Terminix - Charlotte -Termite & Pest Control

We have had an ant problem for many years. I told my husband that there was no way that we were ever going to get rid of the ants because I did not want them to spray in the house. They came out and did the terminate inspection and they said that they found 30 active ant colonies on our landscaping bed and they were able to do something to get the ants to move further away and it took care of the problem. We used them before to treat our house for termites when we were livening in Dallas and they repaired the damage, so we that they would be the right company to use. The first treatment did not cure the ant problem, so called them and they came back and within a week or so the ant problem was gone. They were very persistent about it and again it is a lot nice not to have an ant in the house. The technicians came out when it was hot and they were both nice and worked so hard.

They are pretty good, but it is expensive. They have definitely improved over some of their previous work. Some of the things that bothered me doesn't happen anymore. I always ask them to let me know when they are coming, they didn't before. Now they don't come unless they let me know. They are prompt.

We have an annual contract for termite inspection. They not only check for termites but rodents too. We had installed bait traps that they set monthly or every six weeks. One department maintains those and another one does the interior and exterior of the home to keep the house free from insects or rodents. A couple of years ago they had come out to rid the property off hornets and so forth. They had to make two additional trips to our house to get rid of those pests. We also have an annual inspection of our property and particularly under the house to make sure that there is a good ventilation system under there and that it is dry. We are using Terminex because one of our neighbors was using their service. The inspectors call me to set up appointments. The only contract that we do have is the contract where it was designed how they would install the baiting system for termites. We would make a final payment on that upon completion. They call us each year to renew our contract. They have female pest control inspectors too who come over. I feel secure and safe with them, and they have been excellent. They are extremely professional and there are supervisors who have been with them for long and those who have moved up the ladder. These people supervise the work of the juniors. Once we had our house inspected by someone who wasn?t doing his job well as he was lazy. I had called up the supervisor then and he had given the inspector one more chance. My experience with them has been excellent.

I liked Terminix better than the competitors. I think they were more affordable at the time. They are really good about coming back if they need to. Steve Smith comes out often and he understands about dogs. He actually calls for reminders.

They are very reliable and professional. It was $1790 for the termites and it was $80 for the carpenter ants. I am very pleased with their service.

I have not faced any problems with Terminix, and I get the same technician each time. He comes and does his job, and if I am not there, he leaves a message for me along with the bill. All the baits are checked every quarter and they let me know if there is any infestation. They are very responsive and the quality of work is excellent. I will continue using their services.

I had a contract with Mantis Pest Control (Mantis was subsequently purchased by Terminix). The contract was to service an apartment at 1218 N. Caldwell St, Charlotte, NC 28206. This condo was occupied by a tenant. The agreement was that the condo would be treated for pests every 3 months. The contract was initiated in early 2008. The first service took place on 02/25/08. The second service took place on 04/25/08. At this point the ant problem had been resolved. In addition, the HOA took over the responsibility of pest control and so the contract was terminated with Mantis Pest Control in May 2008. As a result of the contract termination, no further services were performed at this property. Sometime during this period Terminix bought Mantis Pest Control. In December, my tenant called with a huge ant infestation. I in turn called the HOA who asked me to schedule an appointment since it was in the middle of the Christmas holidays. On 12/29/08, 8 months after the contract was terminated, I called Mantis/Terminix for a once off service to take care of the ant infestation. The problem was taken care of, I paid for the service and the HOA reimbursed me. Then on 3/20/09 Terminix performed another service at the apartment. I did not request this service, nor did I request the contract be reinstated when I called for a service in December. I have sent them 2 letters (5/5/09 and 5/20/09) and have talked to 2 different people over the phone. I have explained that the contact was terminated in May 2008 and that they have no right to continue servicing the apartment without my approval and then billing me for it. I have not paid for the service performed on 3/20/09 and they are about to turn it over to a collection agency. I don?t believe I am liable for this service since I did not request it and had no contract with Terminix at the time. Teminix argue they have no proof that the contract was terminated. I don?t know what happened to the termination letter I sent to Mantis but based on the fact that no-one serviced the apartment from 04/25/08 until I called on 12/29/09 is a pretty good indication that they knew the contract had been terminated. Even after the letters and phone calls, Terminix attempted to service the apartment again on 06/1/09. Fortunately my tenant has moved out, so they could not get into the apartment.

Sean was very professional and knowledgeable - even though some of house was inaccessible they were able to give 1-yr guarantee with disclaimer, and did a super thorough job.

They were punctual and responsive. Their prices were a little bit expensive for what they did, but they were worth it. We were satisfied with their service. They have a good reputation and we have used them for years. We don't have termites, but if we do, they would stand behind it. We would recommend them to other people. We didn?t have any problems with them.

They do everything for us concerned with extermination. They come once a month to check each termite station.

I had a contract with Mantis that I canceled in August 2008. After Terminix bought Mantis, they kept calling and insisted that I still have a contract with Terminix and they wanted to schedule service. I told them I canceled the contract in September 2008, October 2008(twice)and again today, January 16, 2009. Clearly Terminix has no intention of honoring the prior cancellation of the contract. Seriously-I've been through this 4 times now. No one makes the same mistake this many times accidentally.

Dependable, fast service, and very courteous.

We have used this company for many years, but since they have branched off the service seems to have fallen off. We have never had any problems with the insects.

They do a really good job. They are very responsive. They will take care of any emergency issues outside of the regularly scheduled sprays at no extra charge. They will come out when they say they are going to.

I think they go above and beyond. They generally don't do flying insects, but I had some bees and she took care of those as well. Very pleased with their work.

They do the outer perimeter of the house contractually every 3 or 4 months. One down side is that a couple of times I have felt they've tried to sell me termite products when I haven't had any termite issues. I have a contract with them already and feel a bit pressure to buy more.

No problems - they do excellent work.

We have used them for about 15 years now. We are satisfied with the results. We do have them spray for pest control. They always do call before they come. They do a really good job of keeping the ant problems under control, which are a problem in our area. They also give us good ideas on things that we can do. If I call about a certain problem, they say they will bring something for that particular problem the next time that they come.

George is always right on time and is very professional and courteous.

Overall, I was pleased with Mantis. They were very professional, with an automated phone call prior to each appointment, and a brief overview of services performed if I was home during the treatment (being home wasn't necessary unless you wanted an interior treatment done as well - although being home allowed me to open the garage doors so they could treat in the garage as well as the rest of the exterior). I still had regular visits from spiders and bees on my back deck, but my property is surrounded by woods and very few ever got indoors. The only reason I cannot necessarily recommend Mantis to future guests is they were bought out by Terminix in September 2008. I don't have anything positive or negative to say yet about Terminix, just that Mantis apparently no longer exists in the same form it did before. So far, Terminix has failed to call me back a few times as their buyout of Mantis hit during the same time period that my contract was running out. This could be due to transition issues, but its my only interaction with the new company so far.

I just have a contract from them for pest control. And they do a very good job. I am always pleased with their work, and always have been and I'll keep using them.

As far as I can tell they did a good job with the initial service. They were on time and very curtious. He explained what he was doing. he Very considerate that i am sensitive to odors and that I have dogs so they were very careful when they were in the house.

They've been excellent! They have been on time, given us good service, and gotten the job done.

They come out right away when we call them. They are very good. They take care of everything. We have never had any problems with them. We see good results.

They are good about being on time, and letting us know when to expect them. They never leave a mess, the technicians are always professional. We usually do have the same technician visit.
