They were great- coming out and spending the time necessary to evaluate our property without charging anything.

Having built several pools in Florida over the years we were prepared for the worst. We were expecting delay, delay, delay, change after change, numerous extra charges, and phone calls not returned. This was a totally different experience. It was a major project since it was built on a relatively steep incline and required extensive retaining walls, hence the high cost. However, it was a totally different experience than in Florida. There were NO delays, no extra charges except for changes we requested, and few of them. The vast majority of calls were answered when made and those that weren't were returned within the hour. Each stage of the process had a person in charge who could ALWAYS be reached. Every person we dealt with was professional and respectful. We would highly recommend Superior to anyone in North Carolina building a poo, especially in difficult situations such as is the norm on lakefront properties in the area.

They installed a beautiful inground pool.They were more than professional.They met all my needs and some.I,m handicapped and they made sure they accomidated me. Everyone, from the owner Peter,to the secretary, Kathy,to the design guy,Eric were right there for me.John the constrution supervisor was always available to answer questions and solve any problems. I would highly recommend Suprerior Pools to anyone who wants a great job done. Thanks guys.

All the folks that I had contact at the superior pool and spa, from the first phone call to the estimate process and the actual work were very professional and dedicated to what they do. They did exactly what they promised in the time frame they had promised. I actually signed up for their maintenance as well. Highly recommended.

We contracted to have the pool installed. The design we chose was discontinued. When the sales manager came to have us pick a new design he said he thought we should have a soil test as our lot is very rocky. In doing so they discovered heavy granite just 12 inches down. That would increase the cost of digging considerably. We chose not to buy the pool based on the new cost. They were more than fair and gave us our whole deposit back.

Four years ago, my husband and I began the process of creating our backyard oasis. We had several pool builders out to give us ideas and estimates. Our decision to work with Superior Pools was an easy one. Peter gave us a clear estimate, a fair price, and honest advice on the project. He also gave us time to finalize the plans without pressure. Our build began in January 2010. Every single day of the next three months was a stressful one! However, Peter answered every phone call and calmed every nerve. Never once were we made to feel silly or stupid for asking simple questions or expressing concerns. Clearly, Peter and his team had handled many first time pool owners over the years. The quality of workmanship was impeccable every step of the way. Each worker from the foreman to the subcontractors had a knowledge of pool building which came through in the final product. Our pool and backyard turned out more beautiful than we even imagined. It truly is an oasis that we will enjoy for many years to come! Throughout the last three years, Peter continues to be available to us. We continue to have questions and are still learning the ins and outs of pool ownership. Each call is returned and each concern is addressed with a smile. My husband and I highly recommend Peter Johnson and Superior Pools.

After five days passed since our call - we had not heard back from the company. I called again. The receptionist didn't really apologize, but seemed concerned we hadn't heard from anybody. I had to answer all of the questions again and was told - as before - that a rep would be in touch. I did not receive a call that day or the next. If I can't even get a call back - I don't see trusting these folks to dig a very large hole in my back yard.

I had a positive experience with them. They seemed very attentive and interested in getting the bid for the project. They are very eager to work with us. We are on the basic process like having design ideas, getting the permits and approval for the project to actually start around the middle of May. They were helpful in organizing the papers to be submitted. As a matter of fact, their project manager hand delivered the packet to the HOA company in person.

We are considering building a pool next year and wanted to speak with at least three companies before making a decision. My original review stated that this company did not respond to me after being contacted 3 times. When the owner, Peter, saw that review he called immediately and assured me that they have no record of being contacted by me and apologized for any confusion. We now have an appointment in two weeks for him to personally come out and look at our backyard. Although we have not done business with this company at this time, I do very much appreciate Peter's prompt attention once he was aware of the situation and I look forward to meeting him. :-)

From the time they dug the pool to the finished work, our project manager Buddy made us feel very comfortable. He was great in explaining everything and making sure that everything was done perfectly. I have watched the build process EVERY day and made sure EVERYTHING was done perfect... They also took great care of my yard and did their best to do the least amount of damage to my existing yard. The pool was constructed PERFECTLY!!! Peter and Buddy did a great job and we could not be happier... Not only does the pool look great, but it is also very well built. Peter is very hands on, and would come out to the house many times to walk through everything and to make sure we were satisfied.

Joe came to the house, checked the yard, took measurements and then created a computer image of our kidney shaped pool with a hot tub waterfalling into it. The pool is a salt water pool. Joe committed to his personal involvement from start to finish and there after as needed. The sub contractors used varied in work quality. The electricians and plumber he sub contracted were professional and neat. The stone mason that installed the coping and stack stone on the hot tub appeared to have done a great job, however 1 year later there are cracking issues and stone that sounds hollow when taped indicating they will soon come loose. The sub contractor that shot the gunite again appeared to have done a good job. The color did not look good and again a year later there is evidence of the gunite being to thin and rusting rebar stains appearing on the bottom of the pool The "Quote" clean up crew at jobs end were pigs and left concrete, rebar and other debris mixed in and on top of areas to be landscaped with gardens and sod Superiors own employees on the job were unprofessional, sloppy and in one case only interested in checking out the young girls in the pool area. Isues included the incorrect installation of the slide. In this case the slide is still not correctly done and the original stainless steel nuts and bolts were replaced with standard nuts and bolts which rusted into the pool The issue that will keep anyone from buying a pool from them is the final color which was nowhere near the selection we made and is best described as a painting that got rained on and the colors are smeared and running down the walls. Initially Joe said this was the gunnite curring and it would take 4 to 6 weeks to completely cure. Repeated calls about the color of the pool stopped being responded to by Joe. Update: 8/26/12 - I live in the Northstone subdivision.Superior Pools insatlled my pool 2 years ago, I made a negative report two years ago. Pete from Superior Pools called in early July 2012 because one of his customers read my reoport on Angies list. He said he wanted to come and correct the problems I noted in my original report. He has not showed up and attempts to call his cell phone number do not get any response. This pool company continues to have the poorest follow up of any organiztion I have ever dealt with I intend to take this to the BBB Update 11/01/2012 - On or about 9/4/12 Superior Pools shows up and even though I tell him repeatedly that the color has been like this since the installation he says that poor chemical maintainence caused the discoloration and he and his plaster company agree that an acid wash will solve the problem and make it look new. They comit to absorb the cost of the acid wash and I agree if the acid wash works i will split the cost of the water refill. I additionally tell them they can not start until the end of September. 10/12/2012 ACID WASH DOES NOTHING TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE. They allege they have never seen anything like this and continue to try figuring out how I or we (my landscaper, my fertilizing of my flower beds) could have done this! 10/15/2012 Replaster is completed, pool is refilled and curing of color begins. Color looks good at this point. Salt will be added on 11/05/2012 and i will post an update. At this time we see none of the evidence observed of poor color when the pool was originally installed and agree to replaster the pool at there exxpense
