Description of Work: They did not actually do the work. They did not get back to me as promised with the estimate and could not answer my questions about the work to be done or the materials to be used. It took a second call back to find out why the price was so high and they never gave me info I requested on the water heater I wanted installed as part of this project.

+ -1 moreCalled Jim Dickerson Plumbing to schedule someone to replace a defective garbage disposal with new one (which I supplied). Made the call at approximately 8:30AM. The scheduler told me that they could have someone at my house between 10:00AM and 12:00. I was called approximately 15 minutes before the plumber arrived. The plumber performed the job in a very professional manner, within a reasonable amount of time. I was very pleased with the performance of this company.
Description of Work: Removed and replaced a customer-supplied garbage disposal.

+ -1 moreThe repair was successful in that the area worked on was fixed, however they created a roof leak where the vent pipe exits the roof thru the boot. We notified them and they responded and sealed the boot on the roof that was leaking.
Description of Work: They repaired a leaking vent pipe up in the ceiling/attic that another plumber had not installed properly. The vent pipe was leaking rain water due to bad glue joints and a low point that collected rain water.

water heater repair
+ -1 moreI called the company at 8:00 and was told my service representative would arrive between 10:00 and 1:00. At approximately 12:30, the company called to inform me the rep was on the way. He arrived within 30 minutes. He replaced the thermo-couple and tested for CO2. He also informed me the tank is ten years old and to watch for leaks as most tanks last about ten years. He was very nice and knowledgeable and did a good job.

+ -1 moreI noticed water on the sidewalk near the water meter so contacted the City to see if they would repair. The City said the water line from the meter to the house was the homeowner's responsibility even though the water line ran under a City sidewalk and that I needed to hire a plumber to do the repair. Jim Dickerson discussed the situation with me and gave advice on how to proceed. They sent a plumber out the same day to dig around the meter and water line to establish were the water leak was located. Once the plumber determined the leak was under the sidewalk, he agreed to assist me in communicating the findings to the City. The City sent an engineer out the next day who confirmed what the plumber determined. Now the City has said they are responsible for the repairs.

I happened to have the day off from work, so it was crucial that we have it fixed that day. I was impressed that they were able to come out within hours of the call. Jeff was professional and courteous. He was done and gone within about an hour. I would highly recommend this company.
Description of Work: We had a clogged kitchen drain. We looked everywhere to find the source of the clog, but couldn't find it. We called Jim Dickerson Plumbing and they came out the same day, found the clog and fixed it.

+ -1 moreOutside was easy and fast. Inside seemed to be as well but leaked after they left. It had never leaked before. I called them out the next day and the plumber who responded (different than the one who did the original work) very strongly did not want to take responsibility for the problem. He was going to charge me parts and labor to fix it, then when I argued he agreed to just charge for the $69 part. I was getting frustrated but when we called the owner to see what she said on the matter she quickly and graciously said they would fix the problem they caused for free. The plumber on site didn't like being over-ruled but I'm glad I went up the chain. Everything is fine now. I was impressed with management and will use them again even though they caused the initial leak.

+ -1 moreI was given several options for fixing the problem and not pressured at all to make a decision right away. I called several other plumbers to compare estimates and found the rates to be comparable. I have not had the work done as of yet.
Description of Work: I had the problem of commodes (only) backing up intermittently. The plumber asked intelligent questions trying to figure out the problem. He snaked both commodes and flushed them numerous times in his evaluation. He gave a detailed explanation as to what was causing the problem. It was a combination of old, poorly designed commodes with loss of water pressure with flushing caused by numerous water holes under the rim clogged with mineral deposits.

+ -1 moreThe technician arrived on time. He seemed like a nice guy, but having a bad day. He did not remove or cover his shoes each time he came into the house. He repaired the shower spicket pretty quickly (but left some mud in the shower from his boots) and then went to work on the water pressure issue. He installed a device near the water heater that helped lower the water pressure some and keep the pipes from rattling when the water is turned on full blast. So, it appears that issue was taken care of as well. He did not go over how the device works until I asked him how it worked. So, overall the technician did a good job.
Description of Work: Fixed a leaking spicket in shower and reduced the water pressure in the house.

+ -1 moreI was very disappointed. I guess I should be happy though because they showed the type of service they provide before I paid them anything so I was able to find another company.
Description of Work: No work was done; in fact they did not come out to my home. This company does not return phone calls. I called to schedule a visit to have my gas fireplace converted to a wood burning fireplace, plumbers are required to do this work. The first day I called the woman I spoke with said she would have a technician call back to discuss the specifics of what I wanted done. My job was not difficult, but it was not a standard conversion. A day goes by and I hear nothing. I called the next day and spoke with a different woman who put me on hold to check to see if they could do the work I needed. I told her I called the day before and that I was told a technician would call me and that no one had returned my called. Apparently she spoke with the woman from the previous day because she returned in a short time and said I'll will have Jim call you back (I assume Jim is the owner, Jim Dickerson). Well, needless to say that was about a week ago and still no return call.

Description of Work: The person who answered the phone, explained what to do to minimize the leak until the plumber could come out and made sure that I had the Angie's List coupon. The plumber arrived as scheduled and completed the replacement of the tank bolts quickly and well. He also checked our other toilets to make sure that there would not be a problem with them.
