Description of Work: I have 8 wood empty palettes and some empty boxes to haul for cleaning the garage. It was an easy job. Nothing bad at all. But I cancelled it, because I was waiting and my garage was really in need. I had no news, so I was very scared. They just said a Thank you after my purchase but no follow-up. It has been like that with so many companies this Summer, maybe 10 or 15. Not only from Angie List , some really big names also that I will not tell. And I want to pay, I am a lady who is friendly. I just need some help sometimes because my husband is always working and the cleaning and landscaping is not his hobby. But in Quebec, where I am from, it is so much beautiful during the Summertime and they are not allowed to use weedkillers and they have to follow rules for watering their grass. But here, we have the chance to have beautiful trees and a big variety of natives plants and now this is the time to make some transitions and put away the grass a little and also the mowers and blowers that perfume our air with so much gas and noise. But since 4 months now, the neighbords saw me working like a crazy woman. So I almost did a xeriscaping by myself and I am very exhausted; only 2 cies came. But I was in need of more; many landscaping cies never follow up because if you want to add a new idea to your project, they are no more interested and run away. Money is money . Strange...I almost spend $10,000.00 this Summer and guest what my HOA sent me a letter two weeks ago for stopping my work. So we wrote a letter and asked them a derogation ( we have multiple arguments). They accepted at one condition; they want me to remove the nice classy stones (almost 200@ 2 pounds each and $1.68/stone + shipping ) that I putted myself around some hedges because they are dangerous they said. And I made that to be cleaner for everyone and for not using the weedkillers close the driveway that we need to use almost everyday. People stopped to tell me how it is beautiful and so different than everyone else. People wants to do the same. There is a need for that, do you see it? Tonight, I was starting to remove that stone and crying at the same time. Some nice walkers and my neighbords wanted to stop me and ask to the HOA to come and see how it is pretty. My goal was to change my traditionnel landscaping to stop to use weed killers and fertilizers that I was using to much because our community is infested by weeds, bermuda grass,etc. and I do not like that. My project was to remove all this crap and put an anti-weed fabric on my lawn and get rid of the grass (malediction!), adding some autumn and brilliant sedums, yucca, blue fescue grass, angelina sedum,blue sage, distyllum, duke gardens, clarissa hollies, boxwoods, ornamentals grass, thyme eventually and pine mini-nuggets and I am not talking about the backyard. I am working on this project since 4 months hearing all the times mowers and blowers. I prefer the birds song! It is so much nicer. I do not want to use weedkillers since I had a severe non-hodking lymphoma brain (NCS) cancer in 2014-2015 because of that. We have to think about our environment, our health,our children, our animals, our pollenisaters and air. We have to stop to uses fertilisants (it is in French; sorry). Our planet is suffering and we are responsible. There is a solution, I am sure. Being more green is the future. The HOA rules must be updated; they should give the exemple. They should be the pioneer in Charlotte and should be proud of that ; this community will be more healthy and more attractive to many people. Also I can walk in my street Tomorrow morning and take photos probably 10 or more where their rules are not respected and they do not do anything like the trash cans on the side of the house without any hiding, this is so so disgraceful, weeds weeds and dead trees and dead bushes. Trees and bushes are the more important elements in your landscaping, they should be watered too; the grass is always to redo every half-season here because there is no grass that can stand our transitionnel zone and it is becoming warmer and warmer. During the Summer, our community looks like a war zone; the bermuda grass is not nice either. The only green lawn are the ones with the weeds and when you are driving, you think well this is not bad... I should write that on a forum I know but I want to sensibilise someone that do not read this kind of article. Sorry for that but sometime you have to say what you thing. My goal is to reduce the grass, plant more ecofriendly plants ( asking less water and heat resistant) and mixing that with our beautiful hollies. Is is conscious, no? This of course is my personal experience. The company is for nothing responsable of this reflection. I apologize for that. They are probably a good company, but i will never know.
