Neli Virtual Appliance Repair

It was an excellent experience! My old Kenmore fridge (probably from the 90s) quit cooling/defrosting. After looking to replace it and finding thanks to the pandemic refrigerators are on backorder for months, I called 3 appliance repair companies who didn't call me back. I found Neli and was able to set up an appointment at a time I picked.. An incredibly patient tech (Chris C.) came chat on at the appointed time. I waited about 5 mins as he was wrapping up another call. I walked me through the diagnosis using a virtual support app on my phone. He was able to help me with taking things apart, helped me use our multimeter, and diagnosed the problem. I can do this repair myself. He gave me the exact part numbers and told me what I need to do. All for $35 for an hour on a Sunday. I can't believe how great this was. I thought I had to replace my refrigerator, but for $35 + $111 in parts (I could have gone cheaper but chose OEM) my refrigerator will return to health. Their website lists the tools you will need for a diagnosis/repair, make sure you have them ready. For refrigerators, you need a screwdriver (flat & phillips), a socket set, a multimeter, and theoretically a pair of pliers but I didn't use them. Also make sure your phone is charged (lesson learned).

Harmond helped me over video link to test the components in my broken refrigerator. The testing confirmed that it was the compressor that had failed. I purchased a new refrigerator because I decided it was not worth the cost to replace the compressor.

I didn't use him. I wanted someone to come to the house and fix it, but he informed me he would tell me how to fix it over the phone. I'm not stupid but I didn't want to do that.

Couldn’t find the leak at first after 25 minutes of looking. I signed off and did a complete washing cycle on my own to find where the leak was. As soon as I found it I got back on and Harmond figures out the problem and repair. We decided to replace the washer as it is rather old, but it was a great experience

On time, smooth. First time using - one email re tool preparation went into spam. Their text message system responded to my text about what tools I needed since I didn't check spam folrder. Harmond was our technician. The process was very smooth, video pointing to things and explanation worked well. Unfortunately we got the bad news the compressor is likely the bad part and it would cost more than a brand new freezer. Super helpful and it was great that we didn't pay a service call that cost a lot more to find this out.

I thought getting ready for the virtual chat was a little difficult, but once everything was set up it was relatively easy and he was able to diagnose the problem. It was very cheap ($30).
