TROSA Moving

The guys were hardworking and polite. They did take care in moving furniture and boxes. The big problem was that they lost about ten boxes of our stuff . TROSA insists that they did not lose our things because we signed the inventory presented to us at the end of the move. We took the word of the crew chief who said that he had checked every box and piece of furniture and was sure it had all been delivered. When we went through the inventory sheet ourselves after noticing that we were missing things we found that boxes and furniture had been mixed up in the initial inventory and that at least ten numbered items were missing. I am so sorry that I took the word of the crew chief instead of checking the entire inventory myself before signing off on the move. The TROSA rep. I spoke to was inisitent that because I signed the inventory sheet that nothing is missing. That's just not the case. I understand that they feel no obligation to help me get my things back because they are legally covered but my things are still missing and I will always blame TROSA for that. I cannot recommend them based on my experience.

My wife and I did a lot of the prep work. I even moved the large items to the living room to make the process go smoother. I believe that helped streamline the process. The movers seemed very happy to see this. They came ready to work. The whole experience was over in about 2.5 hours. I would certainly use this service again.

We've used Trosa four times now and have been very pleased each time with their service. They always arrive early and are very fast, friendly and careful.

I hired TROSA for this job because I like to support their cause, and they had done a fine job on my lawn in the past. I must say up front that I always enjoy interacting with them because they are so polite and friendly. This time the work did not go so well. It took them over two hours to remove the base of the basketball goal. They spent a long time on the first two holly bushes as well, although the others seemed to go faster. I was busy with kids inside, but at the end I saw them cutting the ivy with weed whackers. The job look neat enough that day, but problems started showing up later. Within three weeks, the ivy was growing back and I had weeds shooting up through the pea gravel. Later, when I found sprigs of holly shooting up in one area, I discovered that they had left some big roots behind when they removed the bushes. ( I know that holly is difficult to get out, but they should have at least mentioned the problem.) Overall, the work was mediocre, at least in the long term. I never got around to calling to complain. I would still support the organization, but I think I'd stick to lawn mowing and moving.

We spent about $779. They provided excellent service. They moved my furniture. I have a piano which is heavy. It did not touch the hardwood floors. They entered the house and walked until the carpet and then put it down where it is sitting now. There was no damage of any consequence; nothing broken or scratched. They were very professional. They had a supervisor who was with them. I thought he was supervising but he was not. There was nothing he had to do because these guys were really good. I had chosen them because they had moved my office. The company I worked for used them to move offices. They had done an excellent job there. They were punctual; in fact, they came half an hour early. I will use this company in the future if needed.

The person who gave the quote was great. The team that came out did a fairly good job, but the leader of the crew was not professional. It was to the point that his unprofessionalism made me uncomfortable. I don't know if he was having a bad day or what. It was an unfortunate situation and I actually talked at length with his supervisor and his supervisor's supervisor. I would not use them for lawn care but I would use them for something else.

Great experience, I will use them again and recommend them to anyone that is moving or just needs some help moving furniture around for painting or flooring installs.

They are ex-prisoners and their work was very good. They did some landscaping in my backyard. When I told them what they to do, they were very willing to do it. They were good at digging up the soil and turning it over. They weren?t hugely knowledgeable about planting and landscaping. The three people who came out, on two different occasions, really didn?t have much knowledge about plants. So, I had to basically make sure that to tell them very clearly what to do and then they were willing to do it. They didn?t know much and so when they transplanted some of the plants they didn't dig up the root ball, so of course the plants died. That was a little bit of a downside. It all depends on how you use them. If you are going to use them heavy lifting, they can be quite good at that for very fair price. If, on the other hand, you need them for things for which they need some knowledge about plants, they do not have that knowledge and they don't come accompanied with anyone in a group that has that kind of information. They might or might not put the right amount of fertilizer when planting a plant if you are not around to tell them what to do. I appreciate the idea behind the company, I appreciate the physical work that they did, but in terms of knowledge about landscaping, they need to improve. I spent about $300, the first time they came out. The next time I paid $125. They did a lot of work for the money, but you are trading a lot of work for some knowledge. They were very responsive and the price was very fair. They did nice work but they could have sent us a more knowledgeable crew. If we have more physical work in the future, we might use them again.

They arrived on time and worked hard to get the move done in one day. Several big guys and one surpervisor came. The supervisor was our main contact and took care of managing the crew. We had gotten boxes and supplies from them a few days earlier and packed most everything other than large items ourselves. At the time of providing an estimate, they had suggested that we packed stuff ourselves as a way to save money. The supplies, boxes of different kinds, packing paper etc, cost us about $300. It took longer than they had estimated: about 2 hours more. I believe it was because the new house had a big attic and I had them move several big items all the way up. They charged us for those extra hours. The charges were reasonable. They gave me credit for the time they took for breaks and lunch. I was not happy with them charging me for two more hours, but I agree it was partly my fault. We had some supplies left over. I was surprised that they gave us credit for that too. Would use them again.

It went very well and quickly. Everyone was very polite and friendly.

Company gave me options on number of movers I wanted and what the hourly rate would be accordingly ahead of time. They arrived on the designated day exactly on time and wasted no time in starting the move. The 3 men were professional and worked very h****** a very hot day in Raleigh. It took longer than I had estimated as some furniture had to be disassembled and then put back together at the new location. I originally thought it would take 3 hours but it took 4 hours instead -- and these guys were working their butts off the entire time -- there was no slacking off or wasting time. They were very professional and courteous. Their equipment, the truck and packing materials were all top notch quality and clean. In retrospect, I should have opted for a 4-man team as it would have been faster and cheaper in the long run. But, I was very pleased with the results nevertheless and will hire them again. I highly recommend this company for moving.

Fantastic job. Price was as quoted, move was well done with no damage. Very punctual and efficient. Extremely hardworking.

Overall it was a good experience. Steve Hill is a professional and he does an"Excellent" job of communicating with us as customers. He came out to evaluate our needs, materials and costs within a week after we called. Steve and his Assistant, Terrence, have worked with my husband and me in a timely and professional manner. They actually return calls within reasonable time periods, often the same day. Steve's lawn care crew works hard and does a thorough job. Steve was right on in calculating the amount and type of sod we required for a front yard lawn skirt...the men maintain it beautifully. Moreover, we have not experienced any problems with any of the crew. Actually, it is a pleasure to interact with Steve, Terrence and the crew members. We have an annual contract and we would not hesitate to recommend the service to any one. My husband and I recently relocated to Durham, NC from Westchester County, New York.. We had the same lawn care company over 30 years. Their work was good but by our standards TROSA 's Lawn care service does "excellent" work. We believe the cost of services performed to be fair and commensurate with the quality of work provided.

They did a decent job of moving us. We were pretty happy with them. Overall, we had a good experience dealing with them.

I am so pleased I will never use another lawn service except for Trosa.

My sister got a notice on Tuesday she needed to be out of here apartment ASAP and it was a mistake she had been able to move in at all. I called Trosa and set up an appointment after reading their reviews on Angie's List. The lady on the phone was very helpful and gave me a rough idea of what the charges would be. We scheduled an estimate for Thursday for a move and pack on Friday. The estimators were very nice and on time. The estimate walk through only took about 15 minutes. They sent me an email with the official estimate later in the afternoon. We agreed on the estimate and scheduled the packers/movers for 8-8:30am the next morning. The movers were on time. They packed everything very efficiently and carefully. There were three very friendly and very strong guys. They packed everything into the truck and very quickly unpacked the truck at the new place. They came in under the estimate. I would definitely work with this company again. They made an extremely stressful situation, easy. I can't believe we got her packed and moved into a new place in less than 4 days. We couldn't have done it without Trosa!

I liked how flexible they are in scheduling. I like their publicity. Sometimes I feel that their resources are not trained that well. Basically I have had good experience with them.

They were a great company. They were on time and did a great job. They didn't charge me any extra for the time that was spent waiting out the storms, which I appreciated. I plan to use them again for any future needs.

Right on time. Very careful with things, walls, etc. Put furniture and boxes just where marked. Professional attitude. Very hard workers. I would definitely use them again.

They sent out three guys who did a lot of work. I met them a couple of times, because they were here mostly while I was at work, but they did a very good job. About two years prior to this, I had got estimates from about a dozen different landscapers, and there was only one that quoted lower than his price. Out of all the landscapers, he was the only one who told me about the Durham water restrictions at that time. He told me two years ago that he could do the lawn for me but that I wouldn?t be able to water it and it would all be a waste.

Went great. No surprises. Big enough crew to get it all done before sundown. On time in all cases. Estimate was done by well dressed professionals. Move was outstanding. We had large furniture that had to come down stairs with a 90 degree bend in it. No damage to anything or the house either. Best move I have ever had (and I have done more than 10 moves). Even with most of the boxes being 'customer pack' nothing broke. Nothing! And no dirt or fabric stains. They took good care of my double bass(!!) and delicate items. Final price was very close to estimate. I wish I'd had these guys on my previous moves.

Not great. Guys were nice and worked hard, but I was not informed until the day of the job that the worker's were reformed drug addicts who were working their way through residential treatment. I did not have a problem with this, I'm all for supporting people who are trying to change their life for the better. My problem was in the quality of the work performed. The guys worked really hard, it wasn't an easy job. Unfortunately, they didn't work smart and didn't pay attention to details. My wife has a number of antique and fragile belongings. We told them repeatedly to be careful with the fragile items, but they didn't seem to pay attention. They ran large items along the wall and broke the thermostat. It took the crew in Orlando 5 hours to load the truck, it took these guys almost that long to unload it. One of the three that showed up was the crew chief, he didn't do anything.

Very good experience but sometimes some of them don't remember everything they are supposed to be doing. A little bit pricey. So far we are willing to pay that, but it is higher than other lawncare services. Punctuality & professionalism is great. We are not sure if we are going to continue to use them. We have too much work to do outside & I don't think they can do everything we need. We need more heavier work done. They are not into design or help with that type of thing. I need a real landscaper person to do that.

Summary: 4 major complaints--late arrival, no truck, no padding, no way of getting to the destination without a caravan at night. Balanced by agreement of the company to take responsibility for damage and effective transport of the item to be moved. Details: I was told to expect a call 30-45 min. before pickup at origin. I called at noon and was told to expect arrival around 3 pm. By 4:30 movers had not arrived nor had we received a call. I called again and had to leave a message for the dispatcher. The dispatcher called my home right back and said 30-45 min. By 6pm movers had still not arrived at the origin. I began calling and just then 3 guys came up to the house from a CAR, not a van. They had understood this was to be an in-house move. Then they got on the phone with the dispatcher and a truck was to be sent out. It arrived around 7:15 but with no padding, contrary to what I had been assured when I booked the company. While the movers were getting ready to take this 250 pound piece of equipment down the L-shaped stairway of this almost new home, I got the dispatcher to agree to have the company take full responsibility if they did any damage. Three of the men, although all relatively thin (i.e., none were muscular types), did a very good job of carefully bringing the equipment down the stairs. They put it on the empty truck and tied it to the walls. None of the movers had a map nor a cell phone and they instructed me to escort the truck and the car in the darkness 40 miles to the Chapel Hill home. The two vehicles followed me successfully, and the movers unloaded it in the garage without incident.
