From the first call to have Joe at Cary Granite come out and measure our master bath for granite to the installation I would give the experience an A+. Joe is very professional. He has a wonderful selection of granite to choose from. His measurements were spot on and the installation crew did a wonderful job of installing it. Honestly if you need granite, don't think about going anywhere else. This is the place. Cary Granite is one of the best companies we've had the pleasure of working with on our bathroom remodel. EXCELLENT to do business with!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Jimmy D was terrific in showing us various granites and price points. Unfortunately we couldn't get the one piece without a seam, but it came out terrific. The guys installing were very professional, curious, and worked around other contractors in the house. The seam came out amazing and located out of major counter top traffic. I would definitely use them again. They had a cancellation and got us done in no time at all.

From initial contact with Jimmy at their showroom and his visit to measure our countertops, to Luis' team granite and sink install, through Fred's team's final plumbing connections, everything went about as smoothly as I could ever image. We had shopped Home Depot, but when I could not get in contact with anyone about our project for 3 days, we shopped around. So glad we did. We got better granite and same services, including plumbing, done excellently for $1100 less. Cannot overstate that Cary Granite is a wonderful place to buy granite counter-tops at very good prices.
Description of Work: Cut and installed kitchen and 3 vanity granite countertops, all with under-mount sinks, and coordinated plumbing. Cary Granite (Jimmy) helped us choose granite and related options, then scheduled countertop with sink install and related plumbing (using Always Plumbing). Luis and team arrived when scheduled, tore out old countertops and sinks, and installed new granite countertops with under-mount sinks, in about 3 hours. They notified the plumbers, who arrived shortly, and connected new faucets in 4 vanities, plus original faucet and disposer in kitchen, in about 2 hours.

We recently remodeled a kitchen that was a complete tear-out, including the floor. I first heard about Cary Granite on Angie's List and worked with them to install a granite top for a bathroom remodel several months ago. I was very happy with the previous work, so I decided to give Cary Granite a call for the kitchen and I'm so glad I did. Let's face it, there are a great number of installers around the Triangle and homeowners have many options, which begs the question - why Cary Granite? 1. Customer service - I was dealing with an extremely tight timeline with multiple components on a decent size kitchen remodel. Joe was always available to help answer questions, give advice and ensure we could meet the expected timeframe for the install. He went above and beyond to help me get the specific material I wanted and took pictures of the template on the material so there were no surprises. Joe shows up when he say he will, the installers come exactly when they are supposed to and I can't say enough about that in my time working through this remodel. 2. Attention to Detail - The fabrication process and the resulting install were phenomenal. Lewis and his team are true craftsmen at what they do. The seams were color matched and done very well and the edges were flawless which I imagine is difficult with such an imperfect material as granite is. The measurements were spot on and I couldn't ask for more in this category. 3. Professionalism - Everyone I worked with (Jill, Joe, Lewis and crew) made it their mission to ensure the customer is informed and happy. Cary Granite knows what they are doing, so ask the questions, listen to their advice and most importantly, trust that this company will deliver. In closing, there are many choices to go with for granite installers in this area. If you want the best, go with Cary Granite.

The salesman was personable and I enjoyed visiting the site to see all of the samples. The workers were professional and neat. They set up a saw to sand the granite in my front yard. Now the center of my granite vanity has a dull spot because of the sanding. I called the salesman about my concern and he applied a sealer to it but it was still dull. They offered to give me my money money back, get a discount on the piece or they could replace it. I chose the replacement option, but the salesman still can't get it scheduled on his calendar.

When I first called Joe, he told me that we should set up an appointment at his showroom to look at the granite options, choose our slab, etc. So we set up an appointment. My wife and I arrived as scheduled. Joe was not there. I called his cell; he did not answer. I texted him; he did not reply. So his wife called him a minute later (she works there, too, and had been engaged with another customer). THAT call he answered. She handed me her phone, and Joe told me he had another appointment, which was then followed by several excuses: " I was in the car driving when we set the appointment; I didn't enter it into my calendar; I didn't have your phone number." He said he'd be there in 20-30 minutes. In the meantime, his wife steered us to their granite slabs, noted our choice, took a copy of our plans and dimensions, and told me Joe would be in touch. As my wife and I were backing out to leave, I noticed a car drive in. I suspected it was Joe. So I stopped and met him in the parking lot. I brought him up to speed on our selection, etc. and asked him for a general price range since this was my first granite purchase and I had no idea - at all - what the cost might be. He refused, nicely, to provide me with any guidance, telling me he would email me a proposal by end of day. He didn't (it would be late morning the next day - not awful). So I did what any other computer-owning person would do. I hit the internet. Not only did I find general price information, I found a provider who had a price tag by the square foot attached to each slab. Bottom line: 1) although Joe gave me a polite apology for missing our appointment, I never got the feeling he thought it was a big deal; his apology felt hollow. And the fact that he skipped our appointment because he had another told me that my business was, at the least, less important than his other business appointment. He treated my time as if it was less important than his. Not cool. 2) Why the secretive approach regarding price? I wasn't asking for a quote to hold him to; I wanted a general idea. So I ended up using another provider where the price was no mystery.
Description of Work: The general contractor for our screened porch project referred us to Joe at Cary Granite. Our plans call for the fireplace surround and grill backsplash to be fabricated in granite.

Response from CARY GRANITE
Good morning [Member Name Removed], I’m sorry to hear you continue to harbor ill feelings. Quite honestly, I don’t understand what all the fuss is about. You had an appointment to come to our shop and select granite. This happened; it just didn’t happen with me. Jill was in the shop and assisted you with your selections. You identified materials you were interested in, and you left with samples. How exactly was your time wasted? As policy, we don’t quote jobs on the spot. We like to be thorough and evaluate all of the information for a project. All jobs and prices are not the same. If a job is easier and uses materials more efficiently, I will price it less than a more complicated or less efficient project. We don’t operate under the assumption that all jobs are created and priced equally. We strive to give the best price we can for each project. I did send you a quote later the same day. How can a “quote turn-around time” of a few hours be criticized as “wasting your time”? I’m sorry you don’t care for this pricing method. In any case, I don’t believe we wasted your time or that of any of our other customers. You came to the shop, you were assisted, and you received a quote later the same day. Apparently your feelings were hurt because you expected to meet with me, but I could not personally be there to assist you due to an operational issue. For this I have already apologized several times. I believe it's time to move on.

I first spoke with Cary Granite about coming out to look at my kitchen because we wanted to remove laminate and install granite countertops. We set up a date to measure for about a week and a half later which was fine with me because of my work schedule. I called the owner and let him know I had a builders floor plan that showed the dimensions of the kitchen counters and he might not have to come if he wanted to give us a estimate by them. (two other fabricators said they could use them for estimation without any problem). The owner said he still would like to come out and see because drawings sometimes didn't show things that he might encounter on install which I understood and he came out the day that was already arranged. No quote was given and we searched elsewhere for estimates.

{Member Name Removed], Allow me to wish you and your family a Happy Easter on this Easter morning. I’m disappointed to read your comments and the apparent breakdown in communications. At Cary Granite, we strive to meet or exceed our customer’s expectations. We clearly did not meet your expectations and for this I apologize. As a recap, your job is not that complicated, it’s just a very unusual layout and the diagram you initially sent me was insufficient to generate an accurate estimate. So, rather than generate an inaccurate estimate, I took the time to drive to your house (40 miles away) and meet with your wife to review the project. This was on a Friday afternoon exactly two weeks ago. I started working on your quote the following Monday. I had a few more questions, which I needed to discuss with you before finalizing the quote. I called, you did not answer, but I did not leave a message. I figured I’d call back later that day, but I apparently did not. Your folder ended up in the “quote in progress file”. I was out of town last week on vacation with my family during the spring break. Your project would have been on the top of the list of things to address tomorrow, but it doesn’t look like that [Member Name Removed] be necessary. I find it hard to believe that rather than checking with me to see if there was a problem or did I require any further information, you assumed the worse and went online to write an “angry guy letter” with hurtful intent. Once again, I’m sorry if there was a breakdown in communication on my part and our inability to meet your expectations. I wish you luck on your project. Best regards, Joe

Straightforward, smooth sailing. We went to the warehouse to look at the quartz options in person (and went home with a sample) and left measurements. Joe followed up quickly with an e-mail estimate -- way faster and cheaper than our other estimate. Once we decided to move forward, the process took only two weeks. Joe came in person to measure countertops, and his team removed the old tops and installed the new ones without a hitch, very professional and efficient. Easy to get in contact with via phone or e-mail.

I have used Cary Granite on 5 occasions for countertops for my home, my daughters home and a number of investment properties and they are the best. You can get most of the granite patterns from any number of companies so people think that what is the difference who you buy from. The key to having your project look spectacular is the fabrication (how the material is laid out and cut) and the installation. Get either one of these wrong and the job looks like s__t. Well Cary Granite is the epitome of perfection when it comes to fabrication and installation. They work with on the right product to use. They are patient. The older kitchen cabinest on one of my investment properties were really un-level. The installer did an incredible job of getting the granite tops on level with all the seams lined up and invisible. I was majorly impressed. Highly recommend them.

They were excellent. We found them on Angie?s List. They responded anytime we contacted them, they responded right away. We went to their showroom and they showed us everything and they were very complete with what they told us and the we wanted the work done by Thanksgiving and we went there I guess end of October or beginning of November and they got the work done and it was beautiful. Two men came out here and they were very professional and did a really good job. They were not as expensive as other places we checked. I will definitely use them in the future.

Joe Murphy really wants his clients to be happy. It's all in the details, and Joe really pleased us by encouraging us to be a part of how the granite was to be cut and where it was to be installed. We have 8 counter tops, so knowing where they were going to be placed was important to us .He makes every step of the process personal. Matching the pieces so the image in the stone would flow from counter to counter and even in the back splash was a real plus for us. We called for an appointment, visited the Cary Granite warehouse chose our granite, Joe came out to the house and measured, visited again to participate in the design of the cuts, and then Joe's crew installed it. Beautiful work!
Description of Work: Joe Murphy, owner of Cary Granite, presented a myriad of granite slabs to choose from, a really great selection in his warehouse! We received excellent cuts for our kitchen and bathroom. All of them fit beautifully in our remodeled kitchen and bathroom. His crew is polite and professional and clean.

I contacted Joe to fabricate and install a marble single sink vanity. He was responsive, and we scheduled time to walk through his facility to look at the available pieces in stock. Joe provided a reasonable up front estimate using my dimensions without much fuss. I tried to work with 2 other (highly rated service providers), but getting a price out of them was like pulling teeth. The marble Joe offered was very high quality and I am happy with my choice of marble and provider. In addition, Joe's install crew (Lewis and Jose) came out on a Saturday morning to do the install and were both friendly and professional. Overall a good experience and I plan to use Joe again when I do the kitchen!

Cary Granite provided very quick service. We recently had a flood and had to have major work done to the kitchen. We are getting close to finishing the rebuild and needed someone to re-install the granite counter tops. Cary Granite came out and provided an estimate the day we called them. The work itself was scheduled very quickly and the three installers arrived promptly as promised. I will happily recommend them to my friends and use them the next time we next work completed.

Jill was very helpful once we entered the showroom. We told her we liked a slab at another warehouse so we went back, put it on hold and Joe went out to look at it the next day. He agreed that the slab we picked was high quality so he purchased it and arranged a time to come and measure our counters. Everything went according to plan and a week later they were ready to install. Louis and the install team were very thorough did a wonderful job installing the counters. Joe stopped by during the install and realized we didn't need a strip to run behind our slide in range. He updated the invoice that day and it turned out to be less than we were originally quoted! We are very happy with our counters and would definitely recommend Cary Granite!

An easy process from start to finish! Their showroom was best we visited (out of 3 in the area), slabs were nicely presented and Jill was extremely helpful in our evaluation process. Joe was very responsive in delivering a quote, making revisions, and coming out to do a template. We wanted to get new countertops in soon, and Joe and team were able to fit us into their schedule quickly. The installation crew arrived right on time, they were very careful while working in our house, and were extremely professional. They took the time to make sure that the countertops were perfect. We could haven't been more pleased with our experience with Cary Granite! We went with them because they are the highest rated on Angie's List and they had the slab we wanted at a lower price than other companies in the area. I would highly recommend Cary Granite!

We had Quartzite installed. This vendor was not as experienced with this material as we had thought. Some of the joints and the cutouts exhibited chipping. Also, the initial estimate was for less, but, because of variations in our counter depths, we ended up paying > $500 more for the job. This was an oversight in the vendors estimate. We had already gone through the process of selecting the counter material (a tedious process for us) and had no other choice but to pay the additional money in order to keep the job on schedule.

Thank you for taking the time to give us some feedback. Your review was not what I was hoping Santa would bring me for Christmas, but truth be known, I have received a piece of coal a couple of times. In any case, I’m very disappointed to hear you are not happy with your experience with us. We strive to make sure that all of our customers are happy with our products and services. This is the first that I have heard of your displeasure. I’m unaware of any quality issues with your project and if there are any, we’re happy to address and rectify them. As far as a pricing discrepancy goes, the original quote was based on your diagram, which did not accurately reflect the entire scope of the work. The material you selected from a local distributor was very expensive and delicate. Exotic materials such as your selection can be beautiful, but often challenging to work with. Our ability to work with these exotic materials is second to none, and I’m still unaware of any quality issues associated with our workmanship on your project. I’m happy to address any concerns you may have. Once we were given access to your job-site and took our own accurate measurements, we updated your quote to reflect the actual scope of work. The updated quote also addressed an error that Jimmy had on his original worksheet. Jimmy explained the error and supplied you with an updated quote prior to any work taking place. You then approved the updated quote and we fabricated and installed your counter-tops. When I notified Jimmy of your review, he was surprised and thought that we were in good standing with you. Please let Jimmy or me know if there’s anything we can do to address your concerns. Best regards and Happy Holidays, Joe

My husband and I just complete a total kitchen renovation. We visited 5 granite fabricators and then I found the review of Cary Granite on Angie's list. When I visited Cary Granite they had the exact granite that I wanted installed, none of the other fabricators had it. I left the dimensions of the Kitchen so that a quote could be forwarded to me via email. I received the quote the very next day. The pricing was significantly lower then all of the other quotes that I received. The quote also was detailed as to what the expenses would be, for example, cut out for cooktop, and cutout for sink, expense for sink if purchase through Cary Granite. So, my husband and I went over on a Saturday and met with Jimmy. Jimmy was a real pleasure to work with. It took us about two months to finish up our plans for the new kitchen and Jimmy kept in touch to find out where we were in the kitchen renovation process. Counter tops have been installed and they are absolutely beautiful; I absolutely love them. The installation men were fantastic and they did a beautiful job. We have a very large kitchen and it took them 7 hours to install the granite. I can find no fault in the installation at all! The job was done meticulously. The installation men even took out the garbage before leaving. I am so very pleased with our decision to work with Cary Granite and would work with the again!

First, the selection of granite at "standard " pricing was extensive. Salesperson was a geologist, very cordial, attentive, and professional. All work was done on schedule, as described, and with excellent craftsmanship. You would think this job was much more expensive than it was. I highly recommend this company and will use them for our future home purchase.

It was a great experience. Jimmy was friendly and very responsive throughout the process whether it be my email, phone, or in-person. There was a ton of granite at the yard but Jimmy was helpful with his advice and didn't try to up-sell us to a more expensive level of granite. The install crew was easy to work with and they did a great job. It was completed rather quickly and the quality looks excellent..

The day before the job was scheduled, Jimmy called to confirm everything. The crew was scheduled to come out between 7:30am and 8, didn't make it till 9am (due to a flat tire). They got right to work taking out the old counter. The hole had to be cut for the soap dispenser, but the new 60/40 sink and our faucet fit fine. In one place they had to cut a new piece of tile (which we had extra) because of the difference between the old backsplash and the new. They did a fine job there too! They caulked around everything nicely. The job was finished around 12:30 in time for the plumber, which was scheduled at 1pm to put in the sink strainers, and connect all pipes. This is an extra $225.00, unless you chose to do it yourself. As you know, or may not know...your sinks don't come with strainers!
Description of Work: Jimmy Dean came out first to give us our estimate. After deciding to go with them, we went out to their place of business to pick out the granite we wanted. We set up the date to get the job done, which was 2 wks. out. In between time Jimmy came out to our house again to make the templates for placement on the granite. Than my husband stopped by the shop for placement of those templates on the granite pieces themselves (how we would like it to look),because this particular granite had a lot of design to it.

We made a few changes (eliminating bar overhang and decided to tear out ourselves) when he came to make the template, but Jimmy was fine with that. I also visited the showroom after getting measurements to look at slabs. Jimmy found a few scraps for me to take home and try out. I am in love with the sink that was provided...it puts my old one to shame! The installers were fast. They got there during lunch time then were gone before I got home around 4. I love my new kitchen!
