Belfor Property Restoration

This was the WORST experience of my life!! The crew manager came out quickly to start the process. He talked a good game, like this project would not be too difficult and shouldn't take longer than a few weeks to complete. And for what I could tell he was right, it should have only taken a few weeks max. They came in on Thursday, set up dryers to dry out the floor, left them through the weekend. Once they came to pick them up they started pulling up the flooring. In the kitchen there was old linoleum flooring under another linoleum floor that had to be tested for asbestos. They got back to me over a week later saying it was positive for asbestos and would have to be removed by a special company. Disaster One was contacted, they came and removed the tile and replaced the underlay flooring in less than 6 hours. This is where the problems began. Belfor did not come back to the house to do ANYTHING for 3 weeks!! I called several times with no callback. Finally when I did talk with someone from the office, they said they had sent everyone to help with the flooding in VA. I found it hard to believe that they sent everyone from their company to VA. This is a large well known company. To make a long story short, the flooding happened on Father's Day 2016 which is June, we had to pay up front for a motel because we could not use our kitchen during all this. They took so long to finish this small project I didn't get to come home until August 13th!! Almost 2 months out of our home. Not to mention, they did not replace all of the damaged underlay flooring, they rolled it with some paint to kill mold. Now we have a big dip in our floor because of the water. They tore up our cabinets taking them out so they had to replace those and now our cabinets don't match in the kitchen. We even helped with the process by removing the old carpet in one of the rooms for them, removed and replaced the water heater, and put down new linoleum in the water heater room. I find it hard to believe it takes 2 months to do such little repairs when an asbestos clean up crew can come in and do more work than Belfor did the entire time in less than 6 hours. Once they were done, they left holes in the bottom of the cabinet where the dishwasher is now so you can see where the flooring did not extend under the dishwasher, the cut they made for the piping for the sink is a horrible cut, a big triangle with all different length sides, left cement flooring buildup in our sink in the bathroom, and left some random piece of wood at the bottom of the end side of the cabinets to extend the cabinet to the floor so it didn't show the dishwasher sticking out beyond the cabinet at the bottom and you can tell it doesn't belong there. When I tried to get back in contact with the manager he refused to call me back. Several months later we had some mold to start growing and we called them back out there. The manager happens to show up, I let him know of the unsatisfactory work they did. He agreed, apologized and said he would send his crew back out to fix the problems. We are now a year later and they never came back. They charged my insurance company so much that at the end of last year they dropped me due to the high cost of the repair! DO NOT HIRE BELFOR!! THEY TALK A GOOD GAME BUT GIVE YOU CRUMMY RESULTS.

Horrible! They did not do the work correctly - guy cam at night worked with headlight and stapled - not nailed tarp-- and did not correctly place tarp. as a result we had $5000 worth of damage with huge leak into our house They came back and did it correctly- and no more leak- but refused to do anything about he damage - claiming they had no warranties on their work. We DO NOT HiRE THEM

My garage suffered major water damage from a pipe bursting in the condo unit above me. The Belfor crew came the same day they were called, stripped off all the wet drywall, removed a lot of soaking wet, dripping insulation and set up blowers and a dehumidifier to dry out the garage. They will come back several times over the next few days to check on drying progress If you call Belfor Maryland, ask for Scott. He was great and his crew was really fast. This company provided great service. I would definitely recommend them.
