 + -1 moreAfter taking a shower one evening, I noticed the shower head had started dripping pretty badly. I called them, and they gave me the option of waiting until morning ($69 for visit), or coming out immediately ($99 for visit). I had them come out, and they arrived w/in 30 minutes. Great response time. Those two little rubber washers and labor cost $91 each. Ouch. Total was $281, but I used the $20 off coupon for a total of $261. Took him about 10 minutes to diagnose and fix. He also tested my water pressure which is apparently very high and recommended a valve thing (?) which I didn't really understand, but he said they will send me some info. on it via e-mail.
Description of Work: Replaced two washers in shower handles.

 + 0 moreER Plumbing is a top notch company. When I called for an estimate they sent a plumber that very day. The office manager worked on the weekend to prepare a job estimate as I wanted to move quickly on the plumbing work (our old hot water heater was well past its useful life). Tankless hot water heaters are very expensive and they took the time to explain the cost, installation and various models. They also recommended replacing our toilets with Toto brand. This recommendation impressed me as I was familier with this brand after research on another house remodel several years ago. The day of the job 2 plumbers arrived on schedule. They worked diligently and professionally. The work areas were kept neat and left clean at the end of the day. They returned several days later to install the shower parts which had been on back order. I can not say enough good things about this company. I will use this company for future plumbing needs. The customer service is superb.
Description of Work: Replaced gas hot water heater with new tankless gas hot water heater. Replaced 2 toilets with Toto toilets. Repaired bathroom sink drip. Installed utility sink in garage. Replace shower parts - rainhead and shower hose and bar.

They had a serviceman out within a few hours; earlier than they had quoted. He walked through my bathroom and took a lot of time explaining what the problem could be and how I could check into it myself, saving me hundreds of dollars. I appreciate E.R.'s promptness & professionalism. They were also willing to come do this all for free just for being being an Angies List customer- the normal rate for an estimate is $69!

After speaking with the President of the company, and the guys who came out to do the project, we settled on a price for the project. Their willingness to work with us on the price, and their expertise on the project, really impressed us. They turned a bad situation into a great one. We would definitely recommend!
Description of Work: ER ran a camera through the pipes and determined the cause of the problems. They installed a clean out for us and telephoned the city to line up a cleaning from the city.

Very responsive, very flexible, very customer focused, and very professional. They seem to be a mid-size company who offers the best of both worlds in terms of what they can do in terms of responsiveness, pricing, and product offering while still being personable with their customers. I would not hesitate to use them again in the future.

 + -1 moreOverall, I would rate it as an average experience. Pros: The technician was very prompt, seemed knowledgable, and kept the work area very neat/clean. I think pricing is probably consistent with other companies, but don't have much basis for comparison since this is my first time requiring a plumber. Cons: I am not sure that the shower handle/plate overlying the valve was secured well after he completed his work. It also seemed that the technician kept insisting that it was somehow our fault that the shower valve was not correctly installed. (we had taken the handle/plate off to see why it wasn't working prior to his arrival). That was a little irritating. When we bought the house, the inspector had noticed this problem existed before we moved in, so clearly that was not the case.
Description of Work: Fixed an incorrectly installed shower valve. Evaluated a leak at base of toilet.

 + -1 moreThe job went well. They cut the cable-TV cable when they trenched for the new supply line, but this was the fault of Time Warner who never came out to mark their line as requesed.
Description of Work: We had 2 leaking pipes in our slab foundation after we had repaired a different slab leak earlier in 2009. Dave with ER Plumbing came out and spent substantial time determining the best solution -- he proposed a complete bypass of all pipes in the slab. Not only this, but he spent substantial time looking at the existing layout and how they could repipe with minimal cutting of drywall. The crew did an excellent job and were able to fish new pipes through the ceiling space in the kitchen to tie into existing pipes. They installed a completely new service line from the meter, installed 2 new hose bibs, resupplied the first floor half-bath from above, resupplied the pipes in the laundry room from above and were able to installed new pipes behind the cabinets in the kitchen to supply both the sink and the back yard hose bib. They went the extra mile with this job. I really appreciate Mike's efforts under our kitchen sink as he had to work around the garbage disposer unit. Now I have no more pipes to fail in my slab!!

 + -1 moreI was very pleased with the response, work effort and price from E.R. Plumbing concerning this problem. Bill Smith even called me back several days later to see if I had gotten any resolution from the city (I hadn't, but only because no one had returned any of my calls). He then offered to try to contact the city for me, even though it would mean less work for him if they agreed the work was their responsibility. I will definitely use them again if/when the need arises.
Description of Work: ER's plumber, Jeff, came out within an hour after our call to have a sewer drain line checked due to sewage backing up in the system. He "snaked" the line through a clean-out, then explained/showed me what he found and what he thought the problem was. He also suggested that I may have recourse through the city and strongly recommended I contact them. I did so immediately and, suprisingly, the city crew came out while Jeff was still there. He explained to them what he had done and they said they would have their supervisor contact me about a possible resolution.

drain cleaning
 + -1 moreWe had a bathroom sink that had been draining very slowly and was getting worse. The blockage wasn't in the trap section, and using drano and then a plumber's snake on our own didn't work, so it was apparent that it was time for professional help. Emergency Response's plumber arrived right on schedule, first thing in the morning on a Saturday, and proceeded to snake out the pipe in the wall (after checking the upper drain sections). The clog was busted up and the sink now drains just fine. The plumber did a great job, and cleaned up the area when he was done. Although the price for the job seemed a little bit higher than average, the company doesn't charge extra for Saturday work, so all in all it was worth it. Also, we didn't have to wait long for an appointment - called on Friday, got service on Saturday.

He also gave me a great tip to help keep cost down if there was ever a leak again. He told me to put in an irrigation box so the lid is flushed up to the top of the ground. This way no one will have to dig to get to the valve. Great idea! Thanks Richard!

Discussed options, including tankless systems but replacement with another gas water heater and a recirculation system was best economical choice for us. They arrived promptly on Tuesday morning and did the work efficiently and neatly.

I called with an emergency because the faucet on the side of my house blew out and they came to my house within 30 minutes. There?s a special tool that you have to use to repair these faucets and they had it and fixed it without a problem. They also gave me an estimate on a couple of other projects, which they were able to complete at an excellent price. They came back a week or two later and completed those jobs, too. I?ve recommended them to several people.

Description of Work: I had a depressed area in my front yard and thought it was due to a leaky/sinking pipe. Jeff, the plumber who came to the house looked at the situation and determined there was no leak and the issue was most likely caused by poor prep work and installation when the house was built.

 + -1 moreHot water heater was leaking and needed to be replaced. Called Emergency Response and they had someone out within an hour. Gave me a price and returned shortly with the hot water heater that I requested. Took about 2 to 3 hours to remove old one and install new one. The quality of work was great. I was surprised by how much it costs to have a hot water heater replaced considering that the tank only costs about $400 to $500. ER's price doesn't seem to be much higher than other prices that I have seen but I'm still wondering why plumbers charge so much to replace these items. We're talking about $800 for a couple hours labor and removal of old unit.
