TROSA Moving

They did a good job with the trees. They did an okay job with the hedges. But they did an unsatisfactory job with cleaning up the debris.

They come on time. They were very inexpensive. There are no scratches on furniture.

I hired TROSA about one week before my anticipated move. Unfortunately, PODS had to change my delivery date (thanks PODS!) but TROSA was able to change their time for my movers to arrive. They called within an hour before arriving, promptly started working, and took only a couple of short, well deserved breaks. They unloaded my 16 foot POD in less than 2 hours. They even set up my bed frame for me and did a bit of rearranging to fit my furniture.

We were happy with their service. It is a non-profit organization. All the money goes toward mental health and substance abuse programs.

They were very very good. The driver came up to me and explained what they were going to do throughout right from wrapping and things. They were cordial. He asked me if I had any questions and made me sign some papers. I said I would use them again. They are amazing people. I believe they were all going through rehabilitation. They made me comfortable and never made me feel nervous. I was worried about my car, they assured me I don't have to worry about anything and that they will fit in everything. Whatever the minimum was, we paid them for the hour; they said it's okay if you want to tip us or not tip us but we have to record if you do and they were just honest, honest, sweet, I like them.

I thought they were very professional and also very thorough. I felt totally comfortable having them move my stuff. They were able to complete my move under their estimated time. They had very well mannered movers.

It's a huge group. I have used them 5 times for moving and they are fantastic. They are the best I ever had. Their big deal is moving but they also do other things. They get lists that they give to be marked by us after they have done what they have done to show the people in charge. They are taken care of and watched very carefully. They do a beautiful job. The price is reasonable. I have never had any problems with them.

They are based on donation. They did everything that was expected. They worked well together even in a very tight space.

They were very professional and detailed, They were willing to go the extra mile for me.

Before moving day, I caught a stomach bug that kept me from being able to fully pack. Knowing this, my family came and packed and moved most of our kitchen so that I could focus on other areas of the house. Still, on the day of moving, some of my bedroom wasn't completely packed. TROSA arrived promptly, and while we were explaining the move, I explained that my main goal was for everything to get to the new house, and if they needed to simply throw my unpacked things into boxes, that would be fine. We had a team of four men total. My roomate and myself have both used professional movers in the past (She had used TROSA, and I had used a college-boys-for-hire service) and once the initial flurry of activity ended, things started to not seem right. Men were walking to the truck with one box (rather than two or three stacked in their arms), one guy would stand for 15 minutes or so waiting for another to help him carry something large, and it just seemed to be going slowly. Since both of us had used professional movers to get into this house, and because we had an estimate, we thought we knew what to expect, and the truck just wasn't getting loaded. When it came time to move my queen bed down the stairs, they came to ask me how to navigate it around a corner. I had college boys move it into the house, and they were able to figure that out quickly. I hire professionals because I don't enjoy trying to figure out those things. My roomate offered to help carry things to the truck, and was told that for insurance purposes she wasn't allowed. Understandable, but it was frustrating. Once we moved to the new house, the team was obviously tired and obviously going to go over the time that was estimated. They claimed that the contents of the house were 1000 pounds more than the estimate. As they got tired, more mistakes were made. A bed that was supposed to go upstairs was taken downstairs. Even more boxes were carried in one-by one, and even though the majority of boxes had a label that said the floor they were to go to, we were asked where to take each and every one. When we realized how far they were going over the estimated and budgetted time, we started to tell them that all the boxes were going in the living room (even though one of the big reasons we hired professionals was that we could get everything at least on the correct floor of the house so that we wouldn't have to carry it up and down stairs). When they came in with the box from my unpacked bedroom, they explained that they needed to empty it, so I asked them to simply take it to the new bedroom and dump the contents on the floor. Later, I went upstairs and they were pulling out the contents one-by one. I said something, and they asked me where I wanted them to put the one particular piece that they had in their hands, and I said to put it on the floor, to put everything on the floor, and stressed that we were hiring them to get the stuff off the truck and we wanted them to be finished, not to unpack and put things away. At some point, they asked for a stepladder, and I provided them with a two-step stepladder. At the end of the move, we had to ask for them to assemble the beds (Which I thought was standard) and I watched as they figured out how to put together the standard metal queen-size bed frame. They had crushed one bookshelf in the moving van, and apologized. After they left, I learned that the step-ladder had also broken. I was very disappointed that the "professional" movers didn't have the adequate equipment and had to borrow, and ruin, ours in the process of loading and unloading their van. In the end, they took one hour off of the total moving time for breaks, but the charges still came in $300 over the estimated price. And we ended up with a very stressful moving day. We did follow up with TROSA and had the charges reduced to the estimated price. Management was very apologetic and thanked us for following up with them. Without the response that we got from them, we would have given an overall grade of "C." There's no way for the management to make something like this "Right" in the middle of the job, so they did the best that they could afterward.

I have used them in the past for moving and so have my family members. On a previous move I also spent around $600.00. They did an excellent job! They wrapped all of the furniture and took care of it, as well. They were very well trained and professional.

Considering how difficult it was the experience was okay. It was a challenging one as they had to move it to the apartment and they worked really hard at it. There were couple of scratches but that wasn’t a major deal. They did a good job and worked very hard.

I could not have asked for a better experience and I have no suggestions for improvement. They were awesome.

The team of 4 men had our furniture out and on the truck within 90 minutes. Everything was well padded and wrapped, they were very careful and very professional. From the day I contacted TROSA to set up the move until the the last item was off the truck and in the house, everything went smoothly. There was not one flaw in the entire process.The cost was very reasonable and the service was exceptional. I highly recommend TROSA and would use the company again should the need arise.

I VERY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TROSA! They are great! I moved about a 2 bedroom house-worth-of stuff from North Carolina to Chicago --- and this company and employees were great. Earlier in the year I had a nightmare move with a different company, so this time around I wasn't taking any chances. I saw Trosa had all great reviews on Angie's list and unlike other movers didn't see any bad comments about them. Moving inter-state is tough, and I was had to move in a hurry, but the estimator came out within a few hours of my phone call --- exactly when promised and gave me a firm price for the move. This was key, b/c so often with interstate movers, they give "estimates" that balloon out of control later, while they hold your items hostage. But Trosa gave me a firm price --- and I wasn't charged a penny more! I had shopped around with my previous move, and must say what Trosa charges is in line with what a move costs. BEWARE: if other movers are quoting you a lot lower than others, be skeptical (I got burned with my earlier move with a different company this way --- they quoted 25% lower than others... then charged me 50% more than they quoted and wouldn't release my possessions until I paid --- in CASH!)But Trosa was great --- the best movers ever --- and they take credit cards --- which is key... and they don't force you to pay the balance before they unload --- something the other companies do --- so you can't hold back money for damages. These guys didn't have any damages, and I paid once they were unloaded (although I would have paid earlier had they asked me, b/c the way they packed my stuff--- any damages would have been fate... and not their fault!) Plus, when they packed and unpacked my items, they were very careful and provided all the quilts and shrinkwrap they needed to do the job at no additional charge (unlike so many other companies). The movers were all courteous to me and to each other, making a usually stress-filled time completely easy. I was amazed at the job they did, and their professionalism and cheerful demeanor thru-out the entire job. Use these guys! They are great --- and after having had nightmares with other movers, Trosa seemed like a dream!

I could not have asked for a better experience. They arrive early on moving day and after a quick walk-thru, they got started. I had paid for (5) people $125/hour. I NEVER thought they'd move things that fast and with that amount of care. Any time there was a question, they'd come find me. I felt bad for them having to walk up/down all the steps carrying furniture, boxes but they didn't seem to mind. It was awesome and I would highly recommend them to anyone with moving needs. Although, make sure you call early as they are a great deal and can fill up quickly.

They were unbelievably professional and on time. They brought plenty of help and plenty of packing. They were phenomenal. If you want to book them you would have to book way in advance as they book up so quickly. It worked out very well.

I don’t remember the price charged by them. We had a good experience. I would certainly recommend them to people. They were reasonably priced and were professional. They were careful with all of our stuff. We had a minor damage, but there was nothing significant. They were careful with how they wrapped everything. I like that when you are doing the moving services with them, you are supporting a good cause by helping people get their lives back together. It’s like getting the lives back on track for the people who have been in rehab.

I really liked their punctuality. They did pretty well, and there was nothing really that they could have done better. They moved my stuff, and nothing was broken. Their price was reasonable. I would use them again in the future if necessary.

The man who came and did the estimate was very friendly, but they didn't get back to me with the estimate for over a month. They e-mailed us an overall estimate when I had asked for a breakdown of all the different things so that we could prioritize which projects could happen. I think they got back to us a week later but it took over a month to get an actual breakdown.

They were courteous, prompt, professional. It was probably the most painless move I have ever made.

We called Trosa to aerate our lawn and they quickly gave us a time. They came out on time and did the work professionally and quickly. Would definitely consider using them again.

I spent about $100 for their services. The person who was installing my appliances had highly recommended them. They were definitely prepared and they brought their own tools. They protected my furniture and my floor. I was very happy with what they did and how conscientious they were. They were good. I was their first appointment that morning and my move was perfect. I had no issues. My personal experience was wonderful and I would use them again. However, I would always schedule them in the morning based on what my neighbors told me.
