Tar Heel Basement Systems just finished fixing my crawlspace and installing a dehumidifier, and I'm very happy with the results. The team did an excellent job and finished in about 1/2 day. I can highly recommend the company AND the team (Shane English - foreman, Luke Bolinger, and Riley Lane).

Tar Heel Basement Systems has done both a foundation stabilization and then a year later, crawl space encapsulation. The James, James, Jeffery and Terell team were definitely the A-Team. They were all great to work with, pleasant, efficient, and hard-working, and went above and beyond in the quality of their work and attention to detail. Thank You 'A' Team!!

Tar Heel was great from beginning to end. Luke met us at the house and gave us great advice on the encapsulation we wanted done and additional input on how to make our space more usable and secure. He was great though whole process. The team that came to do the actual installation, Cameron, Evan and Onyx, were very professional and also went above and beyond (they found buried brick under the ground underneath the space). The team was fast and did a great job on the install. We really appreciate the excellent work and the overall experience.

Appreciated help of Nathan on front end to understand and accept offer for our crawl space upgrade. Ray M. and Justin V. did excellent job of explaining and clarifying sealing/encapsulating process, with follow-up by Nick, Supervisor. Just awaiting last step by their Electrician to hook up and start Dehumidifier.

The team of Donald Jones, James White, and Devon Vereen did an exceptional job with the encapsulation of our crawl space. They explained what they were doing, explained what was needed to be done, and worked hard to get it done and clean up after! Highly recommend.

It started great with our initial appointment. David M. was super informative and very responsive to all of our questions. Our team that did the work were awesome! Jabril M., Davone T., and Zach Y got our crawl space done and did a phenomenal job. They were super helpful sending pictures of the progress and answering our questions. If I had to do it all over again, I would request this team!

I would recommend caution to anyone who is working with Tarheel Basement Systems without first consulting with a third party Structural Engineer. I had this company out to look at some cracks in our exterior brick to see if we needed foundation repair. The sales person who came out has been trained by Tarheel to do these inspections and reached the conclusion that we do need repair. They quoted the solution right then and there and recommended we have 5 piers installed at a cost of approximately $12,000. Their process does not involve a structural engineer coming on site to make their own conclusions. They only send the proposed solution to a certified structural engineer for review digitally. I was offered a financial incentive for signing a contract that same day, which I did agree to. However I also negotiated in an extended time to cancel without fee so that I could get a second opinion. When I did get a second opinion (from '58 Foundations) they reached a very different conclusion and felt I needed no foundation repair at all, and provided compelling reasoning and evidence as to why. They recommended I get a structural engineer out to verify. I contracted Giles Flythe Engineers to come and have the final say on what repair, if any, our foundation needed. After their review they found that no repairs were needed. I think it is important to point out that our sales representative from Tarheel was a nice person, who I believe was acting truthfully to what they believed and were trained to do. I also don't doubt all of the reviews here on Angi that Tarheel does quality work. But I do believe that at least some of the work that they are being praised for here was not needed in the first place. I think there is a systemic issue in the sales and quoting process at Tarheel Basement Systems that allows for mistakes like this to happen. At the point that I canceled my contract with Tarheel Basement Systems they were calling me to schedule the day my work would begin on. $12,000 of foundation repair, adding 5 piers, that I didn't need.

Everybody we interacted with this company was exceptionally professional, helpful, and understanding of our needs. The work crew of Ani, Ryan, and Jamar were very efficient with the work performed and did an exceptional job. We will 100% be using this company for any services needed in the future. We can not say enough about the quality of this company. This was the best interaction we have had with any contractors on our 100 year old home from start to finish. If I see these guys out on the town I'm buying their drinks.

Zack M & Noah B arrived on time, got right to work, worked well as a team, worked steadily until the job was complete. They were respectful of property and went beyond the expected.

The work was fantastic. We bought this home in early March and the crawl space needed some major attention. Tar Heel Basements were extremely thorough from start to finished. Everyone was very communicative and punctual. Omar, Zack Yon, and Daniel Jones did phenomenal work. The finished product is so impressive. Daniel made sure to walk me through everything once complete so I knew everything that was done and what to be aware of. I cannot recommend their work enough.

GREAT from the initial estimate to doing the work.....

Zack Mitchell, Nyles and David did a good job installing push piers along one side of my house. Before the work, the foundation wall was out of plumb by an inch. Afterwards one part of the wall was plumb while another section was only approximately 3/8" out of plumb. Overall, I'm happy. I have piece of mind this portion of the footing/foundation wall is stabilized. If there are any problems I know Tar Heel will comeback out to make any adjustments.

I wasn’t able to get into my crawl space for a few months after they finished and found areas near my air handler and furnace blocked...

Very professional from meeting me to inspect work that needed to be done and providing the quote --- to the crew coming out to do the work.They were on time and explained the entire technique as they raised and leveled my storage building floor (they let me watch the process). They finished on time, cleaned up the area and were on their way. Very satisfied and would definitely use them again.

This company came out to give us a free estimate on my aunt’s house. I was impressed from the first phone call. The gentleman who came out was very knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. We thought the pricing was very reasonable as well. We however decided not to have the work done. I’m sure they would have done a fantastic job though.
