delivered on the agreed-upon scope (Justin helped me build a berm to aid with water drainage). Murphy is exceptionally service-oriented and quick to respond to texts or phone calls -- before, during, and after the job. You cannot go wrong with The Sod Man.

Very positive experience. I shopped around a number of landscapers for quotes for residing my front yard. The Sod Man's quote was the lowest. Normally I try to go for the middle quote of a range, but the Sod Man's feedback was overall very positive, to I went with them. After they measured the yard, the official quote was close to the ballpark quoted over the phone. On the day, the crew showed up early, stripped off the old grass, tilled and graded the surface and layed the new sod. They cleaned up and installed a temporary automated sprinkler system to ensure the new lawn got sufficient water. This will stay in place for ~3 weeks. They are scheduled to return to check everything and roll the new sod to ensure it is bedded in and level. Very pleased with the communication and the job.

We are very pleased with the Fescue sod that Murphy (The Sod Man) and his team installed for us. Throughout the project they did everything they said they would do in our initial consultation including conditioning the soil, grading, fertilizing, and installing the sod. They even did some extra work installing some plants for us. Our yard looks amazing. What a transformation! We would recommend The Sod Man to anyone who needs sod or landscape services.
