CARY GRANITE

Dealing with Mr. Murphy and his employees was a very pleasant experience. They did exactly what they said they would do and when they said they would do it. All of our questions were answered and they were very helpful in our decision making process. Telephone calls and/or emails were handled promptly. We asked him to come back to check out a minor scratch on the granite. This too was handled promptly and to our satisfaction. Would definitely recommend Cary Granite for the installation of granite counter tops.

Chose Cary Granite because of the many good reviews on Angie's list, Joe's responsiveness when I contacted him, his patience with my many questions, and his competitive price. I already knew what color granite I wanted so the process was pretty simple. Received the estimate, Joe came and did the template, and the countertops were installed a month later (granite was ready a week after the templating but we had scheduling issues on both sides). The only issue I had was one of the backsplash pieces was a bit too short. Joe's team recut a new piece and replaced it and it's perfect now. He also gave me a beautiful lazy susan crafted from the sink cutout as an extra. Joe and his team were a pleasure to work with, very professional, cleaned up after their work, and are very good at what they do. My kitchen is gorgeous now. I highly recommend them and would use Cary Granite again.

It gives it a whole new look and it looks beautiful. The price was great. He handpicks all his granite so he only had beautiful pieces to choose from. I picked it out and it was installed. The whole process only took a week. I'm going to call them back for my bathroom when I save up the money.

Called Cary Granite because of the good reviews on Angie's list. Received an estimate based on the level of granite I wanted to stay within. Went to look at slabs and picked out what I wanted. Kept Joe in the loop as to how the cabinet installation was going and when he could template. Joe came out and did the template. Installation was 1 week later.

Joe did an excellent job! He wasn?t the lowest bidder (or highest), but you could tell by his professional manner (and Angie?s list reviews) that he would do a quality job. He was on time, personable, and well qualified to perform the work. His installation team really cared, and the end result was outstanding. We had granite countertops installed to help sell our 10 year old house, but now we almost hate to move! I highly recommend Cary Granite.

Joe and his group were great to work with from start to finish. Joe came by within days of my contacting him and gave us an estimate. After we decided to go with Cary Granite, we went to his shop to pick out our granite. The installation was scheduled at our convenience and went smoothly. The plumber came that same day and installed the new sink and faucet. His work was also very good. I recommend Cary Granite very highly. Joe was very professional and very efficient. His final bill was less than his estimate which was nice and we also got a granite lazy susan as a surprise.

Joe was a pleasure to work with. All commitments and deadlines were met. The install went smoothly and quickly. There was one small section of counter top that needed re-leveling after the install but it was correctly quickly the next day. The selections of granite available were fine and the price was lower than the "deals" at Home Depot and Lowes. A nice touch was the matching lazy Susan Joe gave use at the end of the project. My wife is "thrilled" with the "fabulous" result. If momma aint happy, aint nobody happy! We are going to use Cary Granite again for a small project we will have in the near future.

Joe was great to deal with. Met me at the house and went over everything with me, and then met me at the showroom to see the slabs, discuss edge and sink options. Came again to do the template as scheduled and installation occurred within a week. Installation went off without a hitch. The installed counters are absolutely gorgeous, fit is perfect, and I couldn't be more pleased. All at a better price than other estimates.

We obtained quotations from three companies, two from Angie's List and one from a company we used eight years ago. Cary Granite came to our home to view the requirement. I provided a detailed sketch and photos to the three companies. Cary Granite provided the lowest quote. We visited their shop and the shop of the second lo bidder to make a preliminary granite choice. We also wanted to see their facilities to get a sense that they could do the work. We decided to use Cary Granite who still had the lowest price after we chose a specific granite. They came to our home on time to make the template and made it in a very short time. The installation was scheduled in one week. They were on site in the early part of the hour they committed to and completed the installation and cleaned up in five hours. The installers were very professional and competent. We are extremely pleased with the installation.

I got a quote from Lowes and it came to over $4,000. We were ready to go with Lowes but decided to get one more quote from Cary Granite. Their price was excellent (over $1,000 less) and we got a much higher quality granite to boot. Joe was great to work with, properly set expectations, and followed through with his promises. The installation was extremely quick and efficient and the end result is fantastic. With a choice, I'll never get countertops from anywhere else. A+ and highly recommended.

Joe Murphy of Cary Granite and his team did an excellent job. We called Joe to get new granite counter tops to be installed within one week. From the in-home measurements to the completion of the job, everything was done as promised and in good fashion. From start to finish, Joe Murphy was very attentive and made me feel that the completion of my project was a high priority for him. He and his crew were most professional. Joe called when he said he would, came by to give me an estimate and explain what needed to be done (a cupboard had to be removed and later replaced and he gave me the name of a carpenter who could do this for me) in a timely manner, and coordinated the work to meet my scheduling needs. The countertops are beautiful and I would recommend this company to my closest friends.

Cary Granite was prompt from the initial call to get an estimate to the final day of install. Joe Murphy is easy to work with, extremely professional and understands the customers perspective. His selection of stone was beautiful and he had exactly what I was looking for at a fair price. He stuck to the estimate and worked around my timeframe. The job had some challenges onsite, but he and his crew handled every aspect like pro's! I would feel extremly comfortable recommending Cary Granite to anyone interested in a problem-free experience!

I contacted Joe via Angies list. He promptly called me back and scheduled a time to come to my house to give me an estimate. He provided me with a detailed estimate promptly after taking measurements. When I elected to go with Cary Granite, Joe came back out to make the template for the countertops. He scheduled a time for me to meet him at his warehouse to pick out the granite pieces. He scheduled a time to replace all of the countertops and showed up on time. The countertops were replaced in less than 4 hours, and everything looks great.

Joe Murphy personally gave us an estimate early one weekday to accommodate our schedule. He was right on time, very friendly and gave lots of useful suggestions and things to think about. He emailed us an estimate with all of the costs shown in a spreadsheet. He came back several weeks later to take a template of our countertops once our new kitchen cabinets were installed. The next week the countertops were installed in a total of about 45 minutes. Once the countertops were installed, Joe took templates for the full granite backsplash. The next week the installers came on a Saturday (to accommodate our schedule again) to install the backsplash. The backsplash install took about 4 hours due to the need to cut holes for the electrical outlets. Everything came out looking great! Joe stopped by at the end to supervise, make sure we were satisfied and to apply an additional coat of granite sealant (one coat had already been applied at the warehouse). We were very satisfied!

The countertop installation went great. See Part 2 below. We received the quote, picked out our granite from his collection and had it installed with no problems at all. His installation team, although they don't speak English, seemed very experienced. I was glad I knew a bit of Spanish so I could relate how I wanted the faucet installed, yet that wasn't necessary as the owner was there to oversee the installation. He even figured out how to install my dream sink, which I love!! Only one very very minor issue, and that was that we never received our Angie's list lazy susan as promised, but that's OK as he took some $ off. Update October 2010. Well, we've been trying since our counter project in July 2009 to get Joe to cover our kitchen island with marble. We check in with him every few months, and he keeps putting us off, telling us he doesn't want to cut a piece of marble that size unless he gets a big order from someone else. That was fine at first, but now it has been 15 months and he is still not helping us! It's very confusing since he did such a great job with our counter tops. We have sent him many new customers over the past year. Update March 2011. Joe and Raul came through with our marble for the kitchen island and did a fabulous job. Back up to an "A" in our book!

After finding several contrators on Angie's List, I call Joe Murhpy at Cary Granite. He responded immediately to my message and we made an appointment for a consultation. Within a week or so, I had an estimate and was invited to come to their warehouse to look at the granite. the hardest part was deicding which one to select. Since it was summer and vacations were scheduled, it took several weeks to have the granite installed. However, we were not in a rush and were extremely pleased with the outcome. It looks beautiful! Joe even recommended someone to to some tile work on the back splash which also turned out well.

New countertop looks great. This was a relatively small job, but Joe and the team did a really nice job finishing the granite, cutting the granite for a new cooktop, and installing the countertop. End to end, painless and a perfect outcome!

The process was made very easy, he came to the house. Made some measurements, emailed me an estimate, we went to his facility to pick out the marble. They made the new counter tops, called us when they were ready, we picked the install date. They showed up on time installed the counters and sink and left the our home in excellent shape. I doubt it could have went any better!

Excellent job. Joe Murphy was very prompt and diligent in preparing the estimate. Stone selection was simple once we went to the shop to look at the selection of stone available. Joe was very service oriented and made an accomodation with us to use a small piece of scrap of a different stone in a small area. Installers showed up on time, were professional and proficient and completed the job in a timely fashion. Workmanship was excellent. Joe oversaw key aspects of the installation personally. There were some complications during the install with a telescoping downdraft and large cooktop but Joe and his crew made the necessary adjustments on site and the end result is beautiful. The countertop portion of the job was done in half a day from arrival on site, through demo, installation and finishing. The plumber/electrician recommended by Joe did a good job also and had great workmanship, but not quite as timely as Cary Granite.

We recently purchased a custom-built, 20-year-old home that still had white Formica counter tops. After getting several estimates, we contracted with Joe Murphy from Cary Granite to do our counter tops. This was a big project for us as we've owned the one and only home we have ever purchased for 30 years. With our move to our new home, we decided to upgrade with more modern counter tops and appliances. Joe returned all phone calls promptly (in fact he answers the phone himself) and set up appointments quickly. He had to redo our estimate several times because we decided to add a 4-inch back splash and we also changed our minds about the level of stone we liked, but he responded with new estimates within 24 hours of determining what we wanted. He came to the house, took measurements, gave us an estimate and set up appointments to view granite slabs at his shop. When we didn't find exactly what we wanted there, he made a phone call and set us up to go just a bit further down the road immediately after leaving his place to visit a company with a larger granite selection, where we found the perfect stone. Joe negotiated with that company to purchase the slabs we wanted, returned to our house to make a template, then installed the counter tops while we were on one of our semiannual pilgrimages to visit grandchildren in California. We provided him with access to a key, and when we returned, our beautiful new kitchen counter tops were finished and waiting. Joe has a geology degree and explained details about the quality and characteristics of the stone we were interested in. He also took time to answer all our questions about granite vs. other kinds of materials. He never took a cent from us before starting the job and waited a couple of days after finishing until it was convenient for both us us to get together so I could hand over a check. He also provided me with a can of sealer and instructions for its use, although the granite came factory sealed and he resealed it after installation. Joe came through with quality materials and workmanship at a very good price and in a timely manner. My kitchen was nice before, but looks spectacular now! For personable, reliable, quality service at a reasonable price you won't go wrong with Joe Murphy and Cary Granite.

They ran into a problem with the height of my cabinets(not their fault at all-I had recently had new floors put in), and they quickly brainstormed and fixed the problem. Joe's plumber arrived shortly thereafter and had my new sink in and working in no time. Other granite companies had told me I'd be without a sink for at least a day or so, but the entire job-new countertop and sink-was completely finished in about 4-5 hours. My countertop is beautiful-they did a great job!

I contacted Joe at Cary Granite to see about getting a quote for the work. I left him a voicemail and he got back to me within just a few hours. We scheduled a time for him to come look at the kitchen. He was there in a day or so and gave me a quote, which I accepted. Joe himself came to make the template and bring samples of granite. I went to his location later that week to actually pick out the slab I wanted. I don't remember exactly how long it was to get the installation but not more than a week or so. The installers were on time, professional and everything was great. I couldn't be happier with the quality of the work or the price. Joe was great to work with. Had some friends over and they loved the granite and asked who did the work. I referred Joe and Cary Granite and they had their kitchen done and had a great experience as well. I wouldn't hesitate to refer Joe and Cary Granite to anyone looking to have granite countertops done.
