Tommy uses subcontractors that he has worked with on multiple projects, therefore we did not have any concerns when Tommy asked if he could leave a lockbox on our door. We never had any concerns with the integrity of his team. Tommy was always eager to work with any ideas we had and to offer suggestions to help us out. We wanted to use our own painter for the project and Tommy was eager to meet him. We wanted to reuse the toilet and a door in the future master bathroom and Tommy was happy to reuse these items. Also, we chose to buy our bathroom fixtures online because it was cheaper and Tommy was happy to have his plumber just install those items for us. One of my primary reasons of going with Tommy was that I had interviewed multiple contractors who refused to get the proper permitting for my project. Tommy did not hesitate to comply. He even suggested that I have the electrician hard-wire in smoke detectors while he was here ? at no additional charge. Likewise, he suggested that when the garbage dumpster was here to take advantage of it and dispose of any large items that I needed to and that when his drywall subs were here to point out any places that needed patching throughout the house. Tommy suggested an even payment plan ? not just half up front and half at the end. He even suggested a retainer be held until all the punchlist items were complete. The majority of his team always seemed to be willing to go the extra mile. During demolition, an item on a shelf in an adjoining room fell and broke so his demo subs actually went and took down all the breakable items in the other rooms. Also during demolition, a piece of wood accidentally fell in the toilet hole before it was capped off. We had plumbing problems and Tommy?s plumber came out the next day to figure it out and eventually get the wood out. Our project took a little bit longer than expected since it was around the holidays. It also cost more than we originally expected since we did not define high price items like granite counters, semi-frameless shower door and the tub surround. The only surprise really was the flue work-around. We had a furnace flue pass through the future bathroom and we had to back it up into the wall by cutting into the floor joist and reinforcing the joist from the room below. Overall, we had a great experience with Fusion. I recommend that you check the progress of the project and the quality of the work for yourself each day. If any concerns come up during the project, it is important that you address them with Tommy immediately, and he will work with you to resolve your issues. Also, do your best to plan for everything ahead of time. There were times when some of our decisions hadn?t been made far enough in advance, and then we had to waiting for the item to be custom made or shipped.
