Queen City Painting

Unfortunately when I tried to set up a time for a quote the owner was unwilling to come out on a weekday evening after 5:00 pm; however he lists his hours on this site until 8:00 pm. I asked about his weekend hours, but was told he is not available even though he lists Saturday and Sunday hours as well. We were looking to have our entire townhouse painted.

They were professional and very helpful. They came to my house and have me a quote on Same day. But unfortunately we couldn't use them .

Owner, Ron provided me with a prompt quote (with $1000 off coupon) of $3395 back in October of 2013 to paint my full interior of 2500 sqft, minus the dining room, laundry room, closets and stairway spokes. So, basically the quote was for a 2000 sqft area. This quote included the painting of the high ceilings, all trim and one door. Ron was very pleasant, showed up on time and was thorough walking through each room and making great suggestions on adding color to specific rooms. We talked about the loose drywall tape on the ceilings and in the corners because they needed to be reapplied/repaired. We talked for a few minutes about a specific area in the kitchen were the ceilings are high and a section where 12? of drywall tape was very loose and quite unsightly. He commented that he had quickly noticed it as well as I mentioned it was one of the main reasons I wanted the house painted. I was having exterior construction on the house done and needed that work completed before Ron could begin, because it would impact the entry way of the house where Ron would paint. He was aware of that. The cold weather prevented the exterior work from being competed in 2013, so I informed Ron I really wanted him to do the work and would reach out in the spring of 2014 when the work was done, I contacted Ron in May 2014 to begin the work. He said he needed to give me another quote because the cost of petroleum and labor had increased. I said I understood. He came out the second time and again was pleasant, did a thorough walk-through and provided me with a prompt quote of $3687. I did ask him to include the stairway spokes in the quote because I had not realized they were not included in the initial quote. Otherwise, no additional work was added to the quote. Ron came out to do the work with his crew on a Friday, which he anticipated would be one day and perhaps part of the next day ? Saturday. I was ok with that as well. As his crew was waiting on the driveway, and the paint cans were on the porch, he came in with his Supervisor to walk him through the work. Ron seemed a bit disorganized, as he read from his quote sheet and mentioned that a bathroom wasn?t included in the job. I said he quoted me on it ? he double-checked his list and confirmed it was included. He then mentioned an upstairs room was not included in the quote. I said yes, it was included. He double-checked his list again and corrected himself. It was included. He then said he would paint over the screws he asked us to leave in the walls so they would know where not to fill holes. I reminded him that a week earlier we had an email conversation about that as well, because we did not want ?paint drips? around the nails. He had said then, the painters would remove the nails, paint over the hole and then replace the nail to prevent this. On the day of the job, he said that they only removed ?nails? not ?screws.? He said there was more ?mud? work then he had anticipated and was concerned he could not finish in one day. He didn?t want the guys to have to work on Saturday, since they do not normally work on Saturday. The Supervisor then noticed the loose 12? strip of drywall tape in the high kitchen ceiling and said they had no way of reaching it for repair. The two of them had some one on one dialogue outside about it and Ron came back and said he would try to come up with a solution. I said if they couldn?t fix it, that I would not have incomplete work done. The entire situation was very professional at all times, although disappointing, especially since I had taken a day off from work for the painting. They considered a scaffold but thought it might damage the hardwood floors. I mentioned my neighbor had the exact same house, with the same loose kitchen drywall tape and had his home painted two weeks ago without an issue. I even brought the Supervisor over to the neighbor?s house to see how it was done, while the crew was waiting on the driveway. Ron and team couldn?t figure it out, so he apologized and I thanked them for their time and was unable to get the work done by Queen City Painting; they recommended I contact a drywall company. Ron kindly offered to have the crew help put some of the furniture my husband and I moved back in place. I didn?t accept the kind gesture because I still was having the work done with another painter who also provided a quote. They are using a ladder extension.

Ron arrived promptly and was very professional. We felt confident he would provide quality services. He provided us with a quote by the end of the day. However, his quote was higher than other quotes we received.

It was an absolute pleasure working with Ron and the Queen City Painting crew! From the free estimate to the follow-up after the work was completed, he was professional and knowledgeable. The work took two days to complete and the house looks beautiful and the process went smoothly. After the estimate, we decided to add paint to the cabinets, and that was no problem. When we picked out the paint colors for the walls and accent walls, we simply had to e-mail them to Ron and they showed up! There was a concern about the colors, and Ron called before he placed the order. He wanted to notify us that if we proceeded with those colors, there would be an extra charge. He guided us through the best course of action, even though it meant less money for him. During the walk-through there were touch-ups that needed attention and they were done immediately. Ron could not be there for the walk-though, so his foreman conducted it. He was also professional and attentive. Because he could not be there for the walk-through, Ron called less than an hour later to touch base and make sure we loved the results. He also sent me pictures as the work was being completed! The ceilings are amazing and the walls look better than ever! We look forward to working with Queen City again.

They were very careful to drape windows, my patio door and house siding to protect against paint spray. They removed my patio furniture away from the work area. They covered landscape plants close to the patio. The men were wonderful, thoughtful and considerate to me and my home. They made absolutely sure that I was satisfied before they left. I would certainly use them again. Ron MacMillan is the person I worked with and he was here for all phases of the work.

I am difficult to please, and it was actually hard to find any place that wasn't great...and then they immediately corrected. They were also very concerned that my wife and I were happy. I also loved how they painted the entire exterior in 1 day with 9 guys.

Ron the owner came out and gave me an estimate. He also assisted me with finding a color for the trim after the builder was not able to find the match for my home. He and his team were friendly, on time, and did a great job. They made sure that the job was done right.

Our family needed to get all of the painting work done in one day if possible, and they did it! They showed up promptly, worked all day, and touched up any little minor details we noticed at the walk through. Their price stayed the same as the estimate with the exception of some minor sheetrock repairs that we knew would be added after electrical work was completed. I was always able to contact Ron with any questions or concerns about our job. We would definitely recommend them to anyone who needs a professional painting job completed. Our home feels like a new place now!

Ron and his crew were on time and reviewed with me all the work to be done with Dan his supervisor as well as the color they would be using. Dan and the crew were there most of the day and did a fantastic job. Before finishing up Dan and I walked through the house and addressed some minor work that needed to be done but overall they did a fantastic job in getting it done in less than 8 hrs. Wife and I are completely satisfied and would hire them again if needed for any other room we needed painted since they painted over 2/3 of the house already. Crew was efficient in cleaning up their mess and put everything back in the right place for us.

Full interior and exterior painting of 4500 square foot home

We recently moved from CA to Charlotte and purchased a home that needed an interior facelift. I chose this company due to the reviews and because they had the manpower to do the job in 2 days. I also liked the fact that everyone doing the job was an actual employee of the company. I did receive several cheaper quotes with longer timeframes to get the work completed (1-2 weeks) but I couldn't wait that long to move in. They did the job to my satisfaction. Danny, the foreman, was very pleasant to work with and quickly fixed anything that required touching up when I did the walk through. Ron further caught some areas that required touching up that Danny and I didn't see so that was great. Danny also have me some future tips on caring for and cleaning the walls/trim. They weren't finished when I left after the walk through so I came the next morning thinking I might need to call someone back for additional touch ups but that wasn't necessary. I would definitely recommend!

I have a vaulted living room with open floor plan into the kitchen and stairway. It was painted a dark khaki, and I chose a light, warm creamy yellow. Ron's crew did the job in 2 coats of paint (superpaint from Sherwin Williams). They put down tarps to cover the floors and furniture and removed most switch plates (not the cable plate). They pre-sanded and spackled any nail pops or holes and then did 2 coats of paint in less than 6 hours total. There were a couple minor things I touched up later because I'm super picky, but all in all, I was happy with the price, the politeness of the crew, and the result. I would hire him again. My neighbor hired someone else to do her interior, and it was a nightmare (the painters left handprints on her bed sheets, and they weren't even painting in that room!), so she wished she had hired Ron when I recommended him.

Ron was on time at 8:30 and went over which walls were to have which color. Danny and the crew were here most of the day and did a fantastic job. He made sure when they were done that everything was satisfactory. I checked everything over carefully and they did a great job. Ron called later to make sure everything was done the way I wanted it. The only thing I didn't do was pay attention to where they put the furniture back. Some of it (like the china cabinet) needed to be moved a little and it was hard for my husband and I to do ourselves. But that was my own fault for not paying closer attention. I would definately use them again.

My wife and I cannot say enough good things about Ron and his crew. We had issues with an original start date due to a water pipe bursting but Ron worked with us through the repairs and remodel without charging us any cancellation fees! Once everything was repaired and scheduled he and Danny walked through the entire project and made sure my wife and i were comfortable with everything prior to getting started. Several days before the job Ron communicated with us about preparing our home and deciding on paint colors to make sure there was nothing missed on the morning of. They completed the entire job in one day even after we added on some additional work for them that wasn't expected. The entire house was cleaned up and his crew was fantastic to work with! We received emalis throughout the day letting us know about the progress being made as well. I would highly recommend them if you are looking to hire painters. The day before they came i made the mistake of hiring someone for the lowest price to paint a couple of bathrooms that Ron and his crew weren't originally scheduled to do. Ron and his crew ended up redoing them because the other guy did such a poor job. I've never hired a company to do work for us that had any better communication than these guys.

It's amazing how much paint can transform a house. It went from being awful and dingy to clean and bright in less than 8 hours! The crew did a great job; 8 - 10 people came to the house. They did a great job of protecting our furniture and floors and cleaning up.

Ron is extremely professional, responsive, and organized. His prices and quality are great. One of the biggest advantages to using him over his competition is the size of his staff, he brought 11 people to our new house and all work was completed in one day. Other painters had quoted 1 week to complete our house. We didn't want to wait a week to move in! I would highly recommend Ron and his team and will use them again should we have a need.

Beautiful job. My house is lighter and brighter. the work is superb. the painters moved all the furniture and painted every nook and cranny. The crew kept in touch with me along the way and i got a follow up phone call. Job well done.

We have a 3400 sq ft house with over 40 windows which needed the exterior painted. Ron Mac gave us his recommendations and a detailed estimate. We had received estimates from 3 other painting contractors but were impressed with the professionalism of Queen City Painting, so we contracted with them immediately. On the day of the scheduled appointment for painting, no less than 9 painters showed up on time and went to work immediately. Danny, the foreman, assigned each painter their project and was constantly monitoring their progress during the day, while he was also painting. The entire crew appeared to enjoy what they were doing and their finished product was awesome. At the end of the day, you are asked to walk with Danny or Ron to inspect their work, and if not 100% satisfied, they will correct it immediately. We could not find anything which needed to be corrected. It was a pleasure to see quality workmanship and that is what you get with Queen City Painting. We highly recommend this company for any painting project you may need.

Ron and his crew arrive as scheduled and completed the work in one day. We reviewed the work and found the color chosen for the office to be too bright a yellow-gold. Ron said no problem and repainted the room with left over paint from the Dining and Family Rooms at no extra charge. We were completely satisfied with the work.

Excellent service all around! Will definitely use Queen City Painting Co. for any future painting jobs. Ron was honest and thorough when he came to estimate the job. He gladly offered alternate pricing both with and without all the trim, columns, door fronts, window trim etc. The final price was very fair for the scope of the job. The job was done very efficiently, neatly and amazingly fast! The large crew was extremely proficient, clean and respectful of our furniture and property. Everyone was pleasant and professional. The foreman, Danny, was on top of all aspects of the job. Queen City Painting Co. sets a high standard for itself, the job was basically flawless upon our final inspection. You're sure to be delighted when you step back and admire the job when they're done!

Ron was professional, responsive and really cared that we were happy with the work. Ron clearly takes pride in his group's work and remembers details. When he came to the house to provide an estimate, he remembered that he had painted my house for previous owners and pointed out particular issues and areas of the walls that might be problematic. He also proudly pointed out a house on our block where his crew had recently done the exterior painting. We were not living in Charlotte yet when the painting was done at our house, so Ron offered to accompany his crew to the house on the morning of painting day and make sure they knew what we wanted. He checked on the work at the end of the day and emailed me several photographs. He was in close communication by text, email and phone leading up to and during the job and made sure to obtain explicit answers from me to any questions to avoid confusion later. He was also very flexible and responsive in helping resolve some questions about paint color choices that came up at the very last minute. Specifically, there was a question about whether the color we had selected for the trim would cover the existing trim color in the one coat we had budgeted for. Ron made an extra trip to the house to determine the existing trim color, and later offered to test an area of trim for us using a different color and called me back quickly with the results and a recommendation. Ron was also flexible and friendly in accommodating adjustments to the areas we were having painted without charging us additional money, including using a third coat where necessary on some of the walls, even though he had only planned for two coats. As a bonus, Ron's quoted price for the job was also the lowest of the quotes we received.

They have good communication. They were extremely efficient and quick. They did the whole house in one day with two coats everywhere, so that was good.
