TROSA Moving

It was a great moving experience overall-the movers were very professional and responsible. They showed up on time, worked quickly, took good care of our furniture, and asked us where we wanted everything in the new house (we've had movers before who dumped things willy-nilly). The final price was a little higher than we were expecting, but not too much over the estimate-we moved from a 1500 square-foot house, packed everything ourselves, moved about 30 miles, and the total was around $1200. But it's a good organization and we'd definitely use them again.

I needed to move some furniture, boxes and equipment from the office to my house. Since it was a small job they left the exact time open, and then called me in the afternoon when they had a crew available which worked fine for me. I met them at the office they loaded everything quickly through our loading dock. The followed me to the house (on some tricky traffic moments) and unloaded everything there. I had some ridiculously heavy tables that turned out didn't fit through my front door so they disassembled parts, and carried the remaining really heavy parts all the way through the house out the back sliding door (which just barely fit so it was really really hard work) outside down the stairs and back in to my home office basement (you can't just go around at my house due to steep slope). So I probably had one of the hardest amounts of work for a small job ever for them. They handled it all admirably (professionally and jovially). I would absolutely hire Trosa again. I tipped them each $20 ($60 total) which ended up going as a tax deductible donation to the Trosa program. I have used a different company in the past, and never again, always going to use Trosa. Lots of friends have recommended them to me as well. Oh and they were extremely careful throughout, having an extra person watch the two carrying to make sure they weren't bumping in to walls (I have really tricky curved staircase and they did it perfectly)

Wonderfully-absolute great experience. We've already booked them for our move out of the apartment and into our next house. Would recommend this company to anyone.

TROSA did an outstanding job on our interstate move of 7,700 pounds. We had them pack all our stuff. Four female workers did that work, and they did a great job. They put stuff in logical boxes and packed our many dishes and glasses very carefully. The boxes were of good quality. Six males loaded our stuff on the truck, and four unloaded it at the new place, having driven there in the intervening day. The loaders wrapped every piece of wooden furniture in pads, bubble wrap, and tape. I've never seen movers take such care. The unloaders were very careful not only with our things, but also with the houses we were moving out of and into. The workers were courteous and dedicated. The only downside to our experience with TROSA was that it was quite hard to get in touch with the fellow who came out to give us our estimate: he was rarely in the office and had no cell phone (apparently), and the receptionist often had trouble putting us through to the right voice-mail so that we could leave a message for him. The first time he emailed us our estimate, it apparently went astray. So that part was sort of a drag. But everything else was great, and all the other people we had contact with were very responsive. They did not demand a deposit, which sort of surprised me. TROSA is staffed by recovering addicts -- the work they do is part of their recovery program -- and another moving company tried to use this fact to scare us away from TROSA. But all the TROSA folks who came to our house were great -- polite, careful, hard-working, and well supervised at all times by TROSA employees who were veterans of the program. In short, they did a terrific job, and I felt really good about our decision to go with them. By the way, I'm not sure the workers get to keep tips -- it'd be worth asking when you first call them, or asking your estimator, which I didn't do. But they did really appreciate that we provided coffee and donuts in the morning and pizza and sodas for lunch. Make sure to get a "binding, not to exceed estimate" (that goes for any moving company). I recommend getting them to pack for you -- the packing services added less than $700 to our bill, and it saved us weeks and weeks of work and stress.

They did a great job. They moved everything and got everything to the new place without being broken. They were very quick and they actually came in under the estimate, which was nice. I have already recommended them and I would use them again myself.

Overall it went well. The estimate was very close to the final price. The schedulers were very accommodating and worked with me to keep the cost of the move down. The crew was incredibly polite, worked quickly and kept to schedule. The only complaint I have is that the boxes were not labeled very well which caused confusion and some delay in unpacking. Also, the crew were not informed that I had requested unpacking service. They were very accommodating anyway, but it resulted in a very long day for all. Truthfully though, had I had more time to plan the placement of furniture and household in the new place, it would have been easier for them.

The estimators were professional and thorough in explaining how they worked. The original price quote was $902. The estimator kept in contact as the move approached, calling to give me updates and clarification. The move was ASAP, and the movers arrived within an hour of the estimated time they gave me that morning. The entire move went quickly, Avis and his crew were efficient and friendly, and the cost came in $200 under the estimate. Overall it was very successful and I recommend them highly. But don't forget to tip--these guys deserve it.

They are very professional and actually sat down with us to talk about the move. I thought they were a little more pricy than others that I saw, but they were very responsive and professional.

Went beautifully. The crew arrived a little early, worked steadily and vigorously through a hot, humid morning and got everything off the truck (and picked up a couple of items from a neighbor's house) within the two-hour minimum charge. They were polite, friendly, jovial and astonishingly hard-working under quite unpleasant climatic conditions.

The entire process was a pleasure. From the moment I phoned to schedule a visit for an estimate to the completion of the project, you could not ask for nicer or more professional people to work with. The work was done extremely well and all in one day, despite the amount of yardage that needed to be covered.

Richard Henry came and gave me the estimate. A crew of two did the work and it was completed in one day. They were very responsive to work I wanted done. They are thorough and do any excellent job. I highly recommend them.

Move went very well! The estimators and actual movers arrived on time, followed up by phone as required, and came in under cost. I had packed my belongings myself and they were very careful and thorough.

I was impressed with their crew. They were very knowledgeable and offered tips for keeping up with the yard. They were on time and completed the work on schedule. They made sure that I was satisfied with the work they did.

This is a non profit organization and they help people with problems get back on track. I think that they do a wonderful job. There are two people who work on the lawn. When they are done they leave a bill and a report card. I like that if you have a problem, you can call and let them know.

Very reasonably priced. I would not hesitate to refer anyone to them!

My move was pretty small. My children were pretty involved in the planning and overseeing to make sure everything was handled like I wanted it to be. This company was very prompt though. They were respectful towards my son, my daughter and myself, and while I have no plans on moving again in the future, if I was going to move, I would use them.

It went wonderfully. The six men crew showed up on time and got to work immediately. All six of them were very polite and professional. Everything went very smoothly and nothing was damaged. They took really good care of both my old house while moving things out and my new house while moving things in. I had talked to them about moving insurance before the move and had been told by them since both houses were so open (transitional architecture) that they really didn't think I needed to pay for extra insurance. I was appreciative of the advice. They also came in $600 *under* their estimate. Granted, they also told me that had a lot to do with our preparation for the move as everything was boxed up and ready to go when they showed up. In the new house, they put all the bed together, placed furniture where I wanted it, etc. I would definitely use them again if I planned to do another move.

I was very pleased. A crew of about 6 people came to my home in Durham and spent approx 8 hours packing our things. We only had 1 minor item break and they took responsibility. Then the next day a crew of about 6 guys moved all my things from Durham to Raleigh in about 8 hours. They were very professional and did a nice job. They were very careful not to scuff my new flooring. The only thing I was not happy about is the price compared to estimate. They estimated about $2400 so the actual cost was nearly $1000 more than the estimate, $300 of this was optional, for extra insurance. Still I thought the charge was very reasonable. Several friends who used TROSA told me that the actual cost was lower than estimated which is why I was surprised. One picture was broken during the move and they have been very good about helping me get it replaced. Would definitely use again. For both packing and moving, the crew arrived on time and was very professional and trustworthy.

The job went about as well as I expected. The initial quote was high, but TROSA was willing to work with us to get it down to a more reasonable level. We had an average of 4 people in our yard for about 4 days. While not exactly hustling, the crew worked consistently over that time. I think we would have been much less happy with the work had I not taken off and provided continual feedback to them on the job and what we wanted done. The crew was not made up of plant experts, but what they lacked in expertise they made up for in responsiveness. The crew was courteous and professional at all times.

Excellent. The workers were on time and worked very hard. You must know the money generated for this work pays for the Trosa program and residential costs, so these workers do not make any money. It's part of the 2 year program plan they have. I recommend providing them lunch to show your appreciation, but this isn't required. They are so respectful and motivated to please. I've used them 5 times and would recommend them to anyone needing labor done outside the house. The director, Steve Hill, will soon get his landscape license and is knowledgeable, and helpful to plan the jobs. rice is 17.50 an hour per man. Minimum is 2 hours, 2 men, but I had them all day, several days. The workers are not trained landscapers, but gain experience with each job they do. Steve Hill helps with setting up jobs and is constantly in touch all day with them to make sure all is well.

Reasonable price, worked hard, and were very polite. Nothing broken or damaged. The only problem we had in the move was a mistake in scheduling, but they worked hard to fix when informed of their mistake.

WE HAVE USED THIS COMPANY SEVERAL TIMES. THEY HAVE ALWAYS DONE AN EXCELLENT JOB. THEY HAVE NEVER SCRATCHED, DENTED, OR BROKE ANYTHING. THEY ARE PUNCTUAL EFFICIENT.

THIS COMPANY DID AN EXCELLENT JOB ON MOVING MY FURNITURE. I PACKED UP EVERYTHING. THEY TOOK VERY GOOD CARE OF THE FURNITURE IN THE MOVE. I WAS VERY FAVORABLY IMPRESSED WITH THEIR JOB.

THEY WERE VERY POLITE. NOTHING WAS BROKEN OR SCRATCHED. I FEEL THAT IT WAS A VERY POSITIVE EXPERIENCE, AND THE MONEY PAID TO THIS COMPANY GOES TO A VERY GOOD CAUSE.

THEIR SUPERVISORS ARE REALLY GOOD AND THEY REALLY KEEP THE PROCESS GOING. THEY WERE VERY CAREFUL WITH MY BELONGINGS. I DIDN'T HAVE ANYTHING BREAK IN THE MOVE THAT WAS THEIR FAULT. I WAS REALLY HAPPY WITH THE MOVE.
