Queen City Painting

Ron came by to provide an estimate and later his crew painted the entire interior of the house prior to our move in. His communication is excellent and he was great to work with. His crew of 10 was able to complete our entire house in one day! We definitely rec'd Queen City Painting Co. and will use them in the future.

What an amazing crew Ron has working for him, especially his foreman, Danny. Danny managed a crew of 9 and sets high expectations leading by example. This was a huge expenditure for me and therefore I have high quality expectations. They all worked very hard to ensure I was fully satisfied with everything before accepting payment. The house looks amazing and I have received several positive remarks from my neighbors as well. I would certainly use Queen City Painting again for future work.

The project went extremely well. A crew of 12 men showed up when scheduled and completed all the work in one day. I have to admit that I was concerned with quality when Ron told me they would get all of this done in one day but we trusted the reviews on Angie's List and pulled the trigger. Around 4:00 p.m Ron called and said they were ready for a walk through. Our fears were put to rest when we walked through the front door. The house looked awesome. The quality of the job was excellent and I have yet to find any paint on the newly refinished hardwoods. We are very pleased.

The owner Ron responded promptly to my inquiry for a quote. He was able to start painting within a week of giving the quote which was a reasonable price and got the job done in 1 day. The painting crew was able to get the job done quickly with out sacrificing quality. The quality of the work was excellent and Ron came to inspect the work before the crew left. I would definitely use Queen City Painting in the future.

Ron showed up with his crew leader promptly at 8:30 and walked through the house with him and me. I think he just wanted to make sure the right colors went to the right places but I was happy he came by so there was no mistake and he showed the outside part. Its not a big house so he had everything done that day which was awesome. Must easier than chasing kids around away from home for a few days. Ron stopped by to inspect when they were finished, found some slight areas for more attention. The work looked incredible. I got a call the next day from him to make sure we were pleased. That was a nice touch. We will call them first the next time we need work done. Maybe our fence next year.

I reached out to Queen City Painting because my neighbor and her friend have used them and are very extremely happy with them.I saw my neighbors house and it was gorgeous. She said Ron even came by for a color consultation and put together a beautiful plan based on the color tones that she liked. I purchased a home in South Charlotte and needed everything painted inside and out. I collected a couple quotes but selected Queen City because of the price, reputaion and because of the time Ron spent with me to explain the process and put together a color plan for me. The process was truly amazing. They showed up on time the first day to tackle the interior. They spent the entire 1st half of the day just doing prep work. Everything was covered with drop cloths and paper and lights and cabinets were wrapped in plastic. They spackled all of the cracks and holes. There was a large crew of maybe 9 guys and they all seemed to have a task. By the end of that day all of the trim and ceilings were painted. The second day they were on time and painted all of the walls and cleaned up. I was surprised to see grown men on the floor cleaning any dust that was left behind. The inside was fabulous. The exterior was basically just windows and wood trim. They pressure washed one day and came back the next day to paint. They showed up on time, sealed everything up and prepped very nicely. The painting was great. In both cases they didn't take any money up front, I walked around for a thorough inspection. I found one very minor touch up where a piece of tape was covering some trim and they happily resolved it. This was such a great experience! I am happy I found this company. Everyone was great, hard working and spoke English. No language barriers! I really felt like they were looking out for me. 2 thumbs up from me!

After using Queen City Painting for some interior painting last year and being very pleased with them, we decided to use them to pressure wash and stain our deck. The FACTS are: August, 2012 ? Ron came to our house and left a quote in the front door. We were not home. He priced the deck with an alternate to ?pressure wash and stain front gate? in addition to the deck. I called Ron in early June to see if his price was still good and that we would like to proceed with the job. At that time we also discussed using a semi-transparent stain instead of clear. We scheduled the job. June 14 - He sent someone to do the pressure washing. Upon arriving home, the job was horrible. It was obvious the person using the pressure washer did not have experience or training because the deck was covered in streaks where the pressure was either applied too heavily or they were not directly the pressure appropriately (see photos). I called Ron and he sent someone to re-do it on Saturday. This time it looked much better. The staining was scheduled for the following Friday. The overall job looked good. There were a few spots that didn?t look like the stain was applied evenly, but we understood that could be an issue from the beginning so we didn?t really worry about that. I told Ron we were pleased and he offered to not charge us for the ?pressure wash and stain front gate? for the inconvenience we had with the pressure washing. I agreed. Two days later when my husband was working in the yard, he noticed that they didn?t stain the front (double) gate, but they did stain a smaller (single) gate on the other side of the house that you don?t even see from the street. It is essentially hidden amongst the trees. Communication with Ron failed miserably because he kept making excuses and insisting that I never pointed out the other fence, but yet I wasn?t even home when he priced the job. More importantly, he didn?t even get it ? the fence he quoted wasn?t done and the fence he said he didn?t even know existed was done. He then said that he gave me semi-transparent stain instead of clear at no additional cost. A price difference was also NEVER discussed. I am disgusted with his lack of supervising jobs (as they did on the interior painting) and making the excuse of being ?too busy or out of town so I could not supervise?. Running a business means you or someone you trust supervises all jobs no matter how small to keep your customers satisfied. Use these guys at your own risk but make sure everything is spelled our clearly before the job is started. Since we received no leftover stain, we?ll go buy a gallon and finish the job ourselves.

Ron and his team were great to work with. From the initial contact, Ron was very responsive. He came out to give an estimate and gave recommendations on which type of paint would be best for us. On painting day, his team arrived right on time and completed the job in about 7 hours (other companies told us the job would take 2 or more days). After they were done, they took time to go over their work with us and fix any spots that needed touch-ups. Despite that, we still noticed a few more spots later that evening that needed touch-ups. We contacted Ron and he sent someone out the next day to fix everything. It is really appreciated that they went the extra mile to make sure we were happy and satisfied with the job! We would definitely use Queen City Painting in the future.

If it is possible, Queen City made an exterior painting project fun. They gave us full flexibility on what colors we wanted and wanted to make sure that they were very clear as to what we wanted painted. We were kept well informed during the entire process and their professionalism was top rate. They checked in with us on the day of the job to make sure we were happy with the process and that everything was to our liking. Overall, I would definitely recommend Queen City Painting. The quality of their work along with their highly competitive pricing made this an easy choice for us!

After getting a few quotes and talking with different people about cost and what was needed I thought they were he most professional team of the people I spoke with. They showed up on time, did more work then agreed with (at not cost) and made the process very easy. I would use them again.

Everything went as promised and planned.

When I contacted Ron for an estimate he came to my house within a few days. He did a walk through and gave me an immediate estimate. He was able to do the work within a week. I was shocked to learn that the all the painting would be completed in one day. A crew of 7 and Ron arrived on the appointed day. Ron did a walk through with the foreman discussing, in detail, exactly what was to be done. They worked diligently and had all work completed and cleaned up within 61/2 to 7 hours. The foreman and I did a final walk through. There was one place that needed to be touched up and one of the guys did so immediately. Within 45 min. after everyone left, Ron called to check on my satisfaction with the work. I would not hesitate to recommend Queen City Painting. They were professional, courteous, thorough, and cheerful. The completed job is wonderful.

They were at the house about 0800 Monday morning and worked till about 1900 that evening. The downstairs and garage are about 2600 square feet. They repaired all nail pops, seams, nail holes, and other wall damage. They painted the walls on the foyer, living room, mater bedroom, sun room and kitchen. They painted all of the trim and doors of the first floor. They painted all of the kitchen cabinets. The garage needed a lot of repairs and paint. The powder room needed two glass shelves removed and the walls repaired and painted. They did a wonderful job, Ron MacMillan the owner was there off and on all day and in contact with us and the site supervisor. We will for sure use them to do the upstairs when we are ready. Great job, great bunch of guys! Very hard workers!!!

Ron communicated promptly and often during the process. He was onsite both of the painting days, and his foreman for the 9-person crew was excellent. The crew was polite and focused on the job. Ron solicited comments after the job was completed to be sure that everything was done to my satisfaction. I will definitely use this painting company again!!!

Queen City came out to give us an estimate. They were the middle range price wise but we like Ron overall above the lower priced options. Communication was very good and they showed up on time. The painters did an excellent job overall, and except for one drip that we found on the master bedroom carpet, there was no other issues. We were very happy with them and will use them again in the future.

The entire process was A+ from start to finish. We aren't picky, but we do have high expectations for companies to do a good job and Ron and his company were on the ball the entire time. Ron showed up on time for the estimate (that is usually a problem with some vendors just out of the gate). Price was really good for what we were having done. We like that they use high grade paint from Sherwin Williams. Ron explained exactly what was going to be done and when. He schedule a pressure wash of the entire house for one day and then the carpentry work on another and then the painting on two back to back days. Ron always keep us updated and his supervisor Danny was constantly updating during the project and especially on the day of the painting. The entire crew was friendly and hard working. They cleaned-up all the stuff to better than it was previously. Both Ron and Danny did multiple inspections of the work after it was completed and fixed and touched up several places. We are going to use them for interior work next and our neighbor next door has already asked about hiring them for stuff they have. I don't believe anyone will go wrong with these guys.

Ron was able to fit me in the same week he did the estimate due to a cancellation. His crew arrived on time and all of the work was completed as specified in a single day. Everything was put back the way they found it. All socket covers and switch plates were replaced. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. The paint looks absolutely fabulous! I felt like I was walking into a new home. I will definitely use them for future projects.

Ron responded to my request for an estimate quickly and set up the job within a week. A 5-person crew showed up to do the work and finished in 5-1/2 hours. As they were reviewing the job, they noticed water damage from the palladium window, and went outside to caulk it to prevent further damage. I have a large plant in the entryway that reaches to the second-floor ceiling. I thought I'd have to lose the plant because it covered part of the wall, but the crew insisted that they could move it out of the way and move it back. Keeping that plant was an unexpected bonus! Overall, the results were excellent, quick and professional.

Ron was great from the very beginning. I wasn't sure about the colors I wanted and he offered to help me choose. He also made sure I understood exactly what was going to happen when the popcorn ceiling was removed (lots of dust) so I wouldn't be surprised at the end of the process. His crew was fantastic and made sure everything was all cleaned up when they were finished. I couldn't be happier with the outcome!

The owner, Ron--very professional, friendly and sincerely cares that his team does a good job. I have a 4600 sq ft home ( they didn't paint all of it, but most) with 20 ft ceilings... 16 guys showed up punctually and had two coats of paint done in 8 hours. All the workers were friendly and respectful of my home. I would highly recommend this company and will definitely use them again. No need to get other estimates, Ron beat every estimate I got and could offer me more. I wanted my house painted in 1 day, not over the span of a week. He and his team did a phenomenal job.

We wanted to have our house painted, so I checked Angie's List for possibilities. I read many reviews, but one thing that set Ron's apart were his responses to the customers' comments. I called and made an appointment for Ron to come on November 7 to see our house and to talk about what needed to be done. He was very punctual, which I really appreciated. We walked around the house discussing areas of concern. Ron made suggestions about how to make some needed repairs, taking notes on what we decided. He asked about our time frame for getting the job done. When I said we would like it done before Thanksgiving if possible, he said that would work for him. (I was completely amazed at that!). The next day Ron emailed a quote for the job, detailing exactly what would be done and specifying what materials would be used for each part of the job. My husband was a bit skeptical about the plan to paint the gutters and the garage door, so he called Ron to discuss that. Ron assured him that the paint used for those areas was appropriate for that purpose, and that they needed to be painted in order for the house to look its best. My husband checked with the gutter manufacturer to make sure that paint would not interfere with the proper function of the gutter, and was surprised to find out that painting the lip that the rain runs over would void the warranty. So, that part of the gutter was not painted, but the rest of it and the garage door were. The garage door and the gutter look terrific, just as Ron said they would! Obviously, we contracted with Ron to paint our house. He called me a number of times just to check in or to clarify something. I was very impressed with his hands-on approach. He was keeping an eye on weather forecasts in order to schedule the pre-painting activities. On Saturday before Thanksgiving a man came to pressure wash the house. He was thorough and efficient. On Monday, a man came to spray the liquid mask on the windows. (That stuff is a miracle product!). On Tuesday Ron, Danny ( the job supervisor), and 10 painters arrived about 8:30 AM--right on time. We did another walk-around, with Ron advising Danny of what was going to be done. Then each man got right to work doing his specific job. The whole thing was orchestrated perfectly. The men obviously enjoyed doing their jobs well; they took pride in what they did. Danny was a joy to work with! He is very personable and does an excellent job of supervising a large crew. The crew members respect him. Ron called a couple times during the day to see how things were going. I always had a positive report! By the end of the day--about 5:00 PM--our house was just gorgeous! The men cleaned up after themselves, packed up their tools, and got ready to leave. As it turned out, two of the painters were the ones who had done the per-painting activities. They were pleased that I had told Ron what a good job they had done. Ron called for one last check-in and to arrange payment. He said that if there was anything we were dissatisfied with, they would fix it. We have been well-satisfied with the new look to our home. A number of neighbors have complimented it. They all were amazed at the hard-working crew that descended upon our house and did such a magnificent job in just one day. Several have asked for the name of the company, which I happily gave to them.

Ron was very helpful in advising me on paint color choices, as I wanted to update my condo to put on the market. He had a crew of 10 people working on my condo,and all the work was finished in one day-a real bonus. They really worked hard, as they had to spend a lot of time sanding many rough spots & repairing settlement cracks before painting.The workers were all very pleasant and kept everything neat from start to finish. I am very pleased with the results.
