Carolina Blind Crafters: Blinds, Shades, Shutters

Very professional and positive experience. Heather Maloney provided helpful guidance for color and style selections. I got quotes from two other companies and reviewed their materials. All three companies rated highly in Angie's List and the BBB. However, the quality of the products from this company were far superior and the prices were very competitive. The installer was extremely meticulous. Beautiful product! The shutters add a polished finish to my home. I was uncertain about the roller shade I selected for my master bedroom door, which opens to the screened-in porch. I was so pleased with the result that I am installing the same shades in my kitchen. I also ordered outdoor shades for the screened-in porch. I highly recommend Carolina Blind Crafters in general and Heather specifically! An added bonus is that their shutters and shades are products of the USA.

From start to finish Carolina Blind Crafters was sheer perfection. Initially, Heather came out to give us an estimate. She was very helpful in selecting the type of ultra modern blinds I was looking for in the main living areas of our house. Carolina Blind Crafters was the lower of two estimates by $1200. The blinds and shutters are amazing! Better than my husband and I ever expected! We installed through two major NC winter storms but Ben made that process easy and flawless ... I never had to contact him about scheduling, rescheduling, or finishing any portion of the install along the way. (Ben is very personable. The kind of "stranger" you don't mind having in your house.) Both of the CBC installers took their shoes off or covered their feet before entering our newly renovated house without being prompted to do so. The only thing better than the staff at CBC is the end product. After putting so much effort, time, and money into updating your home with high end finishes throughout the last thing you think about and/or think will make such a huge impact on your home is the window coverings. They were icing on a very expensive, well planned, arduous cake;)

They were prompt and they gave me options because I looked at shutters versus blinds, and maybe doing a mix of the two. They were very helpful in helping me choose a design for the house.

Heather was very professional, helpful, with a great sense of style and attention to detail. Had very nice suggestions for some of the areas i was unsure what to do with. I wanted to find a way to tastefully cover up the large clear window in our front door, and she recommended a wood color-matched shutter. I've had numerous people remark on how our front door shutters look like they are part of the door. The blinds are very nice quality faux wood, sturdy but lightweight. They are the only ones I found with secured routeless blinds (there is still a tiny route in the back, but it is covered when the blinds are completely closed). Heather suggested these right away to maximize darkness when I need to sleep during the day (after night shift). She really thought about the design of our house when making window treatment suggestions, to match the overall look. Ben measured everything and installed our blinds. He is excellent, very professional, efficient, and did not make any mess. The blinds fit perfectly and look great. When I noticed some discoloration of our pull cord handles, he returned right away to replace them. Overall, this company has been excellent to work with, and reasonably priced.

Heather arrived promptly to measure and provide the estimate--which was quite reasonable for 2.5" blinds. The blinds arrived earlier than they had estimated and Ben was actually able to install them the day that I moved in so that I didn't have to deal with temporary blinds. I asked Ben if he could hang some existing cornices and drape side panels for me. He didn't have time the day that he installed the blinds but said that he would come back and do this. He called a day or two later and arranged to come out on Saturday. He arrived on time, installed the cornices and side panels and also hung a large painting over my fireplace. I tipped him for this although he insisted that i didn't need to pay him. I would very much recommend this fine business!

Very professional and prompt. Very good experience with both the decorator/adviser and the installer. Work was done neatly, with no mess or fuss. The order wait time was just as they predicted, which was pretty fast and I got exactly what I asked for and wanted. I gave gave them a "B" on price only because I didn't compare their price with other companies and don't really know if it was good or not. Blinds and shutters are expensive if you want good quality. I may have received a better price somewhere else, but I doubt I'd get the service.

We found Carolina Blind Crafters on Angie's List ?. gave them a call and set up an appointment. We were pleasantly surprised at the price they quoted us. We were expecting much higher. They measured and then returned in a few weeks to install the shutters. They did a great job and went out of their way to make us satisfied and happy with our purchase and their craftsmanship. The shutters look great and I am sure they will add value to our house. I would highly recommend Ben and his crew if you are looking to purchase plantation shutters.

We had a great experience with Carolina Blind Crafters. Heather came out and gave us an estimate for the work we wanted done. Ben came out to get a precise measurement on the windows, and then about 4 or so weeks later two other guys came out and installed the blinds. The blinds are good quaility and the workmanship was excellent. Based on our experience with them on this job, we plan to bring them back to change the blinds on a few more windows.

Good experience from start to finish. Ben called right away to let me know that Heather would be contacting me for a consult. Heather came right out, listened to what I wanted and made suggestions. My front door is a huge door that is antique cherry in color. It is curved at the top and has lots of glass. Heather matched the colors perfect and even took the style of my home and other window coverings into consideration. The installer showed up to measure and then I had to wait for about a month because they had to be custom made. The installer contacted me to work on an install date and they are more beautiful than I imagined. Well worth the money and time I waited. I highly recommend this company.

It was easy to schedule a visit for a consultation. I thought that I wanted plantation shutters but was willing to consider other options. The person who came was knowledgeable and had a sample book that let me see the quality of materials that would be used. She helped me sort out shutter size, etc. and had a good eye for matching colors. The shutters arrived within the specified time. Scheduling installation was relatively easy, and the installer called during the morning to let us know how his day was shaping up. After installation, they called to see if we were satisfied The shutters themselves are excellent--good quality materials, great color match and a perfect fit.. I did not shop around, so I don't know if the price was high or low. It was within my budget, so I was fine with that.

This was actually the second time that I've used Carolina Blind Crafters. The first time was for three rooms (approx $2k) and this time was for a single room ($700). I can't say enough about how wonderful they are to do business with! Heather & Ben were both responsive, on time and a joy to have in my home which is why I will not go anywhere else for window treatments. They are professional, timely and precise in what they do. I personally spent over a decade in building/building materials/installation and I must say that they are the best I've come across. I don't typically do reviews/referrals but I felt compelled to do so because of my multiple positive experiences. You will not be disappointed!

It was great working with Carolina Blind Crafters. Having recently gone into a local big box store, I was unimpressed with the service, price and selection of the window treatments available. I emailed CBC, and within a day I had an appointment scheduled with someone who could come out to my home and make design suggestions. The price was reasonable (Less than the quote from the larger store), and the install was fast and easy (and included in the quote -- no hidden/per window fees). It took about 3 weeks for our blinds to be ordered/custom made from the manufacturer. Within about a 4 week turnaround we had some beautiful blinds installed in our home - both light filtering and room darkening. When one of the blinds had a slight malfunction, the customer service was superb. A phonecall and email was returned to me in less than one business day. With no questions asked, a replacement blind was ordered. 3 weeks later, and after a 5 minute (or less) install, our problem was fixed. I have had nothing but good experiences with this company. The blinds have a lifetime warranty, and I am pleased to be able to work with a local business, and receive an exceptional product. When it comes time to add blinds to the rest of our home, I will be using Carolina Blind Crafters. They offer a 5% discount for members of Angie's List.

It went very well. The sales consultant recommendations were excellent. The installer did an excellent job. All, including the owner, we're very professional. The product is well constructed and works great. We are very pleased.

This was a very positive experience. The design consultant was on time for our appointment and spent a good deal of time discussing my choices for window shades and colors. We determined the type of shade, honeycomb with cordless lift system and the ability to open both from the top or bottom. Before the shades are ordered, the installer comes and checks the measurements for each window. He also was up front about the time frame for the project. The installer called several days before to schedule and was always on time. The installation was easy. This took about 45 minutes and was done very professionally. The installer also explained how to operate the shades and clean the shades. Had the installer measure other windows in the house for later shade install. I would use Carolina Blind Crafters again.

Heather, Ben and Alex were extremely professional and very nice to work with. We purchased shutters and blinds for our home. They look very nice, and the color match to our molding is ok. The price was fair. I would hire them again.

Wonderful... The initial sales person arrived on time with options and estimates. She measured and scheduled the installer. The installer showed up on the day of service. He was a little late, but had spent extra time with his previous installation. He spent extra time with me, as well, and explained care and handling of the shutters. I do not remember the exact dates (so I just estimated), but I was pleased after installation and am still very satisfied with the product. It has definitely improved the interior of my home.

The whole experience was very professional. From our first meeting with Heather to our installation provided by Ben. We love the new shades! Couldn't be more happy and satisfied with the whole experience.

It went very well. They came and did the initial measurements and quote in a timely manner and then worked with my schedule for the final measurements (even coming on a Sunday) and the installation. I was given a 4 week delivery schedule and they came in right on time. I wasn't able to be there for the installation but my sister said they were very careful with the installation and were mindful of the hardwood floors. I will definitely use them again when the need arises.

They offered options without pushing me into any specific decisions. I felt very comfortable with no pressure to choose or even purchase if I chose not to. A date was scheduled for installation and the installer was running a little late. The company and installer called several times to make sure the late time of the installation would be OK and they would happily reschedule if I was inconvenienced in any way. I was fine with the later time. The installer took his time and did an excellent job. He also explained the best way to care for the blinds and how to open and close them properly. I am very pleased with the professional attitude and service of the company. I will use them for the remainder of my window treatments when I can.
