Anthony & Sylvan Pools

Anthony & Sylvan were great to work with. Tim Clark did our design and was available to us during the whole process for any questions we had, as was everyone in the office that we had the chance to speak with. The general manager even called to check on the progress and our satisfaction.

They were wonderful to deal with. Jason Did a great job with the sales. Bill and Wayne did an excellent job as Project Managers and Patty was excellent as far scheduling the services and communications with time lies. They irked extremely hard o help me ge ino he pool for a fourth of July paty I had scheduled. We have had so many compliments on our new pool. Excellent job all the way around. Ron Sessions

The design work was very easy with the salesperson. It was done right in front of your eyes. Then the real fun started. The hole was dug and the gunite was poured. The crew kept the place fairly clean. Then the deck and coping was laid and one could see how awesome the pool was going to look. Lastly, the pebble tech was laid and the pool was filled. At any time if I needed to change something or had a question the staff at Anthony & Sylvan took care of it. At one point the production manager left the company and there was a lack of communication but then I called the Supervisor and all my questions and concern were addressed immediately. Overall, we had a great experience with Anthony & Sylvan.

The contractor was on time and performed the work above our expectation. We loved the design of the pool and the pebble tech that went in. Looks amazing. Thank you for the many memories that my family will have.

They started and completed on time as estimated. They prepared all the ground, and fixed/replaced anything that had to be moved (like underground pipes and wires). They handled all the electrical and plumbing connections needed. They followed up to make sure the online system controls worked. They followed up to make sure everything was working as it should. And when we called with questions or something needed adjustment, they promptly came out to correct it. The pool is absolutely B-E-A-U-tiful, and they were a joy to work with throughout the process. If you can, get Design Consultant BRYAN SYVRUD, he can whip up a great design program on his laptop and make changes on the fly to show you what the finished product will look like.

We choose a pebbletec pool with stone decking and stone diving board. Worked with salesperson, Brian Syrvud, and his professionalism and level of detail succeeded our expectations. Installation of pool was preformed during a new build and we were not present. He took care of all details and informed up daily on the progress of installation. Pool was completed on time even through a rainy summer. Brian was a joy to work with and I would highly recommend him to my family and friends. Pool turned out beautiful and was the highlight of our new home.

Anthony & Sylvan came out to our home for our initial consultation. They listened to what we were looking for in a pool/water feature. Brian was able to create a realistic digital "mock-up" of what we wanted. The crew was very professional, from the excavator operator to the stone installer, and the site manager. A & S was consistent with the agreed upon timeline. As first time pool owners, we had lots of questions throughout the process. Our site manager gave us his cell phone and always answered promptly. We had a wonderful experience with A & S and would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a high quality, in-ground pool with resort style options if desired.

We had a fantastic experience with this provider. They sent a consultant to our home who worked with us. He created a lifelike virtual pool in order to show us what the pool would look like. They were very respectful and professional from the excavator workers to the stone layers all the way up to the site manager. As first time pool owners we had lots of questions. we had the the site manager's phone number and we were able to call him at any time. He made himself available and answered any questions that we had. We would highly recommend Anthony & Sylvan Pools to anyone who wants a high quality pool with resort options

The whole process from design to the start up o the pool was great. Anthony Sylvan sent a sale man / Designer to start the process. He took the time to find out exactly what me and my wife wanted in a pool. He took the time to plan and make changes to that plan till we were happy. The team that was to do the digging came and laid the shape of the pool out in paint and I am gald they did we chance the plan once again.Anthony Sylvan just rolled with all the changes the we were making. Well let me tell you that the team lead walked us though the whole process explaining ever step. It is the 4th season with our pool and and we are as happy as the day we first swam in it. It is sad to say but days after writing this I found a leak in my pool. Well,try to get a hold of someone they don't answer the phone and if you leave a message for someone to call you, you get an e-mail.i finally get to talk to someone and she is already getting me ready for the the blow that its not going to be covered and I should look at my contract. Well i look at my contract only to learn that I should have a french drain behind my pool to help the problem I am having, that was never put in. I call again, I am told that its been 4 years and they may not put the drain in it will be up to the manager who comes out to inspect. A week later and I am waiting to hear from someone. My pool has dirt running in ever time it rains that the filters I replaced last year for 350.00 can not keep up and are so clogged they need to be changed again. I will update this if and when I hear from someone.

I received a phone call today and had a pleasant conversation with Owen Sakovics from Anthony and Sylvan. I and am hopeful that we can work through the Customer Service issues, that he can get the repairs performed, and so that we may be able to positively review their company and recommend them in the future. We have had SO many compliments and questions from friends, family, and neighbors on our free form 700 square foot Gunnite and PebbleTec Finish Pool.

I love my Anthony and Sylvan pool. It was a dream come true when we had it installed. We had some problems with the tile. The Charlotte Division Manager, Kevin Macdonald, came to our home and the problem was taken care of right away. Thank you Kevin

I had an excellent experience with Anthony & Sylvan Pools starting with Felicia Harrison who answered the pool and made the arrangements with my Design Consultant Jason Smith. Jason arrived on time and I was impressed with his knowledge of the product and with the fact that he had a background in construction. He designed my pool, taking into account the budget that I gave him. I actually had an appointment the next Monday with another pool company; however, I was so impressed with Jason, that I went on and signed a contract that very day. He told me that my granddaughters would be swimming by August 1 and they were! Honestly, I did not expect the project to be finished by the due date as very few construction projects are finished on time - but it was. Throughout the construction process, I was impressed with the attention to detail by each and every member of the team. The guy who dug the hole for the pool had a suggestion to make a slight adjustment to the pool due to the contour of my yard. He got my approval and called the supervisor and the change was made. The team who did my pavers did an excellent job and helped me find the exact pattern I wanted. They agreed with the suggestion of the man who dug the hole and added a drain to make sure that I would not have any rain washing over my pavers - and I never have had a drainage problem due to their excellent work. I would definitely recommend Anthony & Slyvan.

We interviewed several pool companies and although other companies could give us the design and even better pricing we decided on Anthony & Sylvan because of their sales person Brian Syvrud. He did an excellent job designing the pool and getting everything we wanted into the design. He was very professional and great to work with. Construction took longer than expected with what we thought were avoidable delays. Customer service during the process could be better. They definitely try to make things right after the fact and to ensure a good review.

I had a positive experience with Anthony Sylvan. The entire staff seemed to genuinely care about the outcome of my pool and meeting my expectations. They took the time to educate me about the process and always made things wrong when I was not 100% pleased with either the time frame or work product. I would definitely recommend them in the future.

I could not be more satisfied. Rarely do construction projects end on time, but this one did. They told me we would be swimming on August 1, and we were. I was not expecting that. I was completely impressed with everyone involved. Starting with the lady who answered the phone, her name was Felicia Harrison, and our design consultant Jason Smith. They made me feel confident. I would recommend them. I think it is important to state that one of the reasons I called them is because they are established. They have been around for 65 years. I wanted to make sure they would be around the next year if I needed them, and that meant a lot to me.

It was a great experience. They had excellent customer support from the beginning to the end. They helped walked me through the entire process. Everyone I worked with was very helpful. They had several members on a team working with me, each explaining their specific role. They offered to help me get set up with a pool service company, as they just do the installation and construction aspect of the job.

It was an outstanding experience. The entire team from sales, scheduling, installation, service, management follow up, et al did a great job ensuring that the end product was what we wanted and expected. As experienced pool owners these guys,and gals, exceeded all of our expectations. Would definitely use this company again and would request that the same team be assigned to our project. First, I have been an estimator and been in the construction industry in the past. We also talked to many pool companies before this decision. A&S was not the cheapest, but I am glad we went with them. Our designer, Tim Clark, was great to work with, definitely A++, down to a few last minute changes he was helpful the whole process, he also stepped in more than once to make sure the process ran smoothly. Contractors (mostly subs) overall were very good, excavation, rebar, pebbletec would rate an A. The stone/tile/coping sub definitely A+ he was a real craftsman, gunite A+ they worked with us as they were shooting to make the steps a bit bigger, plumbing and electricians were good but not great, but partially due to quality control of overall A&S project management / scheduling. The process overall was ~8 weeks, on schedule by all means, but trying to get updates, even once a week was very difficult about what the schedule was that week. There were a few smaller things that were misplaced during construction that we caught and were corrected after much communication. Both of these aspects of the projects were the most frustrating. If you are spending ~10,000 per week on something it is nice to be able to get a phone call on what is going on... Overall I am glad we used A&S, the end product is great, and Tim stepped in several times to help make up for the other roles in the project. If this was due to too high of a workload, experience level, etc. of those people I am not sure, but it needs to be addressed. I would recommend using A&S, would definitely recommend calling Tim Clark, but would be ready to use your own project management skills to make sure things turn out how you want because things happen quickly and the details will matter in the end product.

While the pool installation process can by challenging at times, the professionalism and high level of customer service of the people with whom we worked made a world of difference. Patty Brugh, the Project Scheduler, helped us overcome the natural frustration of the process. Dealing with the challenges of weather, conflicting schedules/availability and other unexpected circumstances can be trying, but Patty was outstanding at keeping us well informed and always reassuring us that our pool was a priority. She backed up her word with action and was always very open with us when the schedule changed. We found Patty to be a great mix of professionalism with genuinely good customer service, something difficult to find in many businesses today.

From Day one we had a great vibe. They sat down with me we went over high level wants/needs. We then met a few weeks later and looked at a 3D drawing of the actual layout. 3 Weeks Later the project started. Through all of the phases we had checkpoints and I was out and about looking at the work through the whole process. At each phase my Project Manager Kam McGullicudy checked in with me in person and over the phone to ensure the work was going as planned. We had one issue with the coping not being correct which was fixed a day later and couldnt be more happy with that any of the work that was performed in my back yard.

They did a great job. They came out right on time. They answered all of our questions, and helped us make the decisions about what we wanted with the pool. They were very helpful.

Worst company we've ever dealt with. Don't waste your time or money. They do not communicate, keep timelines, know the business or care about their customers. They let the subcontractors run them. We spent an inordinate amount of time managing this project ourselves, when for the amount of money we paid we should have been able to sit back and watch the project become reality. They promised a 6-8week completion and reality was 14 weeks, not because of weather delays but rather their incompetency. We signed the contract on January 30, work was to begin February 2nd. On February 2nd we got an email saying their building permit had been delayed but that they should be able to start on February 9. On February 9 no one showed up to work and we had no contact from Anthony & Sylvan. We emailed them asking for an update and the salesman responded "we had that permit a week ago." On February 13 still no contact or work done by Anthony Sylvan so we contacted them again asking for the office manager to contact us. Later that day the project manager emailed us to say they'd gotten their permit and would begin excavation February 14 at 8:30am. By 9:30 am February 14 no one had shown up to work so we contacted the office manager and project manager and requested a face to face meeting for February 16. At 9:40am the subcontractor showed up and we sent him away. The office manager calls us and makes excuses for the subcontractor, saying he'll send them back out to begin work. The subcontractor comes back and begins excavation. On Feb 19 the project manager (newly hired and not the same one we signed the contract with) reveals that the subcontractor has dug the pool too deep and will need to come correct it. 2 weeks pass with no contact from Anthony Sylvan, then on February 28 the subcontractor shows up to fix the pool depth and do the rebar. In the process of doing so he damages one of our trees and our deck. We emailed the project manager about the damage and the piles of dirt still sitting in our yard and we got no response. On March 17 the gunite is installed, again no notice from Anthony sylvan that this is going to happen. On March 25 the electricians came and installed the outlet at a level that would be below ground once we backfilled with soil and grass. All this time the project manager would show up randomly, typically once a week and say he'd take care of the issues but again give no timeframe as to when. On March 30 we get an email from the scheduler saying the subcontractor will complete grading and remove excess dirt first thing in the morning on April 1. On April 1 no one shows up to work, project manager stops by at 4:30pm and says subcontractor had a flat tire. On April 2 the subcontractor does grading but leaves excess dirt. On April 8 the cement work is done. On April 9 we get an email from the project manager saying the cement looks good. We email him back - when will pebble tec be done and when will clean up be done? He emails back saying we need to do a pre pebble tec walk through. We schedule it for April 10. April 10 we give project manager a punch list of items to be fixed/addressed: damaged deck & tree, move outlet, grout color, grout cracks, cement cracks, pump leak, ground wire, grout missing at waterfall. Again we're told they will take care of these things but not when. We schedule clean up for April 15. April 15 no one shows up to work and no communication from Anthony Sylvan. We email scheduler and project manager, we have leaking skimmer, and when will clean up happen? We get email back from scheduler saying clean up will happen at the end of the week or early the following week, and they'll send out a cap for the skimmer. We email back that clean up needs to happen this week so we can do landscaping. Scheduler emails us back on April 16 saying pool cleaning will take place April 20, yard clean up will be determined later. Throughout this project we had to bury the grounding wire ourselves 3 times, cleaned nails and garbage left by contractors out of the pool and our yard, cleaned up the leftover gravel and replaced the damaged deck boards. On April 23 the scheduler texts a picture of a dive rock asking if it's the one we picked out. We respond that it's not. Scheduler responds they cannot find ours and we'll need to go pick another. We had picked out our dive rock on March 9, and because they waited 6+ weeks to pick it up someone else took it. So on April 24 we had to make another trip to pick out a dive rock and by this late in the season there weren't many to choose from. On April 25 the grading is done and yard waste is removed. On April 30 the project manager grouts the waterfall and dive rock, the grout color doesn't match what was initially installed. We press him for a date on getting the mastic done and all he can tell us is "30 days." When we ask "30 days from when?" He can't give us an answer. On May 1 contractors show up to do the mastic, again no notice from Anthony Sylvan that they're coming. The subcontractor leaves a 2" gap. We email a picture to the scheduler and project manager and they say they'll have the tile guy fix it. On May 2 the tile contractor shows up and replaces the chipped tile, says he cannot fix the mastic. On May 4 the tile contractor comes out to fix the grout color, when he's done it still doesn't match. We email scheduler again about the mastic gap, she doesn't understand what we're talking about. Several emails later she gets it and says she'll contact the mastic contractor. On May 8 the mastic contractor shows up and fixes the mastic, again with no notice from Anthony Sylvan. We tried engaging the office manager about our concerns several times and found him to be clueless. We tried contacting east coast director of operations, Neil Coyne and got no response from him. We made our final payment and washed our hands of this company.

We lived in York, SC about 10 years ago and they installed a pool for us. It was fabulous, the workmanship, the professionalism, and the timing. Everything was great. Now we live in Moore and we want a new pool installed. We did our research around here, and no one compares. We wanted Anthony & Sylvan Pools back. We contacted them, and they are willing to come 90 miles out of their way to install a new pool for us. They have gone above and beyond. A+.

Everything from day one, meeting with Tim, went great. With our dream in our minds, telling him what we wanted, figuring we would go with all we wanted then back off when he quoted the price, well he came in with our dream and the price we had in mind! It was started on the day he promised. The crews that came out, many different crews, being that there are many different steps to building pool/spa, were top of the line. They were exceptionally professional. When we had questions, we had answers immediately. Never worried about leaving the home unintended. Every evening when the crews left, everything was clean and picked up. Anthony & Sylvan Pool technicians were at the site many times just checking out the work, no scheduled calls to visit. Just stopped by. That showed us they believed in their crew, if they didn't worry, why should we. It was just a great feeling, especially because we were very new in the area, actually very to to NC. THANK YOU EVERYONE INVOLVED WITH OUR PROJECT .. WE WILL HIGHLY RECOMMEND ANTHONY & SYLVAN POOLS IN NC OR ANY WHERE.
