The job was done by the owner and it was with a horrible result. We are having to pay for a rework and looking fr a refund from Barringer. The owner will not return calls.

"This reviewer retained an attorney and even though mediation was scheduled, sent in this second review after an initial review in January 2014. The facts are well documented and verified as follows: The backyard was essentially a ditch/bog when property was purchased in February 2013. (Pictures available) The desired result was a back yard with a lawn that could be played in. We remediated the situation by bringing in 12 tandems loads of topsoil, adapting an existing irrigation system, and sodding the entire lawn. Upon completion of the project on June 21st, I volunteered that our company would aerate/seed in August 2013 at no charge because sod installed that late in season might not endure summer humidity. Over the course of the summer we corresponded multiple times in response to various questions. One of his replies on August was" The cutting went fine..... I was pleasantly surprised with the backyard firmness." We performed the aeration/seeding as promised in August 2013 with successful results, along with additional topsoil dressing as needed. We did not bill this additional work. On October 2, I visited the site again in response to claims that the lawn looked terrible; standing there as some minor problems were pointed out I was asked to consider resodding the whole backyard, noting that sod was better than seeded lawn. I replied the grass was coming in nicely and did not warrant replacing. In December 2013, the situation took on another dimension, when I was called about standing water in the backyard from a rain two days earlier (actually the weeks prior and after were rainy as well). The entire backyard was somewhat wet because of seasonal sunshine(lower in sky), above normal rain in December, and lower temperatures. This in addition to three tall houses and trees blocking the sun. Specifically, the sumphole at the top of the yard had water in it; I offered that this could be piped out, but it had no bearing on a dry lawn. His answer was "Piping the water out is not fixing the problem." After which in the same email he stated "Also as we said from the beginning, there should be some type of underground drainage system to move this water through". My professional opinion and that of a third party professional is that water is draining off 98% of the lawn; however because of lack of direct sun and excess rain, it is taking much longer to dry than he would like. John Barringer was responsive at first and put in some time on the project, but the final product was an unusable yard. It was not graded properly and the drainage solution does not work. The yard collects water and holds it for saveral days after each rain. The yard is wet and muddy. It is a tripping hazard from the improper grading, so we can not use it for it's intended purpose.
We call Barringer looking for solutions and each time, we were put off by John telling us to let the yard settle. Finally, he will not return our calls. The project was completed in June and we still do not have a yard we can use. He did try to make corrections in October by adding fill dirt, but this made the issues worse and killed the sod we had paid for the in the original project. We have had to consult an attorney. DO NOT use Barringer & Barringer.

Mr. Barringer came out and discussed with me in detail ideas and suggestions for redoing my back yard.  He listened to my ideas and provided his expert input which supplemented and improved upon my design.  A detailed proposal was e-mailed to me in a timely manner and the job was scheduled to begin within a week.  The work was completed quickly, cleanly, and in a professional manner.  The completed project exceeded my expectations and we are now enjoying a beautiful, new backyard this spring.

THEY DESIGNED IT ALL. I'M VERY HAPPY WITH THE PLANTS THEY CHOSE. THE PLANTS ARE UNIQUE AND HARDY. WHEN THEY BROKE AN UNDETECTABLE UNDERGROUND DRAIN PIPE THEY REPAIRED IT AT NO CHARGE.

THE LANDSCAPING WAS BEAUTIFUL. HOWEVER, I MUST GIVE THEM LOW MARKS BECAUSE THEY INSTALLED PINE NEEDLES IN SUCH A THIN LAYER THAT I HAD BALD SPOTS JUST A FEW WEEKS LATER. I HAVE REPEATEDLY CALLED THEM TO TAKE CARE OF 2 GUARANTEED PLANTS THAT DIED AND NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE. THEY SEEMED MUCH MORE INTERESTED IN CUSTOMER SERVICE BEFORE THEY GOT MY MONEY.
