+ 0 moreI don't remember how much I paid. I have got a little guest house and its sewage system is pumped to the main house. That pump malfunctioned and they came and replaced it. I think they did a good job. I didn't have any problems with them. It was a difficult job, but they came and got it done. The whole thing seemed fairly reasonable.

+ -1 moreI called and got a rough estimate over the phone for the jobs needed to be done and they came out the next day. Arrived on time and went right to work and cleaned up afterwards. They took the old toilet and sink away for me. Showed me everything they did and asked if I had any questions. They were professional and did a good job. I am very pleased with the work done and would call them again for any problems.
Description of Work: Replaced toilet, replaced kitchen sink including disconnecting garage disposal and reconnecting it and replaced several shut-off valves.

Description of Work: The plumber, Ted, was very professional and checked our ice-make connection because we were getting no ice. After a thorough examination he told us that the plumbing was fine and that the problem was with our refrigerator - most likely it needed a new filter.

It took them two trips to finish the job. They were reasonably priced. The best part about them was probably their responsiveness.

+ -1 moreThe person that they sent out was new and inexperienced. He did not install the pipe correctly. He used a flexible pipe instead of a copper pipe. They had to send out another person right away to fix the work that the first person had done. Since the first person had used flexible pipe where the tub spout spigot was, now even to this day the spigot moves when we touch it. It is loosely attached to the wall because he hadn?t used the correct materials. We are now going to have the wall behind it ripped out to redo the whole thing. Our experience with them overall wasn?t too good. We are still suffering the repercussions of improperly done work.
Description of Work: We used Jim Dickerson Plumbing & Electrical Inc. about three years ago for some rough plumbing work before we had the bathroom redone.

+ -1 moreVery pleased with work! Contacted Jim Dickerson Plumbing on Friday around 11:30 am. A knowledgeable receptionist answered the phone. Thinking I would have to take a day off, I requested a Monday appointment to prepare. Receptionist(Mardi) offered a same day afternoon appointment or Saturday (8-9am) time slot. I took the Saturday slot with JOY! The receptionist also informed me of the initial hourly rate and reminded me that there was a coupon for Angie's List member. Receptionist call Saturday morning (8:25 am) indicating technician was in route. Technician(Dave) arrived at 9:00 and completed the job in 1 hour. Dave was very professional and focused on getting the job done while making sure I understood what he was doing. Dave's professionalism to identify the problem and resolve it was excellent. Dave's effort to explain the task at hand and the possible cause was great. Because of Jim Dickerson employee's efforts on customer service from start-to-finish, I am pleased with the price and final resolution.
Description of Work: Leak on the first floor which originated from the second floor bathroom. Fairly certain the bathtub draining was the problem. Jim Dickerson Technician(Dave) cut out section of the 1st floor ceiling drywall to locate and repair leak on the masture bathtub drainer. Technician pulled out the tube strainer from tub shoe, reputty strainer, and reinstalled it. Technician retested for leaks.

Description of Work: We discovered a leak in our water supply line between the street and our house at 10pm on a Monday night. We called Dickerson plumbing and they were there early the next morning, provided a detailed estimate, and had our water restored that afternoon. They ran a completely new supply line to our house which included digging a trench for the new line and also installed a water pressure valve in the new line.

+ -1 moreWe received four estimates for this work, and Dickerson's was the lowest. They came and gave an estimate the same day we called. The new line was laid with the minimum disruption to trees and landscaping, and they replaced the one shrub that had to be moved. We were impressed with the way they cleaned up our yard after the work was finished. Dickerson made certain that we knew that the work had to have a permit and be inspected, and that we could apply for a partial refund on our increased water bill due to the leak. Overall they were very responsive.
Description of Work: Replaced the main water line running from the water main to the house.

+ -1 moreThey did a very good job. It wasn't exactly cheap or an unbelievable deal, but it was quality. It was worth it as far as we were concerned to get it done and have it done right. I don't recall the complexity of the work but it seemed to be done quickly and efficiently and with a knowledgeable technician. It wasn't hugely expensive. It seemed to be on the high end but not outrageously expensive. The price was high but reasonable. I did talk to the guy and looked over his shoulder a little bit and he seemed to be professional.
Description of Work: Jim Dickerson Plumbing fixed a sink. The faucet where it attached to the countertop was loose, and it was a difficult place to tighten it. They also fixed a toilet that was leaking.

+ -1 moreOur pipes had been banging on and off for several months. The plumber took a look at the pressure relief valve that had been installed several years ago. He said he couldn't say for sure if replacing it would fix the problem (I appreciated his honesty). I decided to have the PRV replaced; there hasn't been any pipe banging since so perhaps that solved the problem. In addition the PVC water supply shut-off valve inside the downstairs closet was leaking every so slightly. It was replaced with a more substantial metal valve.
Description of Work: Installed a pressure relief valve and replaced water shut-off valve.

+ -1 moreI can't say enough good things about Jeff and Eddie, the two plumbers who worked at my house most of two days in order to find the source of this problem and fix it for me. They worked extremely hard, and they really knew what they were doing. They worked hard to find the solution that best met my needs and minimized the cost while maximizing the quality of the repair. This is in contrast to other people who do things in the way that is easiest for them, or which makes them the most money. In addition to the plumbing work itself, they were very careful to clean up well before they were done. Both Jeff and Eddie were also very nice people and pleasant to have around. My only complaint at all is that they appear to have removed the shutoff valve I previously had between the meter and the house, which I think was installed by the people who put in my irrigation system. I don't know why they did not put that back in when they installed the new pipe - and they did not mention to me that they were removing it.
Description of Work: My main water line from the street to the house broke Water was traveling down the line and pouring into my crawl space. The plumbers located the break (which was quite difficult) and installed a new water line. They replaced the old PVC line with PEX which has improved durability. This was a very difficult job. They had to locate where my water line entered through the wall of the house, and this turned out to be underneath the concrete driveway. They measured to locate the right spot, cut a section of concrete out, and dug roughly 5 feet to locate the water line. This turned out not to be the location of the break, so they went to the other end and located where the pipe went under the driveway from the other side. They discovered the entire pipe was encased in a PVC sleeve. They removed the entire old pipe from the sleeve and found that the break was roughly halfway across the driveway. They inserted new PEX pipe in the sleeve and connected it at both ends to complete the repair. Note that this was all done during our extreme cold snap, so they were working outdoors in very cold weather.

+ -1 moreJob was done efficiently, I just would like to have had the opportunity to help clean the rust that was there from the original, apparently cheap or substandard original parts, OR for the Technician to have done a better job doing that before installing the new parts. But, he knew what he was doing, as basically I have a new toilet except for the actual porcelain toilet and toilet tank. I never could have done this repair myself. Service was professional and punctual. I will call them again when the next toilet fails like this one (I have 2 more).
Description of Work: Replacement of ALL parts in the TOP TOILET TANK, Master Bedroom toilet, this toilet is only 5.5 years old. Parts were rusted and disentegrating.

+ -1 moreThey were fine and prompt. The plumber came here and diagnosed the problem. He had a disposal in his truck and so, he didn't have to run back to get one. He had everything that was needed to do the job and he was carrying some spare pieces. He answered all my questions too. I felt that the price was okay, as I don't use the services of plumbers very much. You call them once a while and you get surprised when you get the bill. The quality of their work was good, as everything seems to be working and there are no problems. They were very responsive and the plumber came on time too. I was satisfied with his service as well.
Description of Work: I used the services of Jim Dickerson Plumbing & Electrical the week before Christmas to fix a leak underneath my sink. They ended up replacing my disposal.

Description of Work: A fitting on the drain plumbing under the kitchen sink broke. When it did the drain dropped away from the left sink. When this happened the garbage disposal on the right sink twisted and that drain also strated to leak. When I the home owner attempted to see if I could fix it all the drain plumbing fell down. I decided at that moment that I needed a professional. I called in the morning around 8:30 and they were on the job within time I was told on the phone Between 11:00 and 3:00.

She tried to trouble shoot some things over the phone in efforts to resolve the problem without sending a plumber to my house. When it was determined that I would need a plumber to visit my home, they were able to send a someone to my house the next day. I was informed over the phone what would be done in trying to detect for a leak and what the charges would be. The plumber called me when he was on his way and arrived at the scheduled appointment time. He was very professional and thorough in his manner. He informed me what he was doing and educated me in the process. I appreciated the attention to detail and thoroughness of the plumber. I would definitely hire this company again.
Description of Work: I hired them to detect whether or not I had a water leak and to reset a toilet for stabilization purposes.
