Deceptive Business I asked for a quote for the job and accepted that quote from Jonathan only to get a text four days later when the job was partially done wanting to know if I had signed a contract. When I answered no I received another text advising me that the price would be over twice what I was quoted. The main reason I asked for a quote was because a quote is an agreed fixed price while an estimate is an approximate price that may change. When I asked for the quote, I put in the text to Jonathan that I wanted an accurate quote so there would be no price change. In Johnathan’s text to increase the price he stated that “pictures you sent were not accurate they should have been taking individually the price is a quoted price” As stated above I asked for a quote before the job was started and nothing was said after the employees came to the property and saw firsthand what the job entailed. Johnathan included in the contract “Owner/operator remarks: the pictures that were provided to company email, or phone should have been more accurate and more detailed about debris, limb and stump pickup, please provide more accurate details, or request on site estimate so there are no discrepancies with pricing.” This is four days later with his workers at my house and after the quote. As a customer it would be Jonathan’s responsibility as manager to make a site visit before the quote if he thought the pictures were not what he needed to quote a price. I did accept the price and signed the contract. Five days later after the job was finished, I wrote a check and gave it to the employee. The next day I get a text from the manager, the employee and this woman who claims to be the owner that I need to change the name on the check from the business name to the owner’s name. When I refused then the threats started by text. The next day at 9 AM I received a phone call from a woman claiming to be the owner ranting about payment. She finally told me I could pay through Home Advisor and I agreed to pay. At 9:23 AM I received a payment request through Home Advisor. At 4 PM I got a text from another telephone number claiming to be the owner saying that she had notified Home Advisor of failure of payment and per my contract I had 7 days from the completion of service to pay before they pursue legal action. At no time was I ever told I needed to pay in cash, and I feel like there was more than a reasonable amount of time from when the job was started and when the job was finished to advise me of what type of payment they accepted. I went online at 6:25 pm and made the payment in full through Angi. At 6:39 PM I get a text from the manager telling me I have 7 days to pay the bill. At this point I am not sure who is who but per the contract “Payment shall be made to Provider in the total amount of $270.00 upon completion.” The contract I signed was between myself and All Sides Moving & Storage and signed by J. Hackney of Puryear Movers. I have made payment in full to the provider through Angie. I am not accustomed to this type of business dealing and do not appreciate the way this company does business. As a customer this has left me with an uneasy feeling and considering everything that has transpired and the fact that there are so many names and so many companies involved. I would not recommend this company to anyone.
