Our house, which is on a hill, had water from rain runoff filling the crawlspace. A previous attempt to solve it through an expensive "waterproofing" solution (adding drainage and a pump to the crawlspace) was not completely effective. Additional crawlspace contractors also had no recommendations for keeping the water out in the first place. We consulted with an independent landscape architect, who recommended addressing the gutter downspout drains and additional drainage in the yard. We also had problems with bermuda grass infesting the fescue lawn (which was a reinfestation from a previous eradication attempt, several years earlier), so we had to redo the grass as well. To execute the work, we chose Panoramic. Blake concurred with the other architect's approach, and Blake provided additional solution details and recommendations. Although it took a bit longer than I had originally expected to get all of the plans going, the work ended up going very well. Panoramic handled all of the grading, the drainage, and the lawn transformation to zoysia (sod). The result was the proper drainage of the rain runoff to the street gutter, a dry crawlspace, and a new warm-season lawn that is now greening up nicely. Panoramic successfully diagnosed and solved all of the problems, and we are most satisfied.
Description of Work: * Complete lawn transformation from fescue to zoysia (sod), including two-pass eradication of bermuda grass infestation. * Extensive grading of hilly contours and addition of a swale to direct water away from the house. * Two box-drains added to the new swale in the backyard with drainage to the front street curb. * Repiping and rerouting of five downspout drains, tied to two new outlets in the street curb. * Fixed foundation drain. * Added mulch areas on sides of the house.

Blake was the quintessential professional right from the start. All in all, he did exactly what he said he was going to do, when he said he could do it and for the price he quoted. All necessary changes were well communicated in advance and there were NO SURPRISES! If he was unable to make a commitment due to weather delays (landscapers are at the mercy of mother nature) he would immediately call and say so. I was very pleased with all the final results. His crew was careful and respected the property while there, which often isn't the case with some crews. One word of advice - Blake is a busy man because he runs a tight ship, has a solid company, and has steady business. If you want good work done, realize that you need to be somewhat patient and flexible and realize that the good companies aren't sitting around waiting for the phone to ring with your call. There are ALOT of bozo landscaping firms out there - this is NOT one of them. I would, and will, use them again in a minute.
Description of Work: I was a builder with a newly constructed house finishing up and needed a complete landscaping done on the property. I've dealt with a number of other landscaping firms in the past, some large "big name" companies and wasn't ever satisfied enough to call any of them back. So I called Blake/Panoramic for an estimate, and the rest is history. They did the entire site, including design and planning of landscaping, minor tree removal, grading, product selection and placement of plants, as well as many pallets of sod, and some seed/straw in the back.

Overall I was very satisfied with the work that Panoramic performed for us. Blake was nice to work with and I found him to be very knowledgeable with all aspects of hardscaping & landscaping. He was able to answer all of our questions & was able to adjust the work or suggest alternatives when we didn't like certain aspects of the plan. Blake helped us save money on the landscaping portion of the project by reusing & relocating existing landscape plants to more appropriate areas of the yard. The work crew was friendly & cleaned up after themselves well. I was surprised that they didn't start earlier in the day (typical start time was close to if not after 9 AM) but significant, noticeable progress was made every day they were on site. The project took longer than I expected though poor weather and our travel for the Christmas holiday played a role in extending the project. Difficulties in obtaining materials from the stone yard also contributed to the delay. My one complaint would be with regards to responsiveness & punctuality (as indicated in the B & C grades above). Blake was late (in one instance VERY LATE) to several of our scheduled meetings; this caused problems for my wife as her schedule does not have a lot of wiggle room. I also felt that responses to emails or phone calls could have been more prompt in some instances. I think this is indicative that Panoramic has been successful and perhaps needs an office manager or some kind of administrative staff to handle the additional volume of work as Blake seems to handle everything himself. In spite of the responsiveness & punctuality issues I was extremely happy with the finished product. Several neighbors have already stopped by to comment on how nice the patio & walkway look. I bid this job to several other landscape companies and Panoramic had the best price by far. I will definitely use Panoramic for any future landscaping projects.

Response from Panoramic Landscapes LLC
I can say that I was very interested in the project and I'm sorry the customer felt that I wasn't. I'm not sure why that opinion was formed. We met on the date that was scheduled and discussed the work. I said it would be about a week for the quote. The was never any correspondence after our meeting as the review states. I sent an email with the quote at nine days, and provided a free sketch for the slight delay. The was never any charge for the quote or sketch either as the review claims, all quotes are always free.

Panoramic Landscape LLC was one of three estimators in this project. The principal, Blake Seck, provided the original estimate and design considerations. He was professional and prompt with his original estimate and subsequently made changes to the statement of work in a prompt manner. He communicated very well with me during the project, mostly through e-mail. Blake and his team were able to start construction one week ahead of the original project start date. The project began with construction of 2 retaining walls. His masonry team was simply outstanding. The attention to detail was evident from the very beginning when the footing was poured and laid out exactly as I had instructed. The craftsmanship on the wall is impeccable and it is without a flaw. The work team kept a neat and tidy worksite and took great care to remain off the lawn area which had just been re-seeded. The wall construction was completed in approximately 1 week and looks spectacular. The landscape lighting, landscaping, and drain work was performed with equal professionalism. I am extremely happy with the outcome of this project and feel that Panoramic Landscape will be a future first choice on any landscaping needs I have.
Description of Work: Construction of two (2) interlocked retaining walls of 70 feet in total length. Wall base was cinderblock, veneer was natural stone-Tennessee ledger stone to match materials used on front of house. Wall construction included low voltage lighting installed under the wall capping, approximately 8 light units. Installation of low voltage lights to illuminate front house fascade, approximately 5 'up lights' with master transformer. Installation of a drain pipe with 20 foot trench from house down spouts into natural area. Installation of landscaping plants in the infill section of the retaining wall, backfill with soil, and top with hardwood mulch.

I can't say enough about Blake and his crew. This was a challenging job with high-expectation clients (me!), and they handled everything very professionally. Blake always showed up on time and gave estimates when he said he would. We changed many things during the course of the project and they went with the flow without nickel and diming us. The quality of everything is A+. I can't believe the amount of time and craftsmanship they put into the planters...probably 80 man hours or more. Each stone was individually ground and shaped so that everything fit together like a puzzle. They were very considerate of the existing yard and were careful not to destroy surround landscaping or crack the driveway with large dump trucks when stone was delivered. I have no hesitations recommending Blake.
Description of Work: Panoramic Landscapes installed roughly 850 square feet of pavers and two large stone planters.

Pretty good- weather had a big impact on our project and caused numerous delays. Work quality was good His team does a good job but it was difficult to get on to his busy schedule once schedule slippages began. He fixed the quality concerns we pointed out in the retaining wall and was flexible in working with our irrigation crew as well. We lost 20% of the sod he installed, and have learned that brown patch is particularly aggressive in install situations like ours. Would have been good to know before the fungus ate up the new turf. The yard looks good- except for the dead grass in many spots- and hope next year it will better off with stronger rooting.

A great patio! Took a little while to get everything scheduled with their workload and my travel but once we connected I could not have been happier. When Blake came over to look over the project and give me an estimate he made some very suggestions regarding placement and size of the patio. The project ended up being larger than I originally planned but I am very happy with the results. He gave me the address of a local stone supplier so I could go see what the various stones look like to help me decide which ones to get which helped a lot! The team that showed up was very professional and got to work immediately. They took great pains to level out the area in the backyard and to make sure they did not cut any of the cables that ran through my backyard. They even went as far as to relocate the wires so they would not interfere with future projects as much and to relocate a sewer access pipe so that the walkway did not cover it up. After installing the patio and the walkway they made sure the gate worked correctly and removed part of the walkway to reset the stonework so the gate would work correctly. When it was all complete they spent almost half a day making sure everything was cleaned up and ready to go. Overall a great job and everyone that comes over loves it!

I was having a drainage issue with water pooling in my front yard and seeping into my crawl space due to grading issues. Blake responded to my call promptly, came out and spent a good deal of time assessing the issue in order to provide an estimate. He was very thorough in the assessment and the options offered. He was very responsive over e-mail as far as the estimate and setting up a time for the work. The crew arrived right on time and did a great job, quickly. They also cleaned up beautifully. They put in a drain box where the rain was pooling and corrugated pipe to lead the water off the the side of the house. They also lowered the grading a bit in the area of the lawn to direct water away from the house. You couldn't even tell when they were done that my yard had just been dug up. Cost was exactly what the estimate said. Overall great experience and would use them again and recommend them. Blake was also very responsive as far as answering any questions I had.

We have already recommend him to five people as he is very good. We have used him three times. He is going to incorporate the price into some of the things that he will be doing for us in the fall and hence, we have not yet paid for that service. We did a very big project with him that cost $7000. He did a major landscaping job for us. He is great. His prices are very good and they are the best. The quality of work is very high. His responsiveness is good but not great which would be his fault. We will definitely continue to use him in the future.

Did research on patio pavers and landscapers, and Blake's team came in at the middle price range with high quality work. He recently did patio work for one of the houses in our neighborhood, and the results were very good. Overall, the project was done in a week, and was high-quality, well-done work. Blake was able to work within our schedule and provided design documents, contracts, etc. for all the documentation we needed related to our HOA approval. We have received many compliments on this since we installed it, and have been able to enjoy the summer that much more because of it. Thanks, Panoramic!
Description of Work: Blake and his team did a phenomenal job putting down approximately 350 sq ft of patio pavers in the back of our house. In addition to the patio itself, Blake installed an approx 22' curved knee-high natural stone wall with steps and a natural stone top. the patio itself was done with urbana pavers (Belgard) bonded with polymeric sand, and the knee-high wall was done with shawnee stone (regular thin), with cinder block "skeleton" and cement bonding.

Our experience with Panoramic Landscapes was great. We had several quotes to do our large landscaping project this spring. Panoramic Landscapes was in line with the other quotes we received, but we decided to use them because Blake understood what we were looking for more than others. He went out of his way to help us know our options, including going to a previous landscaping job to take pictures. They started in mid-May and the project took approximately one week. The crew was on time every day and were very hard workers. We found them easy to communicate with and they were very flexible with some minor adjustments we requested. They paid attention to detail and were willing to take the time to get things right. For example, part way through the laying of the patio we had rain. This caused the sand to settle which made a small dip in the patio. It looked fine, but when it rained again a day or two later we realized we had standing water. After communicating our concern with the work crew, they immediately removed the whole section of patio and relayed it, no questions asked. We were impressed. The patio, stone walls, and grass look even better than we expected, and we've received many positive comments from friends and neighbors. We would highly recommend Panoramic Landscapes and plan to use them again.

Panoramic installed a gorgeous travertine patio. It looks fantastic. Blake, the owner, was very good to work with before and during the installation; we did a lot of joint work to define the patio. He made several helpful suggestions, including several different helpful ways to reduce costs. The crew was polite, cleaned up well. Overall great experience. The brick work was extremely well done. The crew are hard workers and pay attention to detail. In the whole job, there was only one part I complained about and his crew came out and redid that portion. We are extremely pleased with the outcome. Blake met me at the brick store and helped to select a matching brick. He worked with our existing design and helped to improve it. He was extremely reasonable with two small changes that resulted in increased cost -- the final outcome was only $250 more than the initial quote. No surprises here. Panoramic works hard to maintain their 'A' rating on Angie's List. If you work with them, know that you are selecting someone who is both professional and has reasonable prices. Therefore, don't expect the work to be done the week after your first phone call. You will have to wait a little for a quote (the other two landscapers had gotten back to me, scheduled appointments, met with me and turned around their inflated quotes before I even got the first phone call from Blake.) But I decided to give Blake a chance, realizing that this situation could be easily explained by being in high demand. I'm glad I was patient, because it was worth the wait. If you're the impatient type, then I suggest you look somewhere else. If you are willing to wait a little for great value, then look no further. I will also note that Blake was extremely responsive after we were underway -- that is, after the quote process.

The design and outcome isfabulous; they began by tearing out wall and patio in the back of the house and then worked their way up the side tearing out a driveway and sidewalk replacing it with the new materials. The wall and back patio were very difficult to replace given the conditions, old materials and problems with trying to create a new patio that had the right slope when it had to be done with the house and deck still standing. Blake made several adjustments to get it done properly. He made certain everything was in working order. He advised us of what he was doing every step of the way and gave us good chocies on materials and plantings. We actually wnet out to see materials before we started so we could be well informed. He gave us the pros and cons of materials. He re-sodded our front yard for no charge after one section was damaged with equipment and he has come back to check on plantings. We really wanted natural and environmentally sensitive plants and materials and are very pleased with results. We would hire Panoramic again. The work was completely done on schedule
Description of Work: Blake and his crew replaced a retaining wall in our very steep backyard--the existing wall was in very bad shape, they repalced a large outside patio, added steps into the backyard. They took out a side driveway and replaced with winding steps and walkway, and plantings, replaced a fonrt sidewalk with natural stone pavers and stone and stone driveway and stone blocks lining the driveway and walkway. They added four low lights that have an auto timer, they added underground irrigation and created system to divert water from downspouts away from house. They replaced and added plants and perennials.

Blake's brick pavers are very skilled craftsmen. Much of the labor and materials (and therefore much of the expense) went into the pavers and the many natural stone steps. This was very creative work, very difficult to do because of the slopes and the contours, especially in the back, but all was executed to perfection. Frankly, we had not started out with this much landscaping in mind. However, as more was done the possibilities just grew and we ended up with something well beyond what we would have expected to be possible. Our whole lot has been transformed from an ugly mess into a thing of beauty. We could not be happier. Blake and his crew were professional, courteous and always cleaned up afterwards. They worked hard and did a great job. Blake helped us pick stones, plants and material for the steps by taking us to nurseries and garden supply places. He was patient and thorough. He is a busy man, so there were times when we had to call or e-mail a few times to get hold of him, but that was not typical. Panormaic Landscapes is a first class operation and I strongly recommend them.
Description of Work: Our home is on a one acre lot that had been largely neglected for a number of years. The yard was full of trees, had severe slopes front and back, grass that was mostly dead or overgrown and, with the exception of a few shrubs, largely devoid of plants. We had 30 trees removed at Blake's suggestion. He then came up with a plan for the front and side that involved filling in a swail near the road to be able to put in grass on a level space, building a stone wall to break up the slope of the front yard, adding grass below the wall, removing the concrete front side-walk and re-orienting the front walkway with brick pavers, removing a nasty walk at the side made of wood and replacing it with pavers. With lots of clean-up, mulch and about 100 deer resistant plants of various sizes (all watered with drip irrigation), he made the front and side of our lot look fabulous. Since he did such a great job on the front and side, we asked him to take a shot at the back which had really severe slopes, and limited sun shine for grass to grow. He suggested steps leading down to a circular brick paver walkway around a patch behind the lower deck, which he filled with plants. Grass was planted where there was sun; plants and ground cover where the sun was limited. All of this was finished with a fire pit, surrounded by river rock and a natural stone wood holder. The back looks even more spectacular than the front.

I talked with Blake a few times on the phone to set up an appointment for an estimate. Prior to meeting for the estimate, he gave me some advice regarding best-case timing for having my work done (fall). When he came over, I walked him through all of the work I intended to have done (everything from sodding to having a retaining wall built), and he took measurements (total of about 20 minutes). He said he would send me an estimate, although I dont believe he ever gave me date when he would provide it. It is 4 weeks later and I have not heard from him. I left him a polite message on his phone, asking him whether he would still like to do business with me, reminding him that i was still looking for the estimate. I never heard from him. It would have been more professional of him to tell me that he was not interested. I am disappointed by this experience. Based on his AL reputation, I would have liked to do business with him because I am sure that it would have been good work. Also, Blake was a likeable, polite guy and I'm sure he would have been easy to work with. The only thing i can figure out is that my medium sized dog jumped up on him a couple of times, which may have bothered him. I promptly stopped the dog and removed her from his presence.

Response from Panoramic Landscapes LLC
When I met with the customer in the early summer we talked about scheduling work for the fall since there was fescue sod and landscaping involved. I was out of town the week that he called, I contacted him when I returned, and provided the free estimate that same week. I have not heard from the customer since.

It was I was very impressed with the guy. He really talked to me about what plants needed to be in sun and shade. Some of the things I wanted weren't tolerant of the heat here, so he explained that to me. I am from out of state so all of these plants are new to me.
Description of Work: They landscaped my front, back and side yard.

Overall, I was very happy with their work. It took way too long to get on their schedule though. I wish they could get work scheduled faster. otherwise, it was worth the wait.
Description of Work: Had them build a patio and do some basic landscaping.

Blake came out and created a nice simple design for our back and side yards. He was very easy to work with and explained all aspects of the design (why you would want one plant versus another, the differences between the different kinds of rocks for our side yard paths, etc.) He had good suggestions for our troublesome side yards. One side yard is particularly difficult due to its narrowness and sharp slope away from the house. Blake suggested we "carve" a flat path down the length of it, leaving a "high" end near the house and a "low" end on the opposite side of the path. The high and low sides were mulched and planted, while the path was covered with river rocks. At the end of the path, it curves around to rise and meet our back patio with a series of stone slab steps. This part of our yard has gone from the most hated and frustrating to our favorite; the difference is night and day. I was initially a bit skeptical about it, but it turned out amazing. In the course of the work, Blake was in communication with us over the kinds of plants we'd like put in. One time the plants we'd originally wanted could not be found at any of the area nurseries, so Blake worked with us to pick new plants (we also had the option to wait until later when the original plants could be found, but we decided otherwise). He was very helpful with this, offering many good suggestions. He was never pushy or overbearing, never tried to impose his view of what was "right", and always listened and payed attention to us and what we wanted. His workers came over the course of several days (with holidays and cold snaps in between). They worked quickly and professionally and did excellent work. We've been very pleased with the entire process and will be having Blake back again in the spring to tackle the front yard. We recommend him highly.
Description of Work: Groundcover was planted over a large portion of the backyard, a mulch bed with several plants was defined next to the house, a river rock path was laid down on one side of the house, while the other side of the house got grading, plants, a river rock path, and several large stone steps installed
